Omigod omigod, you guys!

"OhmygodIcan'tbeliveitMariathey'regettingmqrtiedthisisgreatthisisamazinI'msogladJohngotthecouragetoproposebecausethey'resocutetogetherandIcannotdeal!" I repeated for the umpteenth time, clutching an exasperated Maria's arm tightly.
"Pegs, babe, I get it. Now please calm down, I'm trying to fix your dress."
"Right, sorry." I mumbled, standing still so my girlfriend could fix the pretty yellow dress I was wearing.
"I love this dress." I pointed out, mainly to the mirror, but also a bit in the direction of Mari. "I'm glad it's not a white wedding and I can wear whatever color I want."
"Yup, cause white washes out my hair and skin." Maria replied, dusting off her already immaculate red dress.
"Martha says we look alike. Would I look good in red?"
"Martha says a lot of things, and you'd look fabulous in anything."
"Even a giant piñata?"
"Not sure, but I think you'd manage." She kissed me on the nose before facing the mirror and fiddling with her hair.
"We're going to a wedding! We're going to a wedding!" I cheered, jumping up and down. "And it's our best friend's wedding at that!"
"Remember when you freaked out because John was gonna meet Alex and you thought that would go badly?" Maria chuckled.
"It appears to have gone very well." I replied. "And I am to thank for that."
"Not really."
"Shut up, you're ruining my moment!" I hissed teasingly.
"Stop hissing, you'll summon Ducky."
I laughed and sat down. Maria and I had been staying with my sister and her wife, so we were aquatinted with Ducky-the-demon-cat.
"I can't wait!" I squealed again, as Mari held me still and did her best to make my hair look tame.

I'm nervous. Is that normal? Theo says it's normal. She was nervous too. There's nothing to worry about.
Yet I still worry.
A lot.
It's what I'm best at.
And here I go, down the aisle, keeping my head high. I have no family who isn't James, so I walk down the aisle alone. John's standing there.
What if I trip?
I won't trip.
But I might.
I lock my eyes on my fiancé and block out all thoughts of tripping, which never ended up happening, I got to the platform thing where John was waiting just fine. He smiled at me and I felt my cheeks go hot.
Wow;
I'm getting married.
The ceremony man started talking, but I was not listening.
After a lot of mumbo jumbo that was probably unnecessary he said what I'd been waiting to hear.
"I now pronounce you man and man, you may kiss the groom."
Technically, we're both grooms, so I'm not sure who he'd been talking to. Anyways, I was sick of waiting, despite the fact that it'd been less then a split second. I pulled John's face to mine and kissed him passionately, closing my eyes and melting into the moment. I heard Peggy screech, but that was something I'd been expecting, so it took no one except Martha and Henry (the only members of John's family who'd been able to show up) by surprise.
(Time skip, because weddings are awkward or at least the ones I've been too have been)

"Omigod omigod you guys. Looks like Alex just won the prize." Peggy chanted and Alex laughed. I'm placing my bets on this being from a musical.
"Omigod omigod you guys, see dreams really do come true, you never have to compromise!" My husband laughed and sang right back at the short sunflower.
I can call him my husband. That's ok now. This is amazing.
"Can you clue us in on what's going on?" James chuckled, clearly as confused as me.
"Omigod omigod you guys!" Alex and Peggy laughed, smiling mischievously.
"Jesus Christ, both of y'all had too much to drink." Martha raised an eyebrow.
"I know right?" I replied to my sister, grinning like a maniac, which I'd been doing for a while now.
"I think they're just off in their own world." Angie offered.
"No, Alex's always off in his own world. I think he may be a little drunk right now." I laughed.
"Guess we'll see later when he has a hangover." Theo shrugged.
"Where are Laf and Herc?" Maria asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh they got really drunk and they're making out in a corner." James shrugged.
"Ok where did they even get enough alcohol?" Eliza chuckled.
"Eliza... this is John and Alex's wedding... where do you think they got the alcohol, the fiery pits of hell?" Angie pointed out and I laughed.
"Your friends are fun." Martha commented, smiling.
"I know aren't we great?" Theo flipped her hair jokingly.
"Wait... what time is it?" Angie asked suddenly.
"It's 10, why?" Eliza checked her watch.
"Babysitter." Theo explained and got her coat on, smiling and waving.
(Shmol time skip)
The party went well, but at some point everyone left, which I'm fine with. I sat with Alex, looking at the moon.
I'm no author, or poet, so I won't attempt to describe how I felt, or how the moon looked tonight.
It was magical, that's all you need to know. It's also the most I can describe.
"Alex."
"Hmm?"
"I love you."
"I'd be upset if you didn't." He smiled. "Love you too."
I wrapped my arms around his small
frame and felt him lean into my embrace. I kissed the top of his head and he giggled and fiddled with my wedding ring.
I'd never liked being at weddings, but this was certainly the best thing I'd ever done with my life.
Alex warped an arm around my waist and I felt him sink against my chest. His breaths slowed down and his muscles relaxed as he fell asleep.
I picked my husband up bridal style (ironic isn't it?) and walked into our house, thankful he'd decided to fall asleep in our small garden and not in the middle of nowhere from where I'd have to wake him up and get him to go home. I set Alex on the couch and he rolled over, grumbling something or another.
You know, weddings are supposed to be romantic, like, with flowers and kisses and things like that, but it feels far more natural to coax a semi-drunk Alex to sleep.
"I love you." He mumbled as I got up to go to bed.
