Prologue

Inside a large dark stone room sat a single Eevee bound by a chain around his neck. On the other side of the stone room sat a ledge, and on that ledge lay a bag filled to the brim with items. The Eevee feeling defeated lays limp on the ground contemplating what he should do next.

I need to get out of here, I need to stop Him. But how am I supposed to stop him if I'm trapped in here? Now would be a good time to have them with me. But they're gone, and I can do nothing about it. The Eevee lets a single tear fall from his eyes as it dawns on him how helpless his situation is.

He beat all three of us like it was nothing, and with all his minions I stand no chance on my own.

Suddenly the Eevee could hear a cracking sound coming from below him, glancing down he noticed a light peeking through the floor. Then suddenly the floor fully opened up and the Eevee began dangling from the chain around his neck. He was suffocating slowly.

Panic taking over he moved his paws up to try and give his neck room to breathe but nothing was working. Try as he might he couldn't get his paws under it. The ground was shaking violently along with the ceiling of his prison, chancing a glance at his bag he watched as a rock from the ceiling fell onto the ledge with his bag. The Eevee watched as the bag was launched into the air in his direction, thinking quickly he began swinging his chain. Through the pain, he managed to catch his bag as it began to fall into the abyss below him.

Reaching into it he grabbed a sharp rock he kept in case of an emergency and began cutting the chain miraculously the tension in it made it easier to break apart and he felt himself begin to fall. Reaching up quickly he grabbed onto the chain while still holding his bag and began climbing up to the room.

As he reached the top again all he could see was devastation. The ceiling of his prison was no more, being replaced with the midday sky. But it wasn't at the same time. The sky had turned blood red and he could see parts of the ground being pulled into a large blue and red object in the sky.

He was too late to save his world. He had been working for months to try and prevent this devastation but it was to no avail. The second he got himself captured his world had been doomed to a horrible fate.

The realization of millions of innocent lives being taken, while the last emotion they would ever feel was fear.

Neko, Olly, I'm sorry. I couldn't avenge you. I hope I see you guys in the afterlife. Turning to his right he quickly went to jump out a hole that had formed in the wall. He could feel the object trying to pull him in, but he refused to let himself be taken without a fight.

He was an agile Eevee who knew his way around this world. He had explored almost every inch of it in his life for one reason or another. He knew his only hope of escaping was the obelisk at the ocean shore. He and his friends had a failsafe in case they weren't successful, the obelisk would take him somewhere else that was not being destroyed. He just had to put in the obelisk disc and everything would work itself out.

Running through dense forests for what felt like hours the Eevee reached the mystery dungeon that housed the obelisk. Quickly entering he could feel the deadness in the air. Most of the ferals were hiding from what was going on in the world.

I guess that makes my life easier. Speeding his way through the dungeon avoiding the urge to pick up items along the way. No matter how badly he should stock up on Oran berries.

Reaching the final floor was easy not having to fight anything, however. Lying before the Eevee stood three passageways all branching off in different directions. Tapping into his mind he imagined all the different paths and felt around for how each one felt.

Left? Dead end... Middle? Maybe... Right? Not. Middle it is. Sprinting down the tunnel he felt something pulling him backwards. When the Eevee turned around he saw the ground behind him being broken into pieces before being sucked into the sky.

When he saw the stairs it was a race against time itself, and he won. When he climbed the stairs it was peaceful again, though that wouldn't last long. Running towards the obelisk. As he neared the obelisk however he was suddenly hit sideways towards the water.

When he looked over he froze in terror. Standing between the Eevee and the obelisk was a Haunter with a wicked smile on his face.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? You managed to escape my prison, and now you plan on leaving this dimension to avoid your inevitable demise. I must say, Tamao you've impressed me. But your journey, and your life. Ends Here!" The Haunter said launching a dark pulse at Tamao who quickly dodged to his left towards the obelisk.

"You're wrong Nightshade, I'm not going to die here."

"HA, don't make me laugh! Your efforts and your sacrifices mean nothing. I've taken everything you once loved and now it's time to send you to the afterlife, with everyone else!" Nightshade shouted before pinning Tamao to the ground.

"I'll stop you Nightshade, no matter what it takes," Tamao said before spitting in Nightshade's face enraging him.

"You'll die before you ever get the chance. I'll destroy every world till time itself is just a blank void. And no matter what, I will always be one step ahead. I'll always be stronger than you tamao. And you want to know why?" Nightshade moved close to Tamao's ear. "You are nothing, but a weak child who relied on other's strength to get this far in life. And now, you're all alone. You are worth less than any grain of sand on this here beach. Creatures like you should all suffer, especially you!"

Hearing enough tamao managed to wriggle out of the hold and used a quick attack to knock Nightshade back before using a quick attack again to get right beside the obelisk. Grabbing the disc again he shoved it into the hole in the obelisk. Looking behind him he saw Nightshade give him a death glare as he grabbed something from behind his back and threw it towards Tamao before floating away. Feeling something sharp hit his neck Tamao blacked out.

Inari was walking towards the town square just like every morning. She was going shopping for her mother. Thankfully the Kecleon market always had her mother's order ready in the morning, this was always good for Inari as she preferred to not socialize with anyone around town. They would always ask such personal questions that she felt uncomfortable even thinking about.

The town square was small, it had a small cafe to the left and a few shops lining the streets. What always caught Inari's attention though was the dojo. Though she wasn't brave enough to venture in she would still sit outside for hours on end.

Then there was also the path to the town's guild. It was renowned for being one of the hardest to get into as they had high standards for any apprentices. Inari had dreamed of joining the guild but was always too afraid of failing to even enter. Sighing she began the walk back to her and her mother's house.

The walk was peaceful enough not experiencing anything noteworthy, except for the occasional male pokemon watching her. It always made her uncomfortable how several looked at her like she was an object. When she got home she opened the door and saw her mother meditating in the corner of the room.

She appeared to have a distressed look on her face while she was contemplating something in her mind.

Inari just sat in the corner and waited for her mother to speak, and when she did she sounded unsettled.

"Hello Inari, I hope everything went well?" The Ninetales asked the Vulpix.

"Yes mother, how was your meditating?"

"I felt a great disturbance in the universe. But I can't put my paws on it." The Ninetales responded looking towards the ceiling.

"I'm sure everything will be alright Mom, things always work out," Inari said trying to comfort her.

"I hope you're right Inari, why don't you go explore a dungeon? It'll be good practice for when you finally decide to join the guild.

"Sure Mom, I'll be back later."

Where should I go though? Maybe Shroud Lake?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Falling. That was all Tamao could feel as he traveled through the void. The empty, cold void. He knew it wouldn't be a pleasant experience but this was far worse than he imagined. He could feel his legs freezing as the air seemed to both be still and moving.

Finally, he saw a bright light that he was approaching at a rapid pace. So fast that once he blinked he was suddenly in a completely different location, still falling mind you but now he could see colors of all kinds. Mostly green but Tamao wasn't about to complain.

Looking below himself Tamao saw a lake that was rapidly approaching, trying to get his paws in front of him to break the impact of the fall into the water he realized it was hopeless as his legs were seemingly paralyzed for the moment.

Then he slammed into the lake at speeds that would easily break bones. However, Tamao felt fine, aside from not having feelings in his legs when he needed to swim to stay alive.

Try as he might his legs weren't cooperating, and that would mean certain death. About to give up hope Tamao closed his eyes and let himself be dragged down to the depths of the lake.

Suddenly a large force made an impact with his back and he was sent flying out of the water at a rapid pace a violent thud could be heard when he landed.

Tamao heard a gasp before his consciousness began to fade. Suddenly Tamao heard a female voice. "Oh, my Arceus! Are you alright?"

Tamso couldn't respond, he was too weak to do anything other than groan in pain.

"I'll get you out of here, don't worry. You'll be okay."
