Sometimes is a stupid word

And so is maybe

Why can't you make up your damn mind,

And stop treating me like a baby?

You left me behind yet again,

To claw at the pressing air

I'm all alone in this world

But for my friends: fear and despair.

Fear that the nothingness inside

Will never leave me

Despair for all I want some day

that always ignores my plea.

Your indecision haunts me

Your words tear through my soul

I hope someday you realize

Without you I'm not whole.

I gave you a piece of me

Foolish enough to believe

That you would protect and treasure

Not leave me behind to grieve.

But now I want you to know

I've grown stronger, baby

Because I hardly think of you

Only sometimes...maybe.
