This Isn't The Right Journey...
My feet are numb. I can barely stand. I can't fly. The cold wind blowing by stings my scarf and cloak. I try to call for help, for another Wayfarer out there, but I can't find anyone. I'm all alone. I lost my partner a while ago, to one of the dragon-like War Machines swimming through the air. They were made to hunt Wayfarers like me down. I don't know why.
A strong gust of wind knocks me off my feet and I go rolling back through the powdery white snow until I hit a piece of a broken pillar. When the gust stops, I crawl behind it, and it shields me from the cold a little bit, but not enough. As I lay my head against it, my eyes slowly close. I can't believe I'm going to die here. When I was so close to finding Trancendence...
I wake up with a start and sit up. Looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings, I realize I'm not in the desert anymore. Nor am I on the mountain...
The mountain! I have to go back! I have to climb to the top so I can find Trancendence! I quickly get up from the giant pillow thing that I woke up on and look around. This is a strange room, with different things I haven't ever seen before, like a small, purple, humanoid figure and a rectangle with glowing symbols that read "12:05." I chirp, calling for anyone out there. This room seems to be empty.
I go out the door on the left and traverse down the hall. There is a small table with a vase-looking thing. It seems like it's wearing a hat. I look to my left and also see framed pictures of what look like a human family. What is this?
I continue down the hall, chirping my song, my cloak and scarf glowing occasionally. As I come to the end, I notice a smaller, dead-end hallway with an X in the middle of the floor, four doors, two on either side, and a small white chair at the end. I walk into the hallway and trip over something, landing facefirst. I roll over and shake my head before sitting up to see what I tripped over.
It's a small figure with rabbit ears and eyes that pierce into my very soul, with stitches all over its body, and a bloodstained grin. I tilt my head to the side and chirp a hello.
"Heya!...Um... kid? Person? Whatever?" He says, clearly confused. I try to tell him that I'm a Wayfarer, that I came from the mountain, that I need to get back, but it's clear he doesn't understand my language. "Okay...? Anyways, uh, You don't know why you're here, do you?" I shake my head in response. His grin returns. "Great. I'm Plushtrap! Nice to meet'cha!" Then his voice turns deeper and somewhat demonic; "And I'll be the last person you'll ever meet." He giggles slightly and sticks out his hand, probably for me to shake.
I don't have arms...
His smile fades and he stares at me, annoyed. "You are just completely clueless, aren't you?" My head droops slightly. He sighs and says, "well, let's get this over with. Wanna play a game?" I perk up and nod, chirping. "Great! Basically, your job is to stop me on that X. I sit here on my chair-" He points to the chair behind me. "- and you sit here, at the beginning of the hall. You have a flashlight, and you have to shine it on me to stop me from moving! If you don't catch me, at the end of the time limit or I get past the X, you die. Got it?"
I tilt my head. What is a flashlight?
He groans and covers his face with his hands. "I knew I should've picked a different universe... these Wayfarers are idiots." My head hangs as I hear that phrase. He takes out a small stick with a red button and places it at the end of the hall. "Click. The button. To stop me. Got it?" Finally getting it, I nod and he sighs in relief. "Thank God. Okay, you have 90 seconds. Ready?" He rushes to the end of the dark hall and I fly over to the supposed "flashlight" with the help of my scarf. "Set... GO!" I flinch and step on the red button with one of my pointy feet. A light illuminates from the stick, shining onto the bunny. I step on it again and it turns off. Fascinating!
After a bit, I hear shuffling and click the button again. Plushtrap is sitting on the floor in front of the chair, but jumps back on when the light turns on. I turn the light off and wait patiently.
I hear more scuffling and turn on the light. He has ducked into one of the doors and he moves out of sight when the light turns on. He got closer. I chirp quietly in fear and turn off the light.
More noises. I turn on the light and he falls straight onto the X, surprised. I chirp happily and fly up, flipping midair. I did it! He gets up and dusts himself off, growling lowly. "Fine. You win, you little brat." If I had a tongue (I don't even have a mouth), I would stick it out at him. Serves him right!
"But you're still going to die."
My happy nature fades away as he shoots me a hellish grin. I try to back up, but bump into something and turn around to see. Looking up, I realize this is not going to end well...
"Goodbye, Wayfarer."
The shadow in front of me grabs me and lets out static that deafens me! I struggle to escape, but it's no use. I feel my eyes closing as the monster's grip tightens...
I shoot up and find myself in a warm room, illuminated by an ichor lamp. I'm not dead? I peek out the entrance and see that I'm back on the mountain! I was given another chance! I hear chirps from beside me. My language! I look beside me and see them. A White Wayfarer. One who has gained Trancendence. He asks me if I'm alright. I nod and thank him for bringing me in, then I look out the entrance again. My journey isn't over yet. We only have so far to go...

Thank you, Cole_Goodrich! If it wasn't clear, I used a Wayfarer from the game Journey. I thought it would be easy, seeing as how I'd played this marvelous game more than twice and know the nature of the character. But it was actually a little difficult, because the Wayfarers aren't human. They don't have arms, and they don't speak English, and they've spent their whole existence in a desert. Wayfaring is all they know. But overall, this story was really fun and I would love to, again, thank Cole for inspiring me to do this. See you later, Mi Amigos, and have a great day!
