Jack o lantern!

(I have chosen - "Jack o lantern - pumpkin carving" as a classic monster!)

I come once a year

To ward off the evils

With the lantern inside

I come with a close-up smile

Ready to take in the bad

Pushing the dark away

I come to have fun with kids

Carving and lighting, they enjoy

Putting me into the perfect shape

I come as a round ball

And pals call me jack o' lantern

As I sway away from the stingy JACK
