10| i want that spidey sense!

I turned off my phone and got off the car. The keys were on the driver seat. I took them and locked the car. Then I walked back into the parlor. The lady at the counter looked surprised to see me again.

"Can I help you, ma'am?", she asked, surprised.

"Did the guy who came with me earlier, come back by any chance?", I asked, half expecting her to say no.

*face palm*
I have Spidey sense all of a sudden.
Omg.

"Oh, yes. He went to use the restroom", she smiled. I breathed out a sigh of relief.

Sheesh
Thank the Gods
No Spidey sense.

On second thoughts, that Spidey sense would've been awesome.

"But, now that I come to think of it, he's been in there a long time. Do you think he's okay?, she asked, worriedly.

I just nodded, even though she had just voiced my thoughts. I couldn't understand why he was taking so long. I thanked the lady and just walked back to the car. I was getting really annoyed now. I had to get back in time before Zach came and this David Harris was taking too long.

Just then David walked out of the swinging doors and set his hair as he waked down the stairs. I squinted as I took in his perfect body. Those long, muscular legs and his shoulders rolling as he set his hair. Suddenly I noticed that his chest was a bit too close and I realised with a start that he had reached me.

"You almost took 10 minutes", I said, accusingly.

"I definitely had too much ice-cream", he said, embarrassed. I scrunched my eyebrows, trying to understand what that meant. Then I understood.

"So, you're saying that you threw up", I asked, raising my eyebrows. He just shrugged.

Why did you only shrug?
That could mean millions of things.
What do you mean?

"I'm expecting a friend at my house, so I have to get there fast", I told him.

"Again, a friend I don't know of or is it that Alec guy?", he asked, trying for humour.

"Not Alec. A friend from Dance class. Zach Parrish", I told him.

"Since when do you have so many friends? Earlier, I used to have your unwavering attention. Now I have to share", he pouted.

Well, Mr. Harris, if you kept in touch more often, you would know about all my friends.

"And you dance well enough. Why dance class?", he asked.

"I like dancing enough to want to be a professional", I said, matter-of-factly.

"Oh, but other than that?", he asked.

"A doctor, I guess", I said.

At least that's what Maddy wanted to be.
I don't mind that profession either.

"Wow", he looked really, really surprised. I motioned the car.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry I took so long", he said and got into the car. I got in the car and immediately took out my phone.

David, thankfully, drove in silence. I checked if there was any news from Zach. Nope. I, very nervously, checked if there was any news from Alec. Nope. I don't know why my heart felt like it plummeted a thousand feet.

Suddenly I felt the car stop. I looked around and saw my front gate. I quickly opened the car door, then I hesitated.

"Thanks David", I told him.

"Sure, Eva. Anytime", he said.

"Bye", I said biting my lip nervously.

"Bye. By the way, your hair looks really nice", he said before rolling up his window. I blushed and smiled at him. Then he drove off.

How was he able to do this to me?
Just a few minutes ago I was absolutely annoyed and now I'm blushing.

I just shook my head at the red dot in the distance and waked in. Dad was sitting on the couch, reading the newspaper. He looked up at me and looked at his watch.

"5:30? What have you done to my daughter?, he looked at me wide-eyed.

"Zach is coming over, so I had to come back", I laughed.

"You left David for Zach?", he joked.

"Dad! I didn't leave anyone, for anyone", I protested.

"Your choices are real funny. One is 3 years older, the other is amost 3 years younger", he laughed, almost dropping his newspaper.

"I do not like Zach romantically!", I said sternly. He just raised his eyebrows.

"Or David!", I added, embarrassed. He burst out laughing again.

"Whatever you say, Eva", he shrugged. I just shook my head.

"Dad", I muttered, "Please send Zach and whoever is coming with him upstairs, Kay?", I said, a little louder.

"Sure, sure", the way he said it sounded like he was suppressing a laugh. I just shook my head and walked upstairs. I locked the door, ripped off my clothes and quickly changed. Then I realised Mom wasn't there downstairs.

I still had to give her a piece of my mind about giving my number to random-not-so-random strangers. But she was probably at Alec's house. I decided to pass time till Zach and his friend reached. I was not at all in the mood to dance, so I decided to just listen to music.

I scrolled through my playlist, until my finger instinctively landed on Baby Don't Lie by Gwen Stefani. It began playing and I just lay down on my bed, listening to the suddenly slightly relatable lyrics. As the music slowly died, I heard excited, raised voices downstairs. I got off the bed, curious as to why there was a commotion in our usually quite house.

Just as I walked towards the door, I heard loud voices and  footsteps somewhere by the stairs. Don't ask me why, but I armed myself with my hairbrush as the footsteps got louder. I slunk to the door when it suddenly opened.

"What is the purpose of that hairbrush clutched in your hands?", Zach asked with a perplexed look, as he came through the door.

"To brush my hair?", I asked, slightly smiling, glad that it was only Zach who came through the door.

"Whatever. YOUDADKNOWSHIM!", Zach freaked out.

"What? Who?", I asked, absolutely clueless as to what he was talking about. Just as I said that, a familiar dark haired, blue eyed person walked into my room.

"Eva. How the hell do you know Zach?", he asked me.

His face, a mix of emotions I couldn't read.
