Author's P.O.V:-

Duke Jungkook and Damon stride inside the tent. Jimin notices their presence and gets up from the bed.

Taehyung also gets up and sees a kid beside Jungkook and whisper asks his friend, "Who is the kid, Minnie?"

"Jeon Damon, the Duke's son," Jimin whispers back.

"Omo! So, you are Damon," Taehyung remarks in his loud voice.

Damon blinks his eyes and looks at Jimin.

"Damon, this is my friend, Taehyung," Jimin introduces.

"Oh, hello, Taehyung," Damon greets with a smile cause he is in front of Jimin and he couldn't be rude to his friend but he is not that offended by Taehyung, strangely.

"Aw, you are so cute, Damon," Taehyung kneels and pinches the boy's cheeks.

"I know right, that's the first thing I said when I met him too, his cheeks are really fluffy. I want to pinch them all the time," Jimin also starts pinching Damon's cheeks.

Duke Jungkook looks at his son who is trying to look like he isn't affected by it at all and is plastering a fake smile on his face. He chuckles a little seeing his son in trouble.

Damon glares at his father noticing that he is trying to control his laughter.

"Father's cheeks are fluffy too, why don't you pinch his, Jimin?" Damon smirks.

"No, his cheeks aren't fluffy, it's all stiff cause he always exercises to gain muscles," Jimin comments.

"Yes, but he used to have fluffy cute cheeks when he is young," Taehyung blurts out.

"Huh?" Duke Jungkook gives a questioning look to both of the friends.

Jimin then gets that they forgot and talked about their maknae Jungkook.

"Tae means that if Damon has fluffy cheeks, as his father you must be having those when you are young too," Jimin tries to cover up.

"I bet that's not what I heard just now?" Duke Jungkook raises his left eyebrow in disbelief.

Taehyung understands the assignment, "No, your highness, I meant what Jimin said."

Damon and Duke Jungkook get skeptical about the behavior of both but do not say anything and just observe them.

"Alright, let's go the crown prince is waiting to see you," Duke Jungkook informs.

"By crown prince does he mean, Jin Hyung, Minnie?" Taehyung asks in a hushed tone in his friend's ear.

"Yes, now is your chance. The first impression is the most important, are you ready?" Jimin murmurs back.

"I have to change my clothes, can you wait for more five minutes?" Taehyung looks at the Duke.

"Yes, we can. Tae, I will send Hoseok Hyung inside to help you and we will wait outside, come fast, ok?" Jimin interrupts and grabs Damon's hand to go outside.

>>>He always does what he wants.

Duke Jungkook sighs, "Hurry up, we can't let the crown prince wait for more than this."

And follows Jimin outside the tent. Hoseok goes inside as Jimin asked him to. And in a few minutes, Taehyung comes out in white clothes looking ethereal.

"Let's go," the Duke doesn't even glance at him.

"Stone-faced!" Taehyung comments pouting and looking at his friend,

"Minnie, how do I look? Is it good? Hoseok Hyung said I am looking like an angel but I don't believe it, he says it all the time."

"Hoseok Hyung is right, you are looking like a fallen angel, Tae. Isn't it Damon?" Jimin asks and Damon just nods and doesn't show any interest just like his father.

"Like father like son," Taehyung shakes his head, and Jimin giggles at that.

"Hoseok Hyung, thank you again," Taehyung hugs him.

"Alright, now go. Don't make the Duke and the crown prince angry," Hoseok pushes him.

"Hoseok Hyung...I can call you Hyung just like Tae, right?" Jimin looks nervous.

"Of course, you can," Hoseok shows his sunshine smile.

"Ugh, it's too bright," Jimin and Taehyung close their eyes dramatically.

Hoseok shakes his head, smiling, "Alright, enough you both. Go now."

Damon notices that Jimin and Taehyung have similar habits as if they have been together for a long time. Even their sense of humor is the same and spontaneous. He gets a little doubtful.

"Are you all coming or not?" They hear Duke Jungkook's stern voice and immediately follow him like obedient kids.

Duke takes them to a big tent that has the imperial flag at the top indicating that it's where the crown prince is staying.

The guards move away seeing the Duke and they enter the tent, "Your highness, the crown prince, the god's messenger has come to greet you."

Seokjin who is talking with commander Yoongi turns to see him. Taehyung looks stunned seeing how handsome his Jin Hyung is looking in royal clothes.

He becomes speechless and forgets to greet the crown prince. Jimin nudges his friend and that's when he gets his sense back.

"I-I am Kim T-Taehyung, the god's m-messenger, your h-highness," Taehyung bows and squints his eyes, scolding himself for stuttering badly.

Jin smiles seeing him and looks at Yoongi, "So you have interrogated him, commander?"

"Yes, your highness. He can predict the monster's moves and knows how to kill them effectively which saved the time that helped us to join you in the war," Yoongi compliments.

"To hear such high praises from you commander. Then it must be true. What do you think Duke?" Jin looks at his friend.

"I don't doubt commander Yoongi's words but still we need to be careful cause it's wartime and we can't trust just anyone easily," Duke Jungkook advises.

"As expected of you. So, Taehyung-shi you will be traveling along with me to the northern border and I will know by then whether to trust you or not. In case, if you are found to be on the enemy's side..."

Jin advances towards Taehyung and grabs his chin, "It will be a pity to destroy your pretty face."

Taehyung gets chills listening to the crown prince's low dominant voice.

"I-I am always on y-your side, y-your h-highness," Taehyung answers, nervously.

Jin smiles, "If it's the truth then it would be my pleasure to have you, Taehyung-shi."

Taehyung nods looking down shyly. Jimin smiles seeing his friend all blushy.

Jin backs off and looks at the Duke, "And he is?" he points at Jimin.

"He is Jimin, I recruited him as Damon's caretaker," Duke Jungkook replies, and Jimin bows showing his respect.

"Is that so? Just as your son's caretaker?" Jin smirks.

Duke Jungkook rolls his eyes, "Yes, your highness."

Jin gives a knowing smile and looks at Damon, "My nephew, is your father being an ass to you?"

"No, your highness," Damon politely smiles.

He is not close to anyone and doesn't speak with adults. It's already a miracle that he talks so casually with Jimin but with others there is no hope just like his father he cuts off others' sentences if he doesn't like it.

He doesn't even bother to reply back if the person isn't of higher status than him.

"Look at the poker face just like your father, the difference is you look cute while he looks scary," Jin comments.

Jimin and Taehyung smile at that. Yoongi just shakes his head remembering the childhood days when they are all friends attending the academy and spent most of the time together.

But now due to responsibilities and all the status differences, they can only meet either at parties or in wars.

"You look scary too, your highness," Damon comments.

Jin chuckles, "Is that so? But you aren't scared of me like other kids of your age, why is that?"

"It's because my father is scarier than you so I got used to it," Damon speaks.

Jin laughs out loud, "You will become the scariest than both of us once you grow up, my nephew."

"I agree!" Taehyung chirps.

Jin looks at him and just smiles. Jimin nudges his friend to shut his mouth and Taehyung straightens his lips and looks down.

"Alright, you can all go and I will take some rest before the dinner is prepared," Jin orders.

"Yes, your highness," all of them bow to him and leave immediately.

But before Taehyung could walk out of the tent, "Not you, Taehyung-shi. I need to talk with you if you don't mind."

Taehyung gets nervous and looks at Jimin who looks at Duke Jungkook for help but gets none.

"If he defies his highness's orders he will get mad and your friend will be executed with or without the evidence of him being a spy. So just tell him to stay and entertain the crown prince, if he wants to live," Duke Jungkook whispers in Jimin's ear.

Jimin whispers the same to Taehyung who looks petrified and stays in the tent looking anxious while the others leave.

Yoongi takes his leave and goes to his tent.

"Your highness, the crown prince won't do anything to Tae, right?" Jimin asks the Duke.

"At least he won't eat him 'cause he is not a cannibal. But I can't say for sure if he offends his highness in any way," Duke Jungkook shrugs.

Jimin looks at the tent getting anxious, "We can sit here until he comes out, if you want," Duke suggests seeing how worried Jimin is looking.

"Can we?" Jimin's eyes sparkle and the Duke nods showing them the place to sit.

Jimin and Damon sit on the logs while the Duke stands a little away from them holding his sword and watching out for any monsters that can attack suddenly.

"Jimin, is that weird man your friend?" Damon asks, side-hugging him looking possessive.

Jimin chuckles and ruffles his hair, "Yes, but he isn't weird Damon. My friend is so naive and innocent. He is good at heart and I wish him to be always happy."

"So do you love him?" Damon looks directly into the elder's eyes.

"Yes, of course, I love him," Jimin replies immediately.

Damon frowns, "So are you both in a relationship?"

Duke Jungkook's eyes perk up at the question and he gets curious to hear the answer.

"What? No! I love him as my friend just like I love you," Jimin refuses straight away.

"Oh, that's good then," Damon smiles a little which is almost unnoticed.

>>>I won't have to kill him as he is just your friend.

And Duke understood what his son is thinking, well, like minds think alike.

"Good? What if I had a relationship with him, what will you do?" Jimin gets inquisitive.

"I won't like it," Damon's voice is stern.

"Why? It's not him but someday I will get into a relationship with someone, what will you do then?" Jimin queries.

"No, I don't want it. If you get into a relationship and then marry that person then you will have to leave me, right?" Damon looks upset.

"Yeah...maybe?" Jimin looks lost cause he never planned to get into a relationship with someone in the first place.

If he is in Seoul and if Jungkook had proposed to him maybe he might have accepted it but now he is the novel.

All he wants to do is save Damon and Duke Jungkook from dying and change the novel. He has no other thoughts.

Even if he eventually gets to love someone, it will get complicated cause he is not sure when he will go back to Seoul.

What if he starts loving someone and suddenly when he opens his eyes he is in Seoul and left his lover in the novel? Won't that be plain tragic?

He would be heartbroken if that happens. Even thinking about it is making his heart sting in pain.

Jimin shakes his head, "Forget it. I don't want to be in any relationship. I just want to stay with you, Damon. I can't imagine going far away from you and..."

He looks at Duke Jungkook in the middle of his sentence, "So, I have decided no loving anyone."

Damon notices that look Jimin gave to his father and sparks lit up in his mind but he doesn't say anything and looks at his father who is eavesdropping on their conversation.

"Then wait for me for twelve years. I will come of age and will marry you," Damon looks proud.

Duke Jungkook rolls his eyes,

>>>Do you think you are better than me, son?

Jimin giggles hearing it, "I will become old by then and you would be chased around by beautiful ladies."

"I don't need beautiful ladies, I just want you to be with me," Damon sulks.

"Damon, do you really want me by your side that much?" Jimin asks getting emotional cause they just met but got attached to each other like they have been living together, since forever.

"Yes, I love you, Jimin," Damon confesses.

Duke Jungkook is shocked to listen to his son speaking like a child. He never was a spoilt child and acted maturely in front of him and everyone.

But with Jimin, he becomes childish and spoilt and acts of his age.

"Aww, I love you too Damon," Jimin gives the boy a forehead kiss and hugs him.

"How about you just marry my father and be my Dada, in that way you don't have to wait for me to become old. And you can stay with me forever," Damon breaks the hug and asks suddenly.

Jimin and Duke Jungkook look at Damon, speechless.
