Society!

Weird is how you'd define me,

Different is what I am.

I'm not big on society,

Or for what it stands...

I'm not against it, per se,

I just have a different view..

And I don't let it dictate

What I should or should not do!

If you want me to follow,

Better be fit to lead!

Tell me the why's and wherefore's,

And convince me to believe!

Don't bind me with your traditions,

Or make me toe the line!

I won't be confined by your limitations,

I wish to have an open mind!

Your opinion is irrelevant

And any attempt to sway me, in vain...

Your input valued, if well meant,

And ignored, when laced with disdain.

I'm not alone in my beliefs.

Our numbers grow larger by the day.

We're not meek or naive,

We forge ahead, in our own way.

Beware the wrath of my kind,

We cannot be subdued by archaic notions!

Don't expect us to follow you blind,

We require the reasons behind your convictions!
