??? POV

Darkness surrounded me. Welcomed me. Made me feel safe for once. But that all was ripped away and I was greeted by blinding white lights and a splitting headache. I hissed and rubbed my eyes, trying desperately to get rid of the spots that were scattered across my vision.

I blinked a few times trying to gain a sense of where I was. In front of me laid a man I had encountered quite a few time in my past. I had been searching for ages to meet him again.

"Dark! Dark wake up!" I grasped desperately at his gown.

I saw his heart monitor start going a little faster. I smiled as widely as I could hoping somehow he could see me.

"Dark I'm here, Anti is here. I've missed you so much, brother!" I wrapped my arms around his neck and sighed.

I pulled away and studied his face a little closer. He looked horrible, hair flattened against his head, sickly pale skin with sunken eyes and sweat covering his forehead. He had oxygen tubes in his nose and it connected to a large machine that groaned every time it had to force air onto the tube.

"What happened Dark?" I asked quietly while stroking his hair.

Mark's POV

I continued to watch Sean as he weaved his way through the corridors of the SCP foundation. I saw the thing up ahead and quickly sent the SCP version of me to help guide him away. I haven't been feeling like myself lately. I've stopped...feeling certain emotions and others have been amplified. It's not right, and I knew that it was only going to get worse the longer I stayed here.

I got so caught up in my thoughts that I never noticed Sean getting killed by SCP 173. I glanced back up and saw that Sean was back at the beginning. He was hyperventilating and calling out to me but as much as I wanted to go faster I slowly pressed the button and leaned in.

"What?" My voice came out colder than I wanted to but even clearing my throat didn't help.

"Mark I can't do that again! That was horrible! PLEASE DON'T-" his voice started aggravating me to the point of me snapping.

"SHUT UP!" I breathed in deeply.

He stayed silent and got up, brushing himself off. My breath hitched as he looked directly into the camera and disappeared down another corridor. I scoffed and glared at where he was standing. Unexplainable hate boiled in my chest making it hard to breathe. I got up myself and rolled my neck earning a pop and did the same to my shoulders. Standing up straight I walked up to Dark.

"Put it on the outside world again." He shrugged and snapped his fingers causing the hospital room to show on screen.

I saw Jack laying slightly on the bed next to me but something felt off about him. His eyes looked dark and sickly and his hair was much darker than before. Dark's mouth dropped and he ran up to the screen.

"ANTI!" I heard his voice come out in real life and who I presumed was Anti shot up.

Only then did I notice that Dark had disappeared leaving me alone in the void.

Dark's POV

Anti is back! Oh my god!

I quickly took control of Mark's body and shot up in bed. Instantly pain and nausea swept over me and I laid down.

"Dark! Oh, thank the gods!" He squealed and I quickly embraced him.

"I've missed you so much! I've done as much searching as I could! I've even tried showing up in Mark's videos to try and show you where I was!" He was smiling.

"I have been too! Dark I am so sorry I didn't find you sooner! Dark! Can I see you?" I smiled and nodded.

I quickly left Mark's body and his body slammed down against the bed. I stretched out my wings and smiled slightly. But Anti had stopped. He was in shock, but why? I looked down at myself and saw how the corrosion had spread across my chest and down to my lower abdomen. I jerked my head up and flew over to the mirror. It was horrifying. Even my usually bright florescent wings had been corroded down to the tips where it hinted at them being pink at one point.

"Anti...." I turned toward him, manifesting my more human-like shape.

"I'm so sorry you had to see this." He was backing away while gripping his head.

"No no no no no! You promised! I thought you of all people could withstand it!" I reached out for him.

"Then you know what it means right?" He looked at me sadly and nodded.

"You're going to forget." He looked down again while covering his eye.

"Why did I have to be the one who lived? I don't want to see you die! I couldn't live without you, or, or!" He covered both eyes and sunk to the floor.

I ran over to him and kneeled next to him.

"Anti, listen. You and I know that this was the only way to stop it from spreading." He looked up at me confused and slightly upset.

"You chose this? You. Willingly. Chose this!? WHY!?" He jumped up and gripped my shirt.

I just stood there knowing his tantrum would soon pass.

"I already said it was the only way didn't I?" I need to calm down.

I knew that it was the corrosion that was making me say and do these things. I was only egging it on by giving in to it.

"Dark, You promised me we would never be separated again once we found each other!" He pounded his fist against my chest while tears threatened to spill.

"If I didn't take on the corrosion, more of us would have been killed." He glared at me.

"Everyone said Xela was the one who was sacrificed. Why wasn't I let in on this? You were my partner for fook sakes!" I took a deep breath.

"Because, Anti, we all knew you would try to stop it from happening. You have to realize I was doing this for you!"

"For me?! If you were doing this for me you wouldn't have done it at all!" His eye started glowing.

"Anti please calm down. If you attack me that's it. I won't be able to stop myself this time." He gritted his sharpened teeth and punched the wall, leaving a huge dent in the plaster.

"God fookin damn it Dark!" He rested his head against the cool wall and tried to cover his face.

"What are we gonna do?" I walked up to him and opened my arms earning a hug.

"Whatever we do, we'll get through it. Even if we have to write down everything we do together so I can remember after.....I'll do it." I stroked his hair.

"So please, just let me know," I looked him in the eyes "Can you see me?"
