14. Living water
A thirsty woman stands on the shore
Ocean's expanse before her
Golden sand crumbles in her step
Rushing waves gather
Dry parched and broken
Her throat cries for moisture
Reaching toward the sea
Her hands scoop the water
Drinking deeply of the sea
Her soul cries in torment
Thirstier now than ever
Will she find her refreshment?
So much water in her gaze
Yet not a drop she can drink
Weight of her sorrow
Causes her heart to sink
"Let the waves rush
Cover me with your fury
What can quench my thirst
What can satisfy?"
A gentle hand holds hers
She tears her gaze away
loosing sight of the sea
Turning to the light of day
The morning star
Saviour of the world
The Lord of heav'n and earth
Comforter and friend
"If you would ask of me
I will give you living water
that shall satisfy
your thirst forever."
...
The world shall drown us
In its sorrows and pain
presenting a satisfaction
you shall never gain
Christ has the Living water
"Come unto me" He calls
"and I will give you life."
Such love that falls
Waterfalls of love
Cascading my soul
Giving me peace and joy
Making me whole
