Chapter 5

LISA POV:

We fairly awkwardly sat there for a while. Well at least the fantastic four did. Chaeyoung was having a blast with her family as they all caught up.  In all of their hearts one could see how much they missed Chaeyoung and how much they loved having her back. Of course, they didn't know the truth. Chaeyoung had told an elaborate lie. One that we had been planning since we got her body. To everyone, it was believed that Chaeyoung was only brought back to life two months ago, which is technically true. But in reality it's just that her whole body was brought back two months ago. In reality, she was given life again a little over a two years ago, then around a year or so ago she secretly made a call to Dahyun.

At that time, Chaeyoung had her rotting corpse as a body to function in, and a working brain. At the time she was missing patches of skin and a lot of hair. Her face was so thin and ghastly it was as if she didn't have any muscle at all, just skin and bones, which to be fair was what she was mostly. Chaeyoung would throw up for hours at a time because her stomach wasn't working and a lot of the time we had to keep her from sleeping because if she slept for too long she'd die again. We chose to keep this monstrous time a secret however. Mina would explode at this information and Chaeyoung's family didn't need to know...

I looked at the girl who I still remember the smell of her corpse. She was smiling as Dahyun messed with her and laughing as Sana explained how Tzuyu was obsessed with dogs. She seemed happy and it was a nice sight to see. Chaeyoung was usually always stressed at everything and could rarely have a lot of fun. It was nice to see her calm down and relax with her family. I couldn't help but feel a little confused and left out.

Chaeyoung and I had been family since we retrieved her body. Jennie, Jisoo, Rosie and I were all her family and I liked that. I guess you could say I was jealous because it felt like losing a sister.

"Lisa, this is going to sound really weird, but can we get some Taco Bell?" Chaeyoung suddenly said, a playful smirk on her face.

"AH HECK YEAH WE CAN." I exclaimed, immediately whipping out my computer.

"Chaeyoung, do you even have the money for Taco Bell--

"Just wait. Tzuyu, just watch the magic." Chaeyoung said.

My fingers worked fast. It was annoyingly simple. All I had to do was hack into the food delivery service order my food and then glitch the system to believe that I had played for everything. It was something us girls did every once in a while. Rosé used to complain how we were scamming Taco Bell and I always remind her that we are doing exactly that. In a place like we were with the history we had sometimes we just needed to do something dumb. This was our something dumb.

"Alright. I ordered five crunchwrap supremes, seven regular tacos, four doritos locos tacos, nachos, and six different freezes." I said happily.

"That's a lot of food.... uh... is it all vampire-friendly and blood-infused..?" Sana asked, clearly confused and  checking her wallet, I guess she think she's going to pay.

"Yes. It is all vampire-friendly, and Sana, no need to pay. Trust me." I said, finalizing the order and the fake-payment.

"Did you pay? With what money? From where?" Dahyun said, rapid-furing questions at me with a suspicious tone.

That's when I realized, and I hope the others did too, Chaeyoung's family didn't trust us, even with the little things. They sort of trusted Mina, even in her insane state, and of course they'd trust Chaeyoung, especially after Chaeyoung proved her knowledge to Tzuyu. But the rest of us... We weren't trusted.

"Don't worry Dahyun. Payment was made and done magically." Chaeyoung said, "It's okay. Put a little trust in my friends would you?"

"I... Look, Chaeyoung. It's easy to trust your or Mina, but understand that everyone else is a stranger to us. Don't expect my trust. I've learned through time that trust often comes with consequences." Dahyun responded.

It was evident then too that... Dahyun, Tzuyu, Momo and Sana, even Chaeyoung and Mina had grown up far faster than they should have. I mean, I had too, but imagine being thrust into a world where hemaphiles had never been heard of before. To be the first vampires and humans to have the serums expire. To have to suffer through that, and then to get manipulated by Zico and Kyung... To lose a sibling.

All of the girls were mentally older than their years and I understood their distrust.

"It's alright to distrust us. We understand." Jennie said, "We we're expecting your trust when we came here. In fact, we wouldn't have come here for that very reason, but Chaeyoung and Mina needed to see you all."

"May we ask what happened? Well, at least more details of what happened." Sana said.

"Well..." I said, looking to both Jennie and Chaeyoung for some sort of confirmation that I could speak up, both of them nodded, "Chaeyoung was brought back to life by us and a terrible doctor as I believe we've already sort of said. After that it was a lot of chaos, but Chaeyoung insisted that we get Mina so we did. Since then, we've been protecting Chaeyoung and Mina, keeping them away from the Doctor."

"Mina has been in an unstable condition because it hasn't been long since she drank Chaeyoung's blood to be taken out of her insane state. She needs more time to stabilize and thus is sensitive to people supposedly acting aggressively to Chaeyoung or herself." Jennie continued.

"Oh also, Chaeyoung isn't in the best state either. Her body is finally in good condition, but we have to be careful or anything could set of the delicate balance we've established. Chaeyoung needs time to stabilize as well." Rosé said, "Both of them have medicines or injections I use to help them in critical situations thought so don't worry too much."

"I apologize for asking, but what if you're lying to us?" Tzuyu asked.

"We're not, but we don't expect you to believe every word we say." Jisoo said, "If we were lying, trust me, Chaeyoung would have strangled us by now. You're her siblings, she would never let us lie to you guys."

"That's true." Chaeyoung said, "They're saying the truth, really they are, don't worry about it Tzuyu."

After that, all of us engaged in very simple chatter talking about this and that, then finally.

The doorbell rang. THE TACOS WERE HERE.

DAHYUN POV:

The new girls were mysterious and Chaeyoung truly trusted them. It was visible. I only really noticed as we were waiting for Taco Bell. Chaeyoung would talk with them happily and smile. They made inside jokes and acted like... sisters. And it hurt. A lot.

Watching them made me wonder and question how long these five years were. How different Chaeyoung was. Chaeyoung had told us she had been alive for two months.

That's it, Two months.

Shouldn't that mean, at least for her, it would feel like it's only been two months since the day she died. Shouldn't she still be closer to me? She's only spent two months with these people... Or maybe... Maybe she hasn't.

"So Chaeyoung, how have two months of life been for you?" I asked, getting frustrated with the fact that Chaeyoung was talking more to Rosé than she was to me.

"Hm? Well... Not that great actually. It's just been a lot of confusion you know? I... hadn't expected everything to be different..." Chaeyoung said, "How's married life?"

I looked at Chaeyoung and she had a cute little baby tiger smile on her face. The one I always recognized as my sister's. I thought about her question. How really was my married life... Nothing too much had changed, but I always felt safer with Momo and I loved Momo. Everything was sweeter with Momo and funnier and she helped me get through Chaeyoung's death and she made me smile every day.

"It's... Incredible." I said, a small smile on my face, "Everything seems better and brighter and more beautiful."

"Oh. That's... I'm happy for you Dahyun." Chaeyoung said, almost sad, but more bittersweet.

We were mainly quiet after that. Five years or not, both of us had an understanding of when we needed to just... be quiet. The silence wasn't uncomfortable or awkward it was just quiet. It was one of those moments where we tried to help each other  with how we loved each other.

"Well, here are tacos peoples." The girl who I believed was named Lisa? said as she walked in holding two very full bags.

"HOLY HELLISH DUCKS IT'S HERE." Chaeyoung shouted snatching some food.

I looked at her and laughed just a little. The amount of craziness seems to have stayed relatively the same despite dying. I more politely, maybe awkardly took some food and began to slowly eat, only to see Momo inhaling food. Then also the girl named Jisoo inhaling food. There are one too many vacuums in this house as of now.

The atomsphere was light, and almost felt too safe. I was used to always being on edge. Nowadays, other than crazy Zico and Kyung and turning Momo into a hemaphile and things like that, I had become accustomed to getting threat calls from anti-vampists or other little things like that. Right now, everything was too nice, other than the fact that Mina was still passed out. I wanted it to stay this way, because everything felt so nice.

Chaeyoung was smiling. A sight I'd thought I would never see again. Momo was feeding me tacos and we were making some hopefully new trustworthy friends in the other girls. Then there was a rumbling outside. I don't what I was expecting, for my life to be normal? Oh no no no. Something always had to happen.

We looked out the back window to see a man dressed in a doctor's coat, wearing a gas mask with a very large injection in his left hand filled with a mysterious red liquid. He started walking up the house and I looked to the other girls whose faces had turned pale.

"How did he..." Jennie said, "We need to move. NOW. All of us."

"What do you mean?" Momo asked.

"That's the doctor. the monster... Park Haejin." Rosé said, shuddering slightly.

"What does he want?" I asked, not questioning much seeing how panicked Chaeyoung looked.

"His original plan was to turn Chaeyoung into a monster that could and would kill you guys on sight. That red injection in his hand is a serum known as Vial X. It has to ability to make any vampire go insane, but the deal is that inside that injection is a chemical that forces a vampire to obey Doctor Park. So, if it's given to Chaeyoung, she would be forced to kill you guys." Jisoo said very quickly, ushering us all out of the front door and into their giant van.

"Why does he want us dead..?" Sana asked, getting into the van last as the doors closed and Rosé sped off driving.

"Because he blames you guys for the suicide of his mother." Jennie said.

"Excuse me?" Tzuyu said.

"Park Kyung and Doctor Park were siblings." Jisoo said, "Once Kyung died, their mother fell into great depression blaming the chaos on herself and her inability to raise Kyung correctly. This ended up making the elder lady end her life. Doctor Park used to be an honored doctor, but after the death of his mother he fell into an obsession of getting revenge and he believed the cruelest way to do it was to revivie Chaeyoung only to have her kill you all."

"Why can't my life just be normal..." Tzuyu sighed.

"I'm so sorry Tzuyu, if we hadn't come to visit you this never would have happened." Chaeyoung said, guilting herself as she used to.

"Chaeyoung, we would be a million times more angry if you hadn't come to visit us. You're our sister and we are not letting you go every again. We've gone through one crazy adventure together once, we can go through another one no problem." I said, looking at her reassuringly.

"Well then. Here we go again..." Chaeyoung said.

"Hey guys, it'll be okay, you guys have four extra people, and trust can be built overtime, just know for now that no one is getting to you guys any time soon." Lisa said, smiling at us.

Those words were more comforting than I ever thought they'd be. So yes, here we go.
