In years to come

I'll venture forth

With knowledge that I have gained

From your patience

And your guidance

Your loving and your pain

Though I won't say

That you have made

A better person out of me

You have helped me find

The Me inside

The person I am meant to be

I can see now

It wasn't just

Life's lessons that you've shown

You showed me the way

To a new and better day

You have taught and watched me grow

And in years to come

I may venture far

Have encounters of every kind

But the one I will remember

Most of all
