i remember when

my children were young

and played with all their friends in the yard

not a blade of grass

would ever grow

even though it tried so hard

i planted seed

and put up a fence

to try and get a lawn

but in only two days

the seeds were stomped

and even the fence was gone

i decided to try

one more time

if it failed, i would plant spuds

i planted the seed

watered it down

and put up a sign ....
