Five years. It had been five years since Juliette had stepped foot into Oklahoma, she finished her degree in criminology and hightailed it to Washington D.C. finally putting her finding skills to use as an fbi agent.

Instead of putting herself in harms way by finding storms she did it another way but finding bad people and locking them away for good.

She hadn't seen a tornado -other than on tv- in five years and she wanted it to stay that way, sure sometimes she missed the thrill of the chase but when that feeling came she'd bury herself into paperwork using that thrill to chase criminals instead.

Every once in a while she'd turn on her tv and watched some tornado videos, mainly some idiots called 'Storm Wranglers' because they looked like they were having the most fun.

Which was what she was doing right now, she liked seeing people enjoy the things she used to, because at the end of the day those tornadoes didn't rip their world from them like it did hers, so why should they be deprived of the chaotic beauty.

She finally got home from work about an hour ago and the sun was beginning to rise. She'd buried herself too deep with this new case that wasn't even hers, that she accidentally stayed up all night.

Juliette often did that because her body -ever since the incident- wasn't the same, as embarrassing as it is she's terrified of the dark, and as twenty-three year old it seemed childish, but when the sun rose all her worries faded and she continued on her day like normal until she physically couldn't stay awake anymore.

Currently she was wide awake watching the newest 'Storm Wranglers' video, she admittedly watched them not just for their comedy but for the very charming front man that's always sporting a big white cowboy hat.

She had a thing for hats.

He was always so passionate about what he was doing it made her heart melt, especially when he would rattle off facts to inform his viewers of what was happening. It reminded her a lot of Kate who would do the same while she was working on her projects, knowing Juliette had no clue what was going on.

Juliette hadn't really spoken to Kate much since the incident, sure they'd call every once in a while and Juliette went to New York for Christmas one year, but she knew how hard it was for Kate after the incident so she didn't pry or overwhelm Kate to much.

Now Javi and her kept in touch often, growing closer everyday, she would proudly call him her brother and vise versa. When Javi joined the military after graduating he was stationed in Washington for a while making it much easier for them to communicate.

The phone next to her rang loudly making her slightly flinch at the sound having been so into the episode. Looking at the caller ID she was expecting Cathy to call her like she does every week, but was pleasantly surprised when Javi's name popped up.

"Hey Javi, how's the wife and kids?" Juliette asked making the man chuckle at the other end.

"Scott's good, and the PAR systems are still intact," Javi responded making her smile. She's never met Scott but she's heard a lot about him given how close he and Javi worked together being partners and all, if she didn't know Javi better she'd have guessed they were dating.

Juliette knew all about Javi's new team, how he was trying to make a difference with StormPAR using the materials he acquired during active duty. She didn't know all the logistics given she didn't understand most of them, but she was proud of him, she knew how much he wanted to help the world after what happened and she was happy he was able to.

"So Letty, there is a reason I called you," Javi spoke suddenly getting serious making her immediately mute the tv.

"What's up hun?" She asked starting to feel slightly nervous at his tone. Last time he used that tone he told her he was moving back to Oklahoma leaving her alone, again.

"So you know how I've got this great thing going with StormPAR."

"Yeah," she drew out not understanding where he was going.

"Well, we've been having some trouble lately trying to get all the pieces where they need to go, we can't seem to find the right spots, and I just recently visited Kate and she's on board to help but she said you had to tag along."

Juliette felt her mouth go dry, Javi was asking her to go back to doing something she thought she'd never do again. She didn't know what to say she wanted to say 'hell no' but then again she had been craving for a good chase, needing the feeling of adrenaline to pump through her veins that she can barely satisfy with her job.

But she knew how much of a risk it was, after all she hadn't even tried to find a storm since that day and with how that went she doubted her abilities were up to par.

But this was Javi who needed her, and his voice sounded so nervous and almost pleading with her that she couldn't say no.

"Alright," she said hearing a sigh of relief from Javi. "how long is Kate staying?"

"She only gave me a week if you're in," Javi stated. Only a week, that's good, after that she can go back to no more tornadoes, because a week wasn't long and at least she'll have Kate there.

"Ok, then a week it is," Juliette stated. She stayed on the phone with him for a couple more minutes before letting him go.

She couldn't believe she was really going back, a small part of her wanted to call him back and say never mind, but that part was fighting with her excitement to finally feel the winds of a tornado again after so long.

She grabbed her remote and turned the volume back up letting Tyler Owen's voice flow through her apartment once more.

"And if you feel it, chase it," Tyler said his signature line with his charming wide smile that lights up the whole screen.

Juliette let out a sigh flipping to find something else to watch, "oh, you have no idea."

🪽

Scott was annoyed today, all morning he and his crew -minus Javi who was picking up some Kate girl at the airport- were chasing some very small EF1s hoping to catch a little bit of data, but that tasked seemed impossible as Tyler Owen's and his crew just loved to mess with them.

Scott knew it was because they were dating, even if no one else knew, but it still frustrated him and Tyler knew that. Every time he'd pass them, Tyler would have his stupid handsome smirk on his face discreetly blowing him a kiss that he knew Scott would reciprocate when they were in private and much more intense than his little innocent ghost of a movement.

They were a secret, no one could know of them, Tyler's reputation would be ruined on the internet, and Scott's very conservative uncle would definitely pull out of funding his company.

Of course two people knew of the romance that only happened when they were in the same area, Boone who grew up with Tyler and was his right hand 'Storm Wrangler' co-star, and Javi who was the closest thing Scott would ever have to a best friend.

Then there were the few girls they never got the name of that they would pick up at some bar they would visit when they chased in the same area, both still loving the feeling of a woman even if they were completely gone for each other.

So yeah Scott was annoyed especially because two new people who he knew nothing about were coming to help them probably ruining all the hard work they put into this project, because apparently one of them didn't even have a meteorology degree, and he wasn't happy about it.

Juliette chose to drive from Washington DC to Oklahoma feeling much safer doing this if she had her own truck with her. Juliette ended up getting a new truck after the other one was demolished, this one was much newer and completely decked out like the last one only more upgraded.

She wasn't ashamed to admit she took some plays out of Tyler Owen's book finding his anchoring system genius, plus she was never going to meet him so who cares if she copied him.

Driving through Oklahoma brought back many memories for the girl, she couldn't believe she was back here and to chase a tornado of all things. But she was glad she drove because all of these memories seemed to become easier the longer she drove and if she had decided to fly she wouldn't have as much time to get used to them.

Pulling into the dinky gas station Javi told her to meet him at she could see a row of used trucks lined up seemingly also there to chase some tornadoes. The all white pristine trucks were a stark contrast to the other side of the parking lot.

The trucks read StormPAR letting her know she made it to the right place as she pulled up, she steeled herself taking a deep breath and put on her confident persona glad that her windows were tinted so no one could see her.

Scott eyed the big black Ram truck that pulled into the lot, the truck reminded him of Tyler's down to the anchors he used everything looked the same all except the color making him raise a brow.

"Someone a fan," Scott muttered to himself, usually he'd say it to Javi but given the boy wasn't back yet he opted to just speak to himself.

He watched as the door swung open revealing dark red cowboy boots that landed on the ground with a thump the person having to hop out of the taller truck.

Attached to those boots were long smooth legs tanned just right, the door closed and Scott felt his mouth go dry, the woman had long brown hair set in loose curls that flowed through the wind, she was wearing a pair of cut off shorts that stopped right below her ass and a white oversized t-shirt that hung off one shoulder.

Scott had never seen such a beautiful girl even if her face was half covered by a pair of dark sunglasses, she look around at his team almost looking for something eyes lingering on him before turning to lean against the truck.

Juliette knew people were looking at her, it was normal as her truck warranted a lot of attention but as she looked though the StormPAR people she didn't see either of the two people she wanted attention from only some guys in their thirties and one other guy sporting a white button up that was unflattering and a pair of sunglasses that she knew he was watching her threw.

He was handsome, probably one of the most handsome guys she's ever met, he had messy black hair tucked under a ball cap that she knew would look even better without it -even if she had a thing for hats. She didn't keep her eyes on him long though assuming that was Javi's partner and didn't want to seem crazy when she officially met him.

She didn't have to wait long though as another white truck pulled in two familiar faces riding in it. She bounded over to the truck ignoring the other men and slung the door open before Kate could reach for it. Both girls jumped into a hug having missed each other even though neither made an effort to contact.

"Oh Letty, I've missed you," Kate said not caring that the girls hair was in her face.

"We have so much to talk about," Juliette stated pulling away to get a good look at her.

She had changed, which was normal, but the way Kate's eyes didn't hold the normal shine made her slightly sad, her once brown hair was now blonde and cut shorter, but she was still as beautiful as ever.

"Hey, don't leave me out!" Javi called out making her look over to the man who had his hands on his hips sassily.

Juliette laughed before reaching him in two long strides and pulling him into a bone crushing hug, the smell of chocolate hit her nose from his hair products making her smile at the familiar smell.

Pulling away she looked between the two of them before letting out a happy squeal wrapping an arm around each of them and pulling them close again unable to contain her excitement.

Scott watched the interaction with interest, the way she looked so happy was a stark contrast to her slightly hard expression she had getting out the truck making him smirk softly liking the smile on her face.

"Alright, let me introduce you guys to my crew," Javi said letting Juliette link arms with him her doing the same to Kate as they walked over.

"Alright, bring it in team," Javi said once they reached over there clapping as best her could with Juliette wrapped around him. "Alright, you guys have all heard me talk about Kate and Juliette, how no one has better instincts than these guys, they're the smartest people I know, they're the best."

Juliette slightly scoffed when he said she was one of the smartest, because she definitely wasn't that was all Kate.

"And you will never work with a more talented team than this one," Javi continued. "Look we got PhDs from NASA, FEMA, NOAA, NWS."

"Oh, you've got the whole alphabet," Kate remarked making Juliette giggle.

Scott couldn't help but watch her, now having a face to a name, and he definitely wasn't expecting Javi's detective friend to look like that.

"Only the best " Javi bragged. "Except for Scott, my partner here. He went to MIT instead of Muskogee State."

Juliettes eyes followed Javi unclasped his arm and went over to the taller man who made chewing gum the most attractive thing she'd ever seen, and boy was he tall, Juliette was a rough five-nine maybe a little taller but this man towered over her.

"But, uh he makes up for it with his beautiful, amazing personality," Javi joked as Scott pulled a sarcastic smile that Juliette thought was even more attractive than his resting face.

Juliette pulled her sunglasses down her nose to get a more clear look revealing her eyes, she looked him up and down with a smirk clearly liking what she sees, "oh I bet."

Scott watched her actions with a small smile finding her confidence amusing, it reminded him of when he first met Tyler and he knew they'd get along, and her eyes were the brightest blue he'd ever seen putting his to shame.

Kate slightly elbowed the girl who giggled again and Scott seemed to find he loved that sound from her, he didn't even know her yet and he was already wanting to hear that sound being caused by him, god Tyler was gonna teas him relentlessly for this.

"Well, Kate and Letty only gave us a week, but while we have them, ooh, it's gonna be the wildest tornado week you've ever seen, fellas," Javi exclaimed making his crew laugh in excitement.

"Yeah, and everybody with a ten dollar weather app knows it," Scott said with a snarky tone making Juliette smile liking his attitude. "We got to stay ahead of this circus."

Just as soon as he finished his sentence horns started blaring as a Luke Combs song rang out around the gas station making them turn to see a big red truck, a smaller van and a big camper following it.

Juliette let out a small gasp that only Kate heard making her look over confused, but never got an answer as Juliette took her glasses off completely to stare at the truck.

As the truck pulled up Juliette could see Boone hanging out the side, of course she knew all their names and Boone happened to be her favorite.

"Hey, StormPAR, we're live on YouTube say something," he yelled out recording them.

"Blow me, Boone," one of the guys said clearly not happy with them.

"Don't engage, don't engage," Scott said trying to keep his team from starting something even though he could see Tyler's infuriating smirk through the windshield.

"Hey smile man, science is fun right?" Boone called out sending a wink towards Juliette and Kate before the truck moved passed them.

Juliette didn't know what to think, she thought they were just going to be hanging out with the storm nerds for a week, but no of course her favorite YouTubers just had to be there and watch her probably fail.

"Who are they?" Kate asked directed towards Juliette who clearly knew them.

"Chasers out of Arkansas," Javi responded before she could.

"Hillbillies with a YouTube channel," Scott added still slightly pissed off with his boyfriend, but everyone around him just assumed he didn't like them.

Everyone watched as Tyler exited the truck his big white cowboy hat perched on his head already swarmed with a ton of fans, and if Juliette didn't have any self respect she'd be right along with them.

She thought he looked good, like way better than he does on her tv, and that was dangerous, how was she supposed to focus with not one hot guy but two, it wasn't fair.

"Hey T! Tell the folks how your feeling," they could hear Boone yell over the crowd.

"I'm feeling pretty good Boone," they heard Tyler respond in his southern drawl. "And if you feel it!"

"Chase it!" The crowd responded.

"I said if you feel it!"

"Chase It!"

"Chase it!" A man from their team yelled out not caring about the looks he was receiving from his team mates making Juliette chuckle.

Tyler then looked over at the group catching his boyfriend's eye and giving a subtle wink that made Scott's roll his eyes before slightly cocking his head motioning to the side.

Tyler let his eyes gaze over to the other three people, Javi was of course there but the two new people had him raising his brow, especially the Brunette that made instant eye contact her piercing blue eyes staring into his sole even with his sunglasses on.

"That's Tyler Owens," Javi said making Juliette break eye contact, feeling like her cheeks were about to blush giving away her cool girl persona. "He calls himself a Tornado Wrangler."

"What does that even mean?" Kate asked before they watched Dani push out of the RV trying to sell T-shirts Dexter right behind her with mugs.

"This means our world's going to shit," Javi said.

Whilst the team was watching the duo sell stuff no one noticed the slight exchange between Scott and Tyler, even though Tyler hadn't seen the girl up close he knew she must have been something given Scott rarely showed interest in a woman always following his lead.

Tyler tipped his hat at him indicating he got his drift and they'd talk about it later before Javi cut in grabbing the tablet from Scott.

"All right, let's get ahead of this bunch," he said handing the tablet over to Kate. "Which storm should we chase?"

Javi then looked at Juliette and gave her a nod indicating to go ahead and do her thing. She took a deep breath and started walking over to an empty field that had a perfect view of the sky.

Scott's eyes followed her movement not completely sure why she was here and what a detective could do to find a storm, but he trusted Javi so he wasn't going to question it.

Juliette stared at the sky she hadn't tried to do this in a long time and she was almost scared it wouldn't work, or that it did work and she was wrong, again.

But as she continued to look at the sky that familiar tingling sensation took over her hands pointing her towards the west, but she knew she wouldn't dare tell them yet until Kate confirmed it.

"What do you feel?" Kate asked coming up behind her. Juliette sat for a moment trying to determine if her predictions would change but they didn't.

"West," she muttered not having the full confidence to truly say it.

Kate hummed looking towards the west before picking a dandelion crushing it before letting the wisps go, Juliette loved when she did this finding it beautiful.

"You know I used to do that too," a voice called from behind them making Kate turn around. Juliette stayed facing forward not wanting to face him just yet fearing her tongue would flop out of her mouth.

"Compare the wind direction to cloud movement," he continued stoping to stand right beside her. "Get you a feel for the shear. Yep, sometimes the old ways are better than the new."

When both girls said nothing he looked over towards the brunette that had his partner so intrigued and he could see why, she was absolutely gorgeous, the way her hair fell perfectly, and her tan skin that made her blue eyes shine like jewels, he was just their type.

"So, where you coming in from?" He asked his eyes still on the girl.

"New York," Kate answered sizing him up not liking how he was looking at her best friend.

Tyler looked over at the blonde with a raised brow, "well, y'all are a long way from home, city girls."

Juliette smirk at his assumption that she was also coming from New York, but she didn't correct him figuring just from the little show he put on he was very cocky, and it'll be entertaining to watch him find out he's wrong.

"So, y'all like working for StormPAR?" He asked. Tyler hated who funded the company but he knew his boyfriend's uncle was the reason they were there so he stayed bitter but couldn't do anything about it.

"Well, some of them are mighty fine to look at," Juliette stated amused when he cut his attention to her.

"Oh yeah?" He asked with a smile. She thought his smile was even more charming than on her tv making her bite her lip to keep from blurting it out not noticing his eyes following that action.

"Tyler," a voice called out behind them making them turn to see an older balding man ruching up towards them. "Do we know which storm we're going after yet?"

"Well why don't we ask," Tyler trailed off pointing towards the blonde not knowing her name.

"Kate."

"And?" Tyler cut his eyes back over to the brunette who was not looking at any of them anymore instead looking towards the sky.

"Oh, it's ok, Kate knows," Juliette said still not looking at him slightly hoping it would piss him off. She didn't know why she wanted to frustrate him, after all she had been slightly swooning over him on her tv for a couple years, but she couldn't help it.

Kate smiled slightly at her best friend knowing that was her flirting, Juliette always had a way of making people frustrated especially if she thought they were cute and it was always entertaining to watch.

"Well, hi Kate, and Daisy" Tyler said making her raise an eyebrow at the name. "I'm Tyler."

"And I'm Ben," he said holding his hand out towards Kate before reaching behind Tyler who now had his back turned to Juliette. "I'm a reporter doing a piece on American storm chasing, Tyler's letting me ride along."

"Yeah Ben just had to promise to write nothing but good stuff about me," Tyler said patting him on the chest making Juliette roll her eyes.

Juliette began walking away from them, neither men noticing as their backs were turned to her but Kate did and also began following.

"Good luck with that," she muttered going to follow.

"Hang on," Tyler said hoping to stop the pair but only Kate listened making him slightly frustrated.

Juliette continued back to Javi and Scott who were staring at them, she knew Kate could handle herself and if she was right about her best friend she knew what she was going to say.

"We need to load up," Juliette said hurriedly when she got to them.

Scott raised a brow at her sudden rushed tone not understanding why they needed to get ready when Kate wasn't back yet.

"We're going west," she said making Javi grin at the familiar challenge she had in her eye. He began wrangling up everyone telling them to get ready.

"You sure," Scott asked looking at her. She was smart according to Javi but that doesn't mean he had his full faith in her, she was a detective not a storm chaser after all.

"We'll see," she smirked patting him on the shoulder heading to her truck.

"Where are you going?" He called out not understanding why she wasn't getting into one of the StormPAR vehicles.

She didn't answer him just laughing as she quickened her pace to her truck, she was the first to leave the parking lot as Kate arrived back to the team, as she passed Tyler who was still standing there with Ben she honked her horn obnoxiously just like he did earlier and turned her music up.

Tyler watched as the black truck drove past him the windows were down giving him a clear view of the girl, she had a giant smile on her face as she started blasting 'Paint it Black' by The Rolling Stones.

Tyler couldn't help but chuckle at the girl that was heading west, the opposite direction of where Kate told them to go and watched as the rest of StormPAR went after her.

"But I thought Kate said East, they're going the wrong way," Ben said confused.

"No they're not," Tyler smirked running over to his crew.

This was gonna be fun week.
