3| nice truck girl

Juliette felt alive, she hadn't felt this feeling in so long it made her brain fuzzy. She was ahead of the group having left first, but she wasn't slowing down she knew where to go and she wasn't afraid to get there first.

She knew she should have been, but something in her snapped the second she was on the road, the only thing she had been worried about was getting it wrong, but with how the sky was looking she was almost certain she hadn't.

She felt on top of the world her windows down and her hair flowing in the wind, she began to speed up wanting to get a good look at it before having to hang back her job being done.

She was almost pushing eighty before a giant red truck shot out behind her the sound of Javi swerving causing her to slow down, that threw her out of that euphoric feeling suddenly brought back to that day when Jeb had to swerve from the hay bale.

She knew this was a bad idea, she knew she shouldn't have gotten so into it because now after one small inconvenience she was being brought back to that day, she felt like she couldn't breath even though Javi and Kate were fine.

Tyler speed past her the sound of his stupid country song blaring over her music making her just turn it off hoping to clam herself down.

Javi and Kate rushed past her also chasing the same storm hoping to beat Tyler to it, but all Juliette could do was watch, watch as they got closer and closer until she couldn't see them anymore, watch as the clouds grew darker as the tornado fully formed, and that put her more on edge not having visual on them.

So she pushed her fear aside and put the petal to the metal speeding faster than she every had hoping to reach them before they reach the storm, and she almost succeed if she hadn't watched them swerve away from the storm with Kate now in the driver seat.

Juliette could see the look the blonde had when she pulled up next to them, she saw how torn up and on the verge of a panic attack she was mirroring what she assumed she looked like moments ago.

She watched as Javi hopping out the back of the truck running to the tailgate only to realize the tornado was far from them making it impossible to get a reading.

Kate looked up at Juliette with watery eyes, the brunette didn't miss how the girl flinched as Javi slammed the tailgate shut yelling out in frustration.

Before Juliette could offer any sort of comfort a new set of tires came skidding to a stop followed by loud obnoxious laughter that could only belong to the stupid 'tornado wranglers' crew.

"StormPAR!" The man called out pulling to a stop right next to her truck.

"Javi! What are you doing out here man? Tornado's that way," Tyler called out before cutting his attention to Juliette and Kate who he could see through the girls open windows.

"Hey Kate, Daisy, nice truck girl," he said with a smug smirk that she wanted nothing more than to wipe off and then he did the unimaginable and winked at her before driving off splashing Javi on the way out. "Nice goggles Javi!"

Juliette exited her vehicle with Kate doing the same and they settled in beside Javi as they watched the red truck head straight for the storm.

Juliette obviously knew what they were doing, but she'd never seen it from this perspective only from the drone or inside camera footage. And seeing it in person she could confirm he was just a dumbass no matter how pretty he was.

They continued to watch in silence before shooting sounds filled the air bright balls of red and green lights filled the tornadoes making Juliette's jaw drop.

"Are those fireworks?" Kate asked with wide eyes.

"Yep," Javi responded disappointed that they were getting in the way yet again of their work.

As the tornado passed they watched as the members of the truck exited the vehicle whooping and hollering Boone going as far as doing a backflip. Everyone was excited about the outcome, well except poor Ben who stumbled about before puking.

"He's insane," Kate muttered still watching the scene.

"Yeah," Javi responded slightly pissed off still. Juliette wasn't sure whether it was pointed at the Wranglers or Kate but she definitely didn't want to get involved in it.

"Hey, I'm gonna head back towards town, I'll meet you at the motel?" Juliette asked earning a stiff nod from Javi and a tight smile from Kate.

As she got back into her truck Tyler pulled up once again next to her doing a little swirling motion with his finger that she used to find adorable on her screen but now it just pissed her off.

Juliette went back to that dingy gas station that was the only one within miles of where they were and the motel Javi told her about, that was the only bad thing about using her own vehicle, it was a gas guzzler and she wasn't getting any compensation for it.

Walking into the little minute store that was attached to some diner she noticed a few of the other StormPAR people scattered throughout probably stocking up on snacks like she was.

Juliette headed straight for the soda wall opening up the cooler door and grabbing a Mug root beer -her favorite- and headed over to the candy isle, when she reached there she noticed Scott was also standing looking through the selections.

He was still dressed in his White button up and dark blue jeans his ball cap was still perched on his head perfectly like the weather just a bit ago had no effect on him.

He was holding a Barqs root beer making her scrunch her nose up at the choice of brand, "god, how can you drink that stuff?"

Scott looked over to see Juliette coming to stand next to him, her shorts were still slightly wet from the rain falling through her open window and her hair was a little windswept but she still looked perfect, he thought.

"You're drinking the same thing?" He stated the question with a confused smile on his lips.

"No, I'm drinking Mug the best brand of root beer there is, you're drinking sludge," she stated grabbing a pack of starbursts.

"Mug is too sweet, people who drink that have cavities," he said reaching for the Twix bar.

"Well I don't have cavities," she said rubbing her tongue against her teeth. "I think."

Scott couldn't help but watch the movement she made with her tongue, the innocent act made his ears tinge a little pink as his face began to grow hot.

The sound of the door bell dinging brought him out of that trance as he cleared his throat and looked towards the door far away from her mouth.

They both watched as Tyler and Boone walked through the door still on their high from the successful chase. Juliette let out a scoff as they started bragging to the man at the counter.

Scott raised a brow at the girls reaction finding it amusing that she was so put off by his boyfriend's cockiness, "problem with Owens?"

"Um yeah," she said looking at him like he was crazy for asking. "He totally ruined the data y'all were trying to get earlier."

"Well technically it was also Kate not finding the front of the tornado," Scott said slightly defending the Ownes man.

Juliette huffed knowing he was partially right, "yeah, but even if she did find the path, the data would have been ruined when they shot fireworks into it."

Scott furrowed his eyebrows not knowing they had done that, he knew his boyfriend hated his uncle who invested the whole project, but he promised not to screw with their data because of how important it was to him.

"He what?" Scott asked hoping he heard her wrong.

Juliette shrugged like it was no big deal assuming they did this all the time, "yeah big red and green fireworks."

Juliette watched as his jaw rolled in annoyance his eyes becoming hard as he looked towards the duo, and when they looked in there direction Tyler and Boones eyes widened slightly and smiles dropped catching Scott's expression.

Juliette giggled at their scared look finding it funny how the seemingly fearless 'tornado wranglers' could get scared from some storm nerd in a white button up.

Tyler's eyes cut over to the sound of her laugh to see her looking amused between the three of them, he quickly masked his expression with a confident smirk deciding to deal with the consequences later.

He sauntered right up to Juliette whose smile fell flat an annoyed look crossing her face now that she had his attention.

Tyler looked amused at the duo who both looked pissed off at him, finding them adorable even if they were plotting his murder.

"Hey Daisy, how was your storm chasing?" Tyler asked that stupid smirk still on his face.

"Daisy?" Scott asked temporarily forgetting his anger looking at Juliette.

Juliette rolled her eyes with a huff pushing past the taller duo only to be held back by Tyler, "woah, woah, where you going, I'm just trying to start conversation."

"No you're not, you're trying to be a dick because you know how it went," Juliette spoke frustrated as his warm hands still encased her arm sending goosebumps through it.

He looked down at her -not as much as Scott had to-, and because his hat wasn't on having been left in the truck she got a clear view of his bright green eyes that looked at her softly as his smirk fell into a thoughtful expression.

"I don't mean to disrupt you guys that much, I waited for y'all to get done before I went for it," he confessed making her hard expression falter.

She wasn't expecting him to be so sincere and honest about waiting for them to finish, hell she wasn't even expecting him to think about them at all.

"Yeah, well you still ruined whatever data we could have had," Scott muttered behind them glaring daggers in the shorter man's eyes.

Tyler's smirk came back as he looked at Scott who had that angry 'you're gonna make it up to me' look in his eye that got his heart skipping.

Juliette could feel the suffocating tension between the two, she wasn't sure weather it was hatred or something very different, but she felt like she couldn't breath standing between the two who were having a conversation without words.

She pulled her arm out of Tyler's hold making him break eye contact first to look down at her only for her to not meet his eyes clearing her throat suddenly finding the floor very interesting.

"Well, thanks for being mindful. I'll see y'all later," she rushed out just wanting to get away from the feeling lingering in the air of the candy isle.

She didn't know why she was starting to feel all hot and bothered, but just the thought of two very attractive men staring at each other so intensely with her between them made her stomach swirl. And the thought of them taking their anger out another way then just a staring contest made her want to take a cold shower.

She quickly payed for her snacks and her gas and rushed out the door needing to feel the breeze to calm her down. Reaching her truck she took deep breaths trying to get a grip, they were just two guys that clearly had some feud going on, and she has read way too many romance novels turning her brain to mush.

"God, I'm so fucked," she muttered to herself getting into her truck after pumping gas and failing to get the thoughts out of her head, before taking off not noticing the two pair of eyes watching her leave.
