Open up they say as they stare into my eyes

For a second i see clearly, how could I be so blind

two seconds away from handing them the key

For a moment, I wonder if they actually care about me

And then a voice inside tells me a quiet little lie

Why do you trust the people who wonder why you are alive?

So I take the key back

Close the door shut

ell them thank you but that is enough

To think I would have trusted such a person

I wonder what has gotten into me

Engulfing me in the lies as my vision fogs up once more
