Link's P.O.V.
The next morning, Midna and I headed for the Twilight Mirror. We were going to look for Zant. Midna had told me that Zant was allowed to roam freely in the Twilight Realm since he wasn't being controlled by Ganondorf anymore.
"Ready?" she asked as she activated the mirror.
I nodded as I followed her into the mirror. I looked around as we landed. The place had become more lively ever since Midna had come back.
I followed Midna around, observing the blackish-purple skies and black buildings as she asked the fellow Twili on Zant's whereabouts.
"Oh, Lady Midna, I believe I saw Zant at the shrine of the Sols near the palace," a civilian said.
"Thank you," Midna smiled as we continued walking until we reached the shrine. There, I saw the familiar bright eyed, blue skinned Twili.
"Zant," Midna said as he turned around and looked at her with that somewhat creepy face of his, "Midna. How may I be of your assistance today?"
This new Zant kind of scared me really. He shocked me as well. But I guess people do change.
The two continued talking, "Have you ever heard of a place called Achlys Valley?"
Zant immediately gave Midna a serious look, "Why would you like to know?"
"Link and I have been trying to look for someone and there's a chance she might be there."
Zant sat down and held his chin, "And who is this person?"
"Her name is (Y/N) and--" I spoke.
Zant interrupted me, "No need for explanations, Link. I know who you're talking about."
"You do?" I asked with shock.
"Of course," he shrugged, "She's a big hit over there. Her and that demon sword. But enough about that, I'll answer that question about how to get into Achlys Valley. When I was still being controlled by Ganondorf, I was allowed access into that world and I still am, but I choose not to go there. Even if I don't go there, I still know what's going on."
Zant stood up, "To get there, you need to have the darkness consume you. Everyone who resides there has the darkest of souls. After you have the darkness consume you, you'll need a portal of some sort. Someone from Achlys Valley needs to create that portal for you, so your (Y/N) friend was brought there by someone. Do you have any idea who would've wanted to bring her there, Link?"
She was brought there? Who would've wanted to have (Y/N) in a place like that?
"Unfortunately, no. I have no idea, Zant," I told him. "So how do I have this darkness consume me?"
He looked at me concerned, "Do you really want to try? There's a fifty-fifty chance that you may or may not be able to control yourself."
I nodded, "I'm willing to try anything."
"If you say so," Zant said, "You know..." he examined me, "You've actually already got what it takes. You already have a dark side, Link."
"I do?"
"You've met him before. His name is Shadow Link."
My eyes widened, "I have to use him?"
Zant nodded, "I know you can control him for a long time, but the question is, can you control him for long enough?"
Midna looked at me with concern, "Are you sure you want to do this, Link?"
"Shadow Link has great power, Midna," Zant started, "And that's just what he needs. Besides, you can help him train. Here in this realm."
"Are you sure about this?" Midna asked.
"Positive."
"Tell me, Link," Zant started again, "Once you get to Achlys Valley, what do you plan to do there?"
"I want to bring (Y/N) back to Hyrule."
Zant thought for awhile, "Tell me another thing, Link. Where exactly did you hear about Achlys Valley from? There's only so many that know about it, mainly dark villains, so how did you, Hero of Time, hear about it?"
I tried to remember the name of the mysterious girl who came up to me.
"Her name was (S/N), I believe."
If Zant had visible ears, I'm sure they would've perked up, "(S/N) was a very powerful demon until she mysteriously disappeared. No one really knows what happened to her. So how was it that you met her?"
"She's in the demon sword that (Y/N) currently controls. The blade was chipped so she was able to see me."
"That explains so much. I had always wondered how that (Y/N) had become so powerful."
"Yeah," I continued, "Apparently that sword is what puts darkness into (Y/N)'s soul. (S/N) herself had asked me to destroy the sword."
"Destroy the demon sword?" Zant laughed, "Now that's something that may be impossible."
"Why do you say that?" I said while giving an irritated glare.
"A demon sword, Link," Midna finally spoke, "Can only be broken by its owner."
I was confused, "Then why did (S/N) come up to me and ask me to break it?"
Midna and Zant looked dumbstruck with my question but Midna finally spoke, "Maybe it's because she's knows that you'll be able to get (Y/N) to break the sword herself."
I would have to say I was satisfied with that answer. Now I was thinking about making my way to Achlys Valley, "So when do I start?"
