summary:

artemis shin had been lost ever since the apocalypse started. she had to watch how most of her family was eaten alive and now she lived everyday in fear of her own life ending in the same cruesome way. having found a small cabin in the woods she spend most of her days in hiding, eating whatever food her loyal dog would bring her. she had learned how to hunt, how to make fires and how to keep herself alive. she was alive, yes, but what she truly dreamed off was salvation from her lonely life in the woods.

daryl dixon thought he would never feel truly happy again after watching that bridge blow up and see his best friend finally being taken away by the brutality of this new world. he left alexandria, feeling like he wasn't allowed to live there happily and safely when his brother could still be out there. living alone in the woods, searching everyday for a sign of life was the punishment he had given himself for not being able to safe the person who had saved him. what he never expected though was to find salvation in an old cabin.

- this idea was born upon listening to the song salvation by gabrielle aplin. so if you're interested in this plot, i suggest you listen to it. i wanted to make a simple story about daryl finding salvation after falling into a dark pit after losing rick. this salvation coming in the form of artemis shin.

- artemis is a very quiet and closed off girl. she has lost her parents, her little brother and her best friend, basically everyone and so it will take a long time for her to let daryl in out of fear she might loose him too. of course, the same can be said for daryl since we all know how he is. their relationship should not be rushed, you have six years to get them to spend time together so i would like to see a few chapters of just the two of them before going into the second half of season 9.

- artemis is definitely not helpless but she isn't this great fighter either. she has never used a gun before so don't make her an excellent shot without giving her proper training. she can use spears and knives and such because she uses those to hunt and protect herself. i see her as this shy girl with a lot of dreams. one of the things she loves to do is drawing and i imagine her cabin being filled with all these drawings of nature and her family, it's a way to spend time for her as well as getting her mind of things.

- also dog is in fact artemis her dog. i thought it would funny to make daryl find her by seeing dog in the forest and following him and in doing so finding artemis her cabin, but that is up to you really. i just had this idea in my head of artemis her little brother naming the dog, well dog, and so his name was born.

- i would like for you to not change artemis her name because she is named after the goddess of the hunt which says a lot about her situation and about daryl as well. you can change the faceclaim if you wish but please don't do so without asking.
