Chapter 10

Sean's POV

I lit the wick of the candle with the match knowing I only had so long before the only source of light I had was diminished. I took a shaky breath trying to calm my raging heart beat and continued forward. I glanced at the large blocks making up the walls and shivered seeing that they were coated in a foul smelling liquid. I climbed over an old dusty table, LIKE A BOSS, and ducked under a broken door frame.

I crouched down when I reached a door I looked in through the key hole. It seemed ok so I looked around quickly and entered the room. I ran over to the desk and looked through all of the cupboards and found a bit more fuel and some pills. I went to open the door when I heard footsteps coming closer. I cursed to myself and rushed into the closet, quickly closing the door. What I only could assume was a grunt started pounding on the door, soon breaking it down. I could smell it as it passed by and nearly gagged from the odor.

It stumbled out of the room and I waited a few minutes just to make sure that it was gone. The sound of a door creaking and the familiar sound of an old lantern swaying filled my ears. I ducked back into the closet and saw a man enter breathing heavily, hunched over try to catch his breath. He had a mini mohawk on the front of his head and no facial hair. All he had on was a black tee-shirt and what seemed to be jeans and sneakers along with a pair of glasses.

"Hey!" He whispers yelled while looking around, "you in here!?"

I peaked out a little from the closet to get a better look at him until a banging caused him to jolt up and towards the closet. I backed away and he crashed through the open doors. I had my eyes squinted closed and I felt his weight on me along with his breath. He blew out the lantern and closed the doors quickly. He pressed himself against me a bit more and I looked at his face. He looked back at me and grinned sheepishly. I heard the grunts footsteps pass by me once again and sighed in relief.

"Um, hey. Sorry 'bout that...." He chuckled nervously while lighting the lantern again.

I nodded and climbed out from underneath him, feeling the chill come back when I left the warmth of his body. I waved the lantern around and saw the coast was clear for the most part.

"So, what's yer name? Forgetiplier?" He looked at me weird.

"No, my name is Amnesiplier. Do you realize that all of us are named Mark right? That's just my ' stage name ' if you will. We just don't want to confuse anyone." I said oh and nodded.

"Anyway, the exit should be at the end of the hall. The only problem is that it's a straight shot with no cover. If the grunt is back there you won't be able to hide anywhere." We looked at each other.

"Thanks, Mark." He looked startled I called him by his name.

"No problem Sean." I playfully punched his arm and he groaned in pain.

"Oh god! I think gonna die! Go on without me!" He collapsed to the floor and waved as he disappeared in a flash of white light.

I looked at the darkness in front of me and got ready to sprint. I pulled back and pushed myself forward with all I had earning the feeling of air rushing past me. I was so caught up in thinking that I nearly ran into the grunt. Fear welled in my chest and my eyes widened. But before I could do anything it was laying in front of me with the whole top half of it gone. A green glow filled the corridor and I felt something run down my face. I felt it and saw green slime coating my fingertips.

"The hell is happening to me!?" I noticed how sharp my nails had become along with a burning sensation in my eyes.

I rubbed my hands together and jumped over the bloody mess and into the open door.

"Checkpoint reached. Good job Sean who even is saying that?

I walked through and glanced around. Railing lined a long platform that separated into three other ones.

" oh God... " 'Next level: SCP Containment Breach'
