Demon Meets Shadow: Part 1

Link's P.O.V.

I arrived at Achlys Valley with Midna following behind me. I was currently in my shadow form; luckily I was able to control him for the time being.

I looked at my surroundings, at Achlys Valley itself. Dull, gray stormy skies with dull gray buildings. Achlys Valley was pretty much a placed pulled straight from a black and white book. There was the occasional red, but all in all, this place was as lifeless and dull as it could get. I walked through the somewhat empty streets of this place looking for a possible location in which (Y/N) could be.

"This place is full of pure darkness, Link," Midna warned as her eyes scanned the area, "It'd be best to keep your guard up at all times. One mistake, and your shadow will find the chance to take over."

I nodded as I continued to look for a possible location. I passed a corner and accidentally bumped into a hooded figure. The figure stopped in their tracks and looked at me, their face completely still hidden by the black cloak. "Newcomer here, aren't you?"

The voice sounded a bit elderly; it was a male for sure. His tone wasn't as dangerous as I would've expected the tones in this place to be. "Yeah," I said as I scratched the back of my head.

"Well, let me be the first to greet you then, our rulers are currently busy at the moment, so welcome to Achlys Valley." The man was a bit happy which was kind of a shock.

"Thank you." I smiled, "If I may ask, who and what are the rulers up to?"

"Our great leaders are Lord Ganzon, son of Ganondorf, and Lady (Y/N) (L/N). I don't exactly know where she came from, but all I know is this," the cloaked man said as he formed an evil, wider smile on his face, "ever since she came, she's been planning to take over Hyrule. Soon, we the people who live here in Achlys Valley will take over."

I hid my emotions as my brain soaked in everything this man told me. Ganondorf had a son and he was right here in Achlys Valley, helping (Y/N). "Excuse me, kind sir, where can I find the abode of these leaders?" I asked the man.

"Just look for a purely black castle. You can't miss it. It truly is a beautiful sight." The man said while pointing into the distance.

"Thank you, sir." I walked forward with Midna following behind me.

"Who knew that Ganondorf had a son?" Midna said with surprise as she looked for the castle. I shrugged and continued walking when a figure suddenly bumped into me.

"Watch where you're going, swine," the person spat as they landed on the hard floor.

"Very sorry," I said as I gave them a hand which they swatted away and refused. This person seriously had some problems. The person had pulled down their hood and looked at me. My eyes suddenly widened as our gazes met. The girl only formed a sly grin revealing razor sharp fangs.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here. I never thought you'd land yourself in this here valley this early," (Y/N) spoke in a demonic tone as she walked circles around me. "But no matter, while you're here wasting your time, my forces are already taking over Hyrule."

I found myself speechless in her presence. After so long, I have finally found her, (Y/N) (L/N), the only girl that had claimed a spot in my stubborn heart. Even with her demonic appearance, she was still beautiful.

"Oh, Link, you've become a softy, haven't you?"

"(Y/N)..." I spoke quietly as the demon continued to stare at me with her red eyes. They really were mesmerizing. "Why are you doing this?" My voice was soft; I couldn't get angry with her.

She laughed maniacally, "Why? Why? I shouldn't have to explain to the likes of you." She was obviously not happy to see me and it hurt me. I wanted answers.

"Why did you leave Hyrule, (Y/N)?" I continued to ask her questions.

"Didn't I already tell you, ignorant boy?" she clenched her fists reaching for something behind her back, "I shouldn't have to explain to the likes of you. All Hylians are traitors." She spoke the last word with such hatred.

As soon as I was about to speak, (Y/N) sped through the air.

"Midna!" I warned, "Save yourself!" Midna didn't know what the demon (Y/N) was capable of. Midna hesitated but ran to a spot. She made sure that she would still be able to help me if anything bad happened.

(Y/N) was somewhere in this area. I could feel it. She was as swift as the light. I looked around to find her right behind me.

"Shall I kill you now?" she laughed as she landed the handle of something on my back throwing me to the floor. Her strength was much greater than before. "Nah," she taunted as she spun her sword in her hand, "How about making your death slow and painful?"

My eyes shot towards the sword. The demon sword. I needed to get her to break it so that the darkness would leave her soul. I decided to play (Y/N)'s game. "You'll have to catch me first, (Y/N)."

I quickly jerked myself from the floor and took out the Master Sword. Thanks to Shadow Link, I had gained some extra advantages.

"A challenge I see." (Y/N) grinned as she swiped her hands across the blade, "You will be down this time, Link, once and for all." She used her sword and stabbed into the ground creating a large earthquake. Stones and rocks landed everywhere. I tried to dodge all of them, which I quickly regretted doing. (Y/N) had sped through the rubble and kicked me right in the stomach. I stumbled to the floor and spit out some blood.

"How weak," (Y/N) mocked. As she suddenly vanished into the air, gone from my sight once again. How was I supposed to fight against a demon? Midna was right. Maybe I wasn't ready...

"Ignorant boy," (Y/N) said from the air as I felt her blade leave a small slash on my arm. I yelled in pain as the blood started to leave my arm. Normally, a hit like this wouldn't hurt but something about that blade just made it more painful.

I ran from my spot still holding my sword. (Y/N) had suddenly appeared right in front of me as she kicked me to the floor once again.

"What's wrong, Link?" she taunted. "You going to fight or what?" I struggled to get up holding my still bleeding arm. "I'm not going to fight you, (Y/N)," I said sternly. "I only said that you'd have to catch me."

She narrowed her gaze and started laughing. "You were, and still are, pathetic. What?" she held up her free hand and made a motion towards herself. "Are you too afraid that I'll hurt you to the point of death? That's the whole point you know."

"No," I said as the pain got worse, "I'm afraid to hurt the person I love."
