"Uh, sir. Anxiety is-"

"Oh my- again?!"

Rushing out of his front door after changing into his suit, Roman used his increased speed to follow the trail of carnage that had no doubt been left behind by his enemy, Anxiety.

The hero had no idea what his real name was, and didn't care to. Anxiety was a stubborn, cruel individual whose only source of joy was the suffering of others.

And besides, he was infuriatingly attractive.

With an irritated sigh, Roman, or 'Prince' as he was known to the people he protected, spotted the familiar dark cloud that loomed over Anxiety's head. This was possibly the source of his powers, but Roman was unsure of that as well. Honestly, he was pretty unsure of everything about the villain. "Can't you take a vacation every once in a while?!"

Hearing the man's yell, Anxiety smirked and floated gracefully to the ground, crossing his arms and flicking his fringe out of his eyes. "Where would I go?"

Roman huffed out a sigh. "Oh, I don't know. Hell, perhaps?"

In response, Anxiety merely scoffed and rolled his eyes, placing on hand on his hip. "Very original. Why don't you take a vacation there? I've heard that they have plenty of time on their hands, so they could take care of you. You are rather high maintenance, Princey."

God, how Roman despised that nickname!

Anxiety brushed a hand through his hair, a smirk still stretched across his face. Groaning in frustration, Roman attempted to will away the heat that was slowly burning up his cheeks. Why, oh why did he have to be so damn attractive?!

"Apparently not as much as you are." Roman retorted, gesturing to the scrap bits of metal surrounding them. "Don't you get tired of being such an asshole, Anxiety?"

Raising an eyebrow, Anxiety shrugged, causing Roman to sigh loudly once again. "You are incorrigible... Rick?"

"Nope." Anxiety shook his head.

Roman sighed again, jumped up into the air and unsheathed his sword, looking down at Anxiety expectantly. "Are we doing this or what?"

Smirking, the darkly dressed villain balled up his hands and slowly separated them to reveal purple sparks of electricity shooting between his fingers. It would have been beautiful if Roman wasn't currently focused on destroying him. "Come at me, Princey."

"You got it... Gerald?"

Anxiety smirked and shook his head, stifling a chuckle at his attempts to guess his name, and being unable to hold back a laugh when he groaned in frustration at getting it wrong.

They both set off flying up into the air, Roman sending the first shot as soon as his brain caught up with him. Tiny, but intensely sharp daggers flew towards Anxiety, catching his arms and legs a few times. However, he didn't seem to notice the small drops of blood trickling down his skin, and instead smirked, swooping down in a blur and before Roman could plot his next move, he felt his arm being twisted behind his back.

Anxiety's hand was warm as it clutched his wrist, and Roman could feel his chest pressing up against his back. Why was he so close?!

Suddenly, a gust of hot air brushed his ear and he gasped, feeling a shiver of both nervousness and pain run down his spine. A chuckle vibrated against his neck and he struggled in Anxiety's hold, attempting to break free, but failing. "What's the matter, Princey? Anxious to get free?"

"Didn't take you for the type to make puns, Anxiety." Roman teased, still struggling as the grip on his wrist and shoulder tightened.

Anxiety moved closer so that his lips were brushing against his ear and the short strands of hair at the side of his head. Why did he have to get so close?! And, dammit, why did he have to have such a low and velvety voice?! "You don't know a lot about me, Princey. But maybe, if you're good, I'll let you in on a little secret of mine."

That peaked Roman's interest. "Oh? Would that secret just so happen to be your name?"

Another breathy laugh blew across the skin of his cheek and neck, and Roman felt himself weaken in his grip, his arm beginning to ache due to the strain being put on it. He could feel his fingers against the back of his neck. "You might have to wait a little longer for that. But I think you'll find this one much more interesting, considering how you stare at me like a lovesick teenager whenever we meet..."

Oh dear. He'd noticed that?

In an attempt to deny his accusations, Roman shrugged loosely and leaned forward, only to be sharply pulled back, back hitting Anxiety's chest yet again. "I don't know-"

"Oh, stop it." Anxiety mumbled, the rolling of his eyes almost audible to Roman's ears. "I may be stupid, but I'm not blind. You stare at me, and I stare back like the moron I am. Now, are you going to keep denying it, or can I get to my point?"

He stared back? Anxiety felt something for him, even if it was merely attraction? Woah. Roman could feel his heart jumping in his chest. What was the secret?! "Uh- Go for it."

Somehow, Roman had missed how Anxiety's grip had become more gentle, more loose. His hand was now pressed to the middle of his back, and he could feel Anxiety's fingers lacing together with his own. "Ah, I didn't say you'd get to know it now, did I? Let me do my thing... create havoc, as you might call it, and maybe I'll tell you what it is. I'm sure you're very curious."

Damn him. Roman couldn't deny the fact that he wanted to know. Despite already having an idea. "You know I can't do that... Mike?"

"Nope." Anxiety brushed the pad of his thumb against Roman's knuckles and smirked. "And what a shame. Guess you'll never know, Princey."

Roman swallowed his nerves and turned his head to the side so that his face was close to Anxiety's. He suppressed a grin when he heard the darkly dressed man's breath hitch. "You never know, I could get you one day and make you confess all of your secrets. Then, I'll know."

Heart skipping and tripping over a beat in his chest, Roman felt Anxiety lean even further forward so that the corner of his mouth was barely brushing his lips. As his voice lowered to something that was barely even a whisper, Anxiety placed his free hand on Roman's hip. "Well... catch me if you can, Roman."

Before anything else could be said, he was gone. And the sound of Anxiety saying his name stuck to his brain like glue. He would catch him one day.

Hopefully.
