Let the Youth Run Wild

 Lock up the elderly.

Lock up the young.

Let the youth run wild.

Let our immunity grow strong.

Let us catch the virus,

We will become immune.

Mostly the elderly and young die.

Don't isolate us.

Don't keep away our education.

We need our education to get a job,

And a job to survive.

Our economy is falling,

Can't you see?

What about the poor, the homeless and the underdogs?

They're stuck out in the streets with all the noise.

Lets us out to help them,

To shelter them,

To look after them.

Everyone's life matters,

So why waste theirs?

Lock up the elderly.

Lock up the young.

Let the youth run wild,

We aren't animals to cage.

This virus possibly evolved from STARS.

Stars are beautiful,

Why can't you see?

So maybe this virus is a miracle.

Maybe it's in disguise.

It reduces our population and makes us realise how bad we've become.

It's exposing society's darkest secrets.

Bringing all too light.

It shows how selfish and greedy we are.

How self-absorbed and oblivious to all around us we've become.

Turn your eyes away from your phones, and listen to me.

Lock up the elderly.

Lock up the young.

Let the youth run wild,

We promise not to pass it on.

Let the elderly grow old.

Let them live their lives,

But keep them indoors and safe.

Let the young become youth.

Let their immune systems grow and strengthen,

But keep them inside until then so that their life isn't cut short.

Let the youth run wild though.

Let us be free.

Let us have fun.

Let us become a stronger generation.

We are strong.

We are free.

Don't lock us up.

Not even for a week.

This is a pandemic,

But please don't panic.

I'm not a medic,

Though I know that mostly the elderly and young are dying,

So let the youth become immune.

Tell your friends,

Tell your family,

Don't lock the youth up,

Let us run wild and free.
