“The hell…?”

The Hyperion approaches the area with utmost caution, despite the crew's navigating experience, they still think this will be a huge trouble, not just for them, but for anyone else. Because the storm… Was even stronger than before, it covered the entire area, except for the mountain, where they can see Benares is lying on.

And the dragon, of course, noticed them, but she still hasn’t made a move yet.

“What now, Captain? It set up a pretty good welcoming party for us, infantry will be useless because of the storm.” - One of the navigators asked you.

“...” - You are keeping calm to analyze the current situation, therefore making the best options that could help your side. “Are our shields still on?”

“Shield integrity at 100% sir.”

“Good… Here’s our plan.” - You looked at the dragon.

Benares waited patiently, until Hyperion had started to move towards her, she stood up, and spread out both of her wings, then she howled. From the air around her, which has nothing else, giant icicles were formed out of nowhere, and Benares launched them towards Hyperion with a strong wind coming from behind her.

“Now!”

Seconds before the icicles hit the shield of the ship, Hyperion launches some smoke screens out, which completely covers Hyperion, this could be considered a protection since Benares wouldn’t know if they do something, such as preparing a big gun.

But Benares does not think for much, she flaps her wings and hovers in the air, if they want to approach her, they have to get away from their own cover. But before she gave them time to respond, she created more icicles, more in numbers but smaller in size, and attempted to rain onto Hyperion, draining its shield.

To her surprise, Hyperion got out of its cover with some guns prepared, all pointed directly at Benares. Missiles and armor piercing rounds were launched and fired rapidly at the dragon. The missiles exploded on impact, creating black smoke which covered Benares in, but it would quickly go off a bit later, just to reveal that Benares did not even have a scratch on her scales, let alone these would break through her scales.

“You’ve gotta be kidding me… Those shells were no joke man.” - Some guys managing some turrets said. “How the hell.”

“My turn.” - Benares launched all those icicles from earlier down to Hyperion, its shield being drained by that attack slowly, and would recover soon enough.

Benares decided that she won’t go for ranged attack, as Hyperion is properly equipped against it, and the only way to deal with it, is a devastating melee attack. She raised both of her front legs, which would be her arms, of course, summoned two giant icicles which she grasped tightly.

She then launches herself down with a flap of her wings, boosting her speed, building momentum for this upcoming attack that would certainly pierce through the Hyperion’s shield. When she got closer to the ship, she saw some people standing on the dock, they were equipped… They are standing there… They are… not afraid of her, a true dragon.

For they are Valkyries, the ones that will bring her down.

Himeko, in her mech suit, was the first one to go, she jumped towards the descending dragon, with her greatsword in arms, she swung it really hard and blocked Benares’ right icicle, stopping it. Next up, Fu Hua, she followed Himeko and destroyed the icicle through unexplainable means of martial arts, and pure strength of a former MANTIS.

And so, Benares’ attack was stopped, but that wasn’t all. Kiana, Mei, and Bronya, the trio knocked the dragon away back to the mountain with a powerful attack, however, it does only leave a scratch on the dragon’s scale. Benares landed safely, but she is on the ground now, not in the air, where she would have more advantage fighting against Valkyries.

But she doesn’t care, after all, why would a dragon be afraid? It’s not like they all would wield lighting spears and spam the shit out of her until she dies because lightning is her only weakness? Benares is not weak to lightning, she is weak to one thing… So secret that I will not tell any of you.

She howled, but nothing happens, the Hyperion’s ordinary staffs thought it was the scream of a concerned animal, but for the experienced ones, they knew it was a message.

Come, face me down here, face to face, if you dare.

"..."

Normally, for ordinary Honkai beasts, it would be much more clever to go straight to the exterminatus. But for strong and intelligent foes like Benares, the same couldn't be applied, especially for her. Because Benares is a strong dragon, even though they have been able to bring it down, nothing ensures that it will not fly again, and do more devastating ranged attacks. It is dangerous and risky if she does, for Valkyries are extremely vulnerable against these icicles when they are outside of Hyperion's protection.

But going down there facing it directly will have the same issue, right now, you are thinking on which option to pick, and how to ensure safety for Valkyries, or minimum casualties.

"Captain, trust us." - Elysia talked to you through comms. "There is no need for absolute safety when it comes to us, because we are the spearhead of mankind, if we don't press on, who will?"

"....."

You silenced for a moment, before giving out another order.

"All Valkyries, attack Benares." - You said.

"Roger!!!" - All the girls responded.

"Everyone! Prepare our guns again! Make sure to take down all the icicles that Benares creates!" - You gave another order to the people on Hyperion.

"Roger!!!" - They all responded.

"I'm sorry but… I won't." - You said as you continued looking at the dragon, who is staring at the Valkyries slowly making their way down to the ground from Hyperion.

"Ow ow… Been a while since I landed from such height."

"So this is the legendary Benares we've learned in history books? Certainly interesting…"

"Keep your guard up, girls. We're not going to come home in one piece if you guys keep fooling around."

(I would like to clarify the fact that some Valkyries are not going to be included in Hyperion's crew yet, such as Durandal or Rita, as they were still part of Immortal Blades. However, there would be some extra girls that is basically my creation (Marika for example, but ik she not in Hyperion), some would be named as Erika, Yamashiro, Dez Nuz, Catto Sicca-risus,... Yes I am funni, but don't worry they are only to serve as cannon fodders so that no other girls will have to die *evil laugh*)

All the Valkyries have gathered in front of Benares, in order to take it down, this is a rare sight even for some who work on Hyperion. For only some is enough to clean a horde, but for all of them… Is something else. Which means Benares is threatening enough to be faced by them.

Even though they can't see it, some Valkyries actually felt that Benares smiled gently, before inhaling the cold air and spit out ice blocks. Those were not a trouble to most Valkyries, but what followed up after the ice blocks were the freezing breath which Benares used earlier, now she’s freezing the Valkyries. Most of them got their feet stuck because of the ice, but they quickly broke free from it and got closer to Benares. Some got a few hits on the dragon, which damaged her a bit, while the others were charging up for their attacks. And the Dragon jumped back, flapped her wings and got herself in the air again, but she wasn’t going to fly.

It was the opposite, she was going to do a sweep attack on the ground by herself, she flapped the wings again and did the said attack, she was massive, yet so fast, an undodgeable attack that is surely devastating, left some severe damage on the Valkyries’ formation, now they are shattered into smaller groups.
Benares turned back and did another freezing breath attack, combined with some claws attack, she was wiping the floor with them. Until Fu Hua came in and stopped one of her claw attacks like a boss, she then pushed the dragon back, causing it to lose balance.

Kiana kicked it in the face, Mei and Himeko tried to cut it down, damaging its scales, Fu Hua took an offensive stance and released a barrage of punches on its chest. All of the Valkyries joined, thinking they could have damaged Benares seriously. In truth, even Benares thought it was going to be the end of her, but even she forgot one thing…….

A True Dragon is not a joke. The pain she received from the attacks soon would become fuel for her upcoming attack. A signature attack of the True Dragons, no matter which type they are, Benares was taught this. She spun around with her claws, pushing her enemies back and jumped backwards. The Valkyries pushed on without being careful, they’ll have to pay for it.

Benares stood still, the others quickly took this as an advantage to get closer to it, but the closer they are, the better they can see the light coming out from Benares’ mouth, it is facing down, with its mouth opened, there’s a light… They don’t know what it is but it is coming out from Benares’ mouth.

Benares shoots a laser beam from its mouth, cutting everything it hits in half like a blade, the ground was split in pieces after Benares directed the beam around, and finally, she directed the beam towards the Valkyries.

"Watch out!" - A Valkyrie pushed her friends out of the way since she saw the laser was coming towards them.

Her hand got erased immediately when the beam phased through, she didn't even feel pain, it was so sudden. The attack was so fast that she didn't even know she lost an arm already.

A strong gust of wind and explosions followed after the laser, they were strong enough to blow these Valkyries away from their current position.

"Watch out for that attack!"

"We need a medic here!"

"Shit! Shit! Shit!"

Benares continues to direct the beam around, causing massive damage to both the mountain and the Valkyries, some have already died, the majority are injured.

And even, the laser hits the Hyperion which was flying close by, two of its engines got hit and is now forced to land.

"God pissing shit! What the hell is that?" - One of the navigators of Hyperion said as they got up from the floor, after the emergency landing.

"I don't know… Report." - You got up as well, but what concerns you the most at the moment is the safety of your Valkyries. You looked pale when you witnessed Benares destroying the mountain with the laser beam.

"AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN WILL THIS ENDDD!!!!!!" - Kiana hiding below the cracks on the ground with some other Valkyries, they are frightened by this attack of Benares.

Somewhere close by, on the surface, are some badly injured Valkyries, they couldn't move or protect themselves.

When the beam almost hit them, Fu Hua came in with her Edge of Taixuan, managed to stop it in time. But she can't hold for long, and fortunately, Benares is not focusing on her. Exactly one minute later, Benares stopped the beam attack, but it collapsed to the ground, seemingly tired.

The others there were confused, they didn't know why Benares was down. But they had to be quick and take advantage of this, some of the remaining Valkyries charged forth. Himeko was the closest one to Benares, although her greatsword held her speed back. But she was very close to landing a hit on its vulnerable head.

“Please don’t get up. Please just stay DOWN!!” - Himeko yelled the word Down as she leaped forward with the sword being held by her right hand behind her, she grinded her teeth as she begged this attack to finish the dragon, and she swung it, doing a downward attack.

In theory, her sword would have at least cracked Benares’ skull, leaving a critical damage to the dragon if it did not kill it. However, things were different from what they thought, Benares got up, and raised her head towards the blade, Himeko was surprised that she stopped grinding her teeth, but her mouth opened slightly.

Not only that, she shattered Himeko’s greatsword, the thing that could cut through big mechs like butter, it could only mean one thing… Its head protection was way harder than these mechs.

They still tried to attack Benares anyways, but barely any of their attacks left a critical wound on her, Benares flapped her wings and flew up. She has decided this is enough, no more playing with her food. Until she was stopped by the missiles launched from Hyperion, and shots from its turrets. Benares tanked a few hits before evading the shots, she changes her attention to Hyperion instead.
“Come on Come on! That’s some tough shit!”

“Releasing combat drones!”

“Shield engine 5 and 6 is now activated, shield integrity at 150%.”

Hyperion joins the battle under your command, you hoped this decision would turn the tide of the fight, but you had prepared for the worst in your mind, and stared at the dragon charging herself straight to the ship.

“Evade now!”

The ship tried to dodge Benares’ charge attack but it was too late, Benares hit the ship, the shield was protecting it, but Benares pushed it down to the ground, the damage when Hyperion collided with the mountain was devastating. More than half of the crew would have died from the impact if it was not for the shield, the actual casualty was minimized, only some people died, but a lot of the remaining was injured, some parts of the ships are damaged, Hyperion wouldn’t be able to get back in the air soon as long as Benares still roams the skies.

“CAPTAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“OH MY GOD”

“IS EVERYONE OKAY? ANSWER ME! ANYONE! ARE YOU ALL OKAY?”

The Valkyries’ morale dropped really hard when they saw the pride of Schicksal fall to the ground, so easily, with no resistance. But still, they were not giving up yet, they stood up once again, gathered around and charged forward to the dragon.

The rangers tried to take it down, while the melee fighters tried to reach Hyperion to check if people inside were still safe. But the strong winds of the snowstorm are preventing them to.

In Hyperion, on the bridge, mostly everything that isn’t nailed to the floor has scattered everywhere here, including the crew members, who have been injured thanks to the fall. Some of them are getting back up immediately, and either trying to restore the system or trying to wake the others up.

One guy from the artillery squad approaches you, who has been knocked unconscious on the floor right now, and your forehead is bleeding, it seems like you bumped your head into something hard. He slaps your face gently.

“Wake up Captain. Wake up, wake up!” - He said as he slapped you on the cheeks.

“bzzrrtttt. bzztt.” - The others are trying to restore the communication system with the Valkyries, it has been damaged and shut down.

“Ai-chan, can you restore the engines?” - One of the crew members asked.
“No can do, Hyperion is severely damaged after the fall. Without the shield, we are weak to these devastating attacks.” - Ai-chan quickly responded. “I could help you guys restore the comms, as well as inform the medical squads if they are available.”

“Yes, please do quick.”

“Rick is not waking up!”

“Rosaline! Don’t leave me here!”

They realize there are people who actually died from the impact, and now the guy is worrying that you might have been in danger as well, so he tries harder to wake you up.

“Come on Captain, wake up!” - He said loudly as he slapped your face, but eventually stopped when your cheeks turned red.

“Comms restored!”

“Captai- Capt- Captain? You safe there?” - Himeko was the first to contact, followed by the other Valkyries, some of them asked the same as Himeko, but some of them asked for artillery support, while few of them asked if they could get the injured taken to safety.

“Where’s the Captain?”

Many of them forgot about you already after the fall, but Himeko’s question reminded them, and some of them got worried for you.

“Permission to retreat, Major Himeko! The damage we received has exceeded expectations! If we continue to fight Benares like this, we might be wiped out!” - The guy said.

Some others already looked at him, with the look of “really?”, or even “he’s right…”, after all, losing the head of the command is only second worst to losing an entire army.

Himeko kept on thinking carefully, only in seconds that she made the decision in her head.

“Alright, we will get the injured ones out of this area, reinforcements should arrive here soon, hopefully the remaining Valkyries can hold it here long enough. Deploy all our transport ships, make it quick.” - Himeko said as she picked up a sword, from a dead Valkyrie.

Now given command, the guy quickly takes you, who is still unconscious to the hangar, which is luckily not blocked or damaged, all the ships and planes there are still intact. The others and the pilots of the planes would quickly follow after you. The guy quickly locates a small extraction ship and boards it, putting you lying on the comfortable line of chairs.

“We’re leaving! Anyone with us?” - The guy asked as he looked if there are any injured people looking for a ride, but soon stopped by a loud exploding sound from the outside, seems like things won’t allow him to wait.

“Go now! Do not let the Captain die here!”

Without any further waiting, the small extraction ship takes off from Hyperion, heading back to the south. The guy hurried and tried to fly this thing as fast as he could, but he was stopped by a hand placed on his shoulder. In shock, he looked over and saw you standing there, a little bit pale on your face but you’re okay.

“Captain!”

“Return… Now!” - You asked him calmly as you looked around and at the radar.

“We can’t! We need to get you to safety, we cannot risk losing you!” - He quickly responded, not intending to return.

“Let the injured ones fall back… But not me, without me, who is going to lead them towards victory? What is a commander’s purpose if he is the first one to retreat to safety?” - You said.

The guy was left speechless, you took this as the chance to continue persuading him.

“Listen, we are here to fight.”

“... Roger that.”

“Let me.”

You took control of the small ship, turning on the comms and checking the radar before hovering around, and making your way back to the mountain. But before you contact Hyperion or anyone else, you asked the guy.

“What’s your name?”

“Jarek.”

“I appreciate that you were dedicated to bring me back to safety, Jarek.”

Now you started to turn the ship around, and finally made contact with the crew.

“This is Captain Y/n speaking, all stations, report.” - You said, as you carefully observe the battlefield.

More drones and fighter planes were deployed to assist the Valkyries fighting Benares. You even saw some people armed themselves with guns and some heavy weapons, charged outside. What saddens you more besides the casualties is the Hyperion on the ground.

Soon, you would receive the reports about the casualties that the entire crew has received since the battle has started.

Things are looking pretty grim right now, as Hyperion is grounded, most of its guns might have proven efficient against Benares, not to mention the limited numbers of transports they have to move the injured ones away… And the unclear numbers of Valkyries have died.

But as you thought things couldn't get even worse, you picked up some strange, unidentified signals on the radar. They are approaching your crew from the west.

And you received reports from the Hyperion, stating that more enemies have arrived. Those are Honkai beasts.

Meanwhile, far away or by the road.

The Royal Blades are performing an exterminatus on a small, abandoned town, occupied by dozens of Honkai worshippers.

They came here in response to a distress signal requesting aid from an Anti-Entropy mechanical squad.

"Ah, thank you, great master of the Royal Blades. We would have been doomed if you had arrived later." - One of the mechanics said.

"Don't mention it, it's the right thing to do after all." - Commander Ravenblood of the Royal Blades humbled, as he smiled. "We are all together, on one side. We should be working together more in order to achieve our goals, and win against our eternal enemy."

"Ah, I'm glad you said so. And not gonna lie, we were kinda scared."

"Oh it must be, you poor mechanics. Being tempted into the path of the fallen by these disgusting-simps-that-once-stood-alongside-with-us would be truly, scary." - Ravenblood said. "It must be all about heresy."

"N- no, not actually."

"Oh?"

"I mean… not gonna lie, some of them… words sound rather interesting."

"Uh huh, keep going?" - Ravenblood secretly draws a pistol from his pocket.

"Like, the Queen's Feet and all… but what we were scared of the most…" - The mechanic hasn't noticed anything yet, Ravenblood silently racking his pistol behind his ass, and the other mechanics wanting to stop him but got held at gunpoint by the other Royal Blades, who are looking at them furiously.

"Like, you guys might purge us for that sort of thing… ah hahaha!" - The mechanic laughed.

Ravenblood laughed as well, in a friendly way. Well not until he fucking shoot the mechanic into the face, and order the others to slaughter the rest as well.

And then order his men to skin them and hang whatever remains of them on these houses with the cultists corpses as a warning… yeah or none of that happened and it was all Otto's dream while he was playing with his cock.
