I thought I saw


A thousand sailing ships


They were just pictures in the sand

I walked the beach


Sand on my feet


Like I was walking


In the Holy land

A million pilgrims

I climbed the cliff


At the beaches end


Hoping to find


The promised land


I thought I saw someone


Waiting for me


He was just a picture in the sand

I shouted out


From atop the cliff


A message meant


For every woman and man


I thought I saw


Humanity below me


They were just pictures in the sand
.


I looked below


The waves spoke to me


And the waves


Formed a hand


A voice whispered

Come, come to me
"
