Chapter 22
Mark's POV
I felt the ropes tighten around my wrist and for a second the screen glitched to black and I was back in the hospital room. Host just sat fine tuning something one a computer. Wilford was being kicked down repeatedly by Google who at the moment was emoting anger, which shouldn't happen. My wrist was raw and my face was bloody and sore.
"Why did you do this?" I weakly looked at them.
Host chuckled and waved me off as if I was some fly, "Dark told us the truth about you." I furrowed my brows together.
"What truth, I have nothing to hide from the things in my head!" I was holding my teeth tightly together.
"Just watch the screen before you piss me off," I growled feeling my veins start to pop out on my hands.
I clenched my jaw and shot a look at Wilford who was barely healing fast enough to keep him alive.
Wilford leave! You can go back to your own dimension...
Yet he stayed and endured the pain that was forced on him. All he did was look back at me sympathetically before being kicked back down.
"Leave him alone!" I begged inching forward on my knees.
I felt a bat connect with the side of my head and fell forward crying out. My head throbbed and my vision had a red tinge to it around the edges. I crawled up to my knees and I was hoisted to my feet. Host was smiling at me and his eye wrap was removed exposing his eyes, or should I say lack of eyes. Just empty sockets that seemed to stare through me.
"I told you to stay down. He is just as guilty as you are." The tone of his voice made me shiver.
Anti's POV
I was following Dark who was leading me to a fancy looking building. Yet it seemed to be empty of people besides a few employees. His grip wasn't exactly gentle but it didn't hurt me either. He looked back at me warmly and I gave one in return my guard lowering instantly.
"I missed that smile so much." I sighed as we entered the building.
"Bonjour! Your table awaits!" A skinny waiter motioned to a smaller table near the middle.
Dark pulled out a chair and scooted it in when I sat down. I smiled slightly and my eyes started to wander around the room which was vacant beside the waiters who were eyeing us.
"Did you miss me that much? Because I missed you very much." He stated simply, a hint of annoyance laced in his voice.
Trying to lighten the conversation I thought of some of the stupid shit we did when we were kids.
"Hey Dark?" I asked giggling from the memory.
"You remember that time we went flying and found that huge tree that you could see the sky temple from? And you didn't want to leave because you could see the stars so well? Your dad had to come pick us up and he was so pissed!" I wiped a tear from my eye laughing.
"I also remember being the only one that got in trouble." I calmed and looked at him weirdly.
"Are you ok? You don't seem to be having any sort of fun..." He glanced at me his face softening.
"I don't quite feel like myself...I've been having strange dreams...But now you're here...So I'll be fine." He smiled reassuringly.
He rested his hand on top of mine causing a blush to spread across my face. I tried to pull away but he held it there smirking slightly.
"I promise I will always be there for you Anti. Do you trust me with that promise?" He begged me with his eyes.
All I could do was stare down at my lap sadly. I could tell he got the memo when he let go of my hand and stood up.
"You can trust me! I can give you ANYTHING! I Have GIVEN YOU EVERYTHING! Do you not remember all the times I helped you." He raised his hands to his chest.
That's when I saw his eyes, and for the second time in the week, my stomach dropped as the black veins surrounded his eyes like eyeliner.
"I promise I would never leave." His demeanor changed back to the normal suave mood he sported before.
"I am tired of giving people a choice." His sick grin grew even wider as he gripped my chin again.
"But I suppose I can give you one last option. More than anything he could ever give you." What is he talking about?
"Take your pick, any of them. And let's see how far down this rabbit hole really goes." He pulled up a screen that shown brightly against the black background.
Date slave sex Marry.
"Four options. One choice. And if you chose to refuse them, he dies." Once again he snapped his fingers and a large tube sat in front of me which held a duplicate of Dark but with wings.
"What the hell is going on!?" I growled at him.
"I'm the one who asks the questions my little Frith." I froze at the name he spoke. It sounded so vacant and left a sick feeling in my stomach.
"Your answer?" I stared at him blankly.
"How do I know that's him."
"You just have to trust me." He laughed and I stared at the man propelled in liquid.
"Which one do you want?" I mumbled.
"Are you giving me the choice to choose for you?" He cocked an eyebrow an evil smirk on his lips.
"If that's the way you're doing things... All of them." My eyes widened.
"What!? No way!" He shrugged and went to snap his fingers.
I groaned and stopped him, "FINE!" He stopped and smirked.
"I knew you would see it my way." He snapped his fingers and the other Dark fell from the tube.
He struggled to his feet and up to me with a pitiful look on his face.
"No Anti! Please don't do this! I'm a lost cause. I shouldn't be alive!" He grabbed wildly at me.
His face paled, "where's Mark!" He frantically looked around ready to swing when he disappeared.
"He was a problem and I took care of it. Now~" he strutted up to me with a victorious look on his face.
"Will you do me the absolute honor of marrying me?" He didn't even get down on one knee.
"Yes, I will" the words stung as they left my mouth.
He grinned and pulled me closer and lowered his hand to my waist. I involuntarily growled when his hands grazed my scars and he looked at me lazily.
"Let's head out darling." He linked his arm in mine and the reference that burned in me was nearly painful.
