Walking Through Darkness
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
It has been at least a day since I've seen that lover of mine. Perhaps I should pay him a visit and check on him.
When I realized that it was him that I bumped into, something inside of me jumped...in happiness, but I shoved it back down. It was just another emotion to make me weak. Ganzon had always told me that the only emotions I needed were hate and anger. Happiness and love and all positive emotions would just ruin me.
It was early in the wee hours. It was completely dark outside, but this place was always dark so let's just say that these hours were when the darkness was its darkest.
I stealthily crept through the halls of the castle with a burning white candle with its blue flames in my hand and sword cradled onto my back. I was going to visit Link.
I descended down the stairwell and reached the main floor. Ganzon's castle, in all honesty, still remained somewhat of a mystery to me. There were several parts of the castle that Ganzon would not let me enter, saying that there was nothing there or other things of the sort.
I made my way towards the large double doors of the dungeon. I looked at the door with its large metal snakes and vines entangled and engraved onto the doors. This was one of those areas Ganzon never let me enter. He always told me to stay away.
Flashback
Ganzon and I were taking a tour of the castle when I had first arrived. He showed me my room, the war room, and all the other luxuries of the castle. The place looked like it had been completely remodeled. We passed by the dungeon doors.
"(Y/N)," he said sternly and I averted my gaze to look at the tall man. "You are never to enter this place. Understood?"
I arched a brow and looked at him. He continued to speak. "If you enter through here, there will be some prisoners who will try to take your powers."
I simply nodded. I wasn't going to disobey the man who helped me escape the wretched Hyrule Kingdom.
End of Flashback
But, right now was an exception. Besides, Ganzon was asleep and what kind of person would I be if I didn't pay my prisoners a visit? That would be some bad hospitality, now would it? I grabbed the large knobs of the door to see the snakes eyes flash a shade of red. It looked kind of familiar but I ignored the thought and went on.
The halls of this dungeon were lit by bright orange candles, not blue. How strange. This place was brightly lit compared to the rooms of other places in the castle.
I looked at each of the cells and continued making my way down the halls. I had almost reached a dead end when I had come to a sudden realization...there were no prisoners.
My mind was completely spinning. I was completely confused.
"Would Ganzon lie to me? Why would he say the prisoners would try to take my powers if there aren't even any here? Perhaps if I keep looking I'll find something? Where's Zelda? I thought I told Vaati and Skull Kid to put her here."
For the first time in my life, ever since I came to Achlys Valley, I was scared. Worried, even. What in the world was going on? I mentally crossed my fingers and I made my way towards three prisoner cells. In the middle was Link, completely bandaged up with some water beside him. And to the sides of his own prison cells were...
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. This is not happening right now. This is all a dream. It's just a nightmare. What you see in front of your face is a lie. You're just seeing things, (Y/N). Just smack yourself or something and you'll wake up.
I rubbed my eyes. I looked. I rubbed my eyes again. I looked again. I did this numerous times but the sight remained the same. On one side of Link, there was a family of three. On the other, was a girl who seemed to be at an eternal rest. These people...they were my family. What is going on here?
I dropped the candle onto the floor and started to scream. The snakes eyes flashed in my mind once again. Those red eyes...they were the shade of that ghastly red jewel. The jewel I had found awhile back, those were the color of the eyes. No wonder Ganzon didn't want me coming through here. No wonder his castle looked new and fresh when I first came. He was trying to hide everything so that he could use me. That bastard was the liar and traitor the entire time.
My family was right under my nose the entire time and I had been to naive to realize it. My soul was taken over by darkness. Was Link right? Was this demon sword really my sister? I looked at the body in the cell and back at my family.
I fell to my knees and and slapped my hands onto the hard ground.
"What have I become?"
