So I finally found inspiration for another Thomas Sanders character: Patton! The character I relate the most to, even though Virgil's my favorite lol. So yeah, here goes nothing!

I've been told that I have the world's brightest smile.

That I am practically the happiest person on Earth.

If only that were true.

If only the happiness I feign everyday were real.

I hate lying, but I have to.

I can't let anyone know.

I can't let them see the broken man

Behind the bright smile.

I have to hide behind this mask

For everyone's sake.

I can't let them know how sad I really am

Because it's not important.

My own feelings,

My own sadness,

Is nothing compared to that of the ones I hold dear.

They are my top priority,

And I can't let them down.

They need for me to always be happy,

So that it's easier for them to be happy.

They need me to be there for them.

So I have to fake my happiness,

So that they can be happy.

Maybe then will I be truly happy.

So I know the picture isn't a flower this time, but I thought this picture worked perfectly for this. It's so sad how Patton tries to hide his feelings for the benefit of the others. Sometimes I feel like I do that. I usually have to hide how I'm feeling, if not for the benefit of others then to hide it from my parents. I hate crying in front of them, and they get upset with me for some reason if I so much as look annoyed. It's... frustrating to say the least. But anyway, I will be sure to work on a happier poem, because honestly, I'm starting to depress myself lol.
