Rockabye (LostUnity) (c)
Rockabye
She works by the seaside,
A regular breeze sweeps her hair aside.
An image of a boy, six years old,
Not even nature's howl can turn the image cold.
Her only desire - a life for the boy,
Her only wish - the treasure used other than a toy.
Her once cunning ploy,
Forgotten; burnt - to strengthen the heartened alloy.
For she chimes him a Rockabye,
Rocks him side to side as if she will say goodbye.
She promises him his life wouldn't be like hers,
Yet the boy doesn't know, her voice is his soothing slur.
Body rings around freezing steel,
They don't even show her affection to heal.
Yet she continues to dance and cry,
So she can sing to her child, one last Rockabye.
