(Peggy P.O.V)

"Hey y'all, I need to grab my girlfriend for a sec." I smiled at the group gathered around the table, putting my phone in my pocket.

Everyone looked at us skeptically, and Theo winked. Honestly, that girl was a more passive version of me. I winked back at her and tugged Maria our of the room. I brought her over to the living room and broke out in giddy laughter.

"Sweet Jesus, Peggy, are you ok?" Mari asked, wrapping an arm around me.

"Guess who're dating!?" I cheered, but not loud enough to be overheard from the kitchen.

"Wh—" I saw her eyes widen. "Wait... Alex and John?" Who else could it have been?

"Yessssssss!!" I hugged her.

"Finally!" She laughed. "I'm so happy for them!"

"Honestly, it took them a while to figure it out." I sighed overdramtigcally. "Those two were head over heels for each other."

"How did you even notice that?" Maria raised an eyebrow.

"I watched John carefully. I know him, he was in love. And then I just had to ask Alex the right questions to get the answers I needed" I shrugged.

"And how do you know they're dating?" Mari asked again.

"John sent me a text." I showed her my phone.

"Can I answer that?" Maria snatched my phone without waiting for an answer.

I leaned over her shoulder as she typed.

Turtle Boi: Omg Pegs I just kissed Alex and we're dating now and he's the cutest human I've ever seen

Peggay: Good for you John. This is Maria, and I'm telling you that Peggy is the cutest human being on earth, no doubt about it.

Turtle Boi: Ah, hi Maria. Alex here. I would like to object to that and state that John Laurens is the cutest human on the face of this planet.

Peggay: Oh but ur wrong; Peggy is far superior to John

Turtle Boi: That's because your lesbian ass can't comprehend true beauty.

Peggay: Oh and you can?

Turtle Boi: Yes, I can evenly compare Peggy and John, and I say John is better.

Peggay: Well that's because he's your boyfriend.

Turtle Boi: If that's what we're basing things off of, Peggy's your girlfriend.

Peggay: Ok but Pegs is far superior.

TurtleBoi: You're going back to your older claim. Got any evidence to back that up? Or are you running out of ideas.

Peggay: No

Turtle Boi: Seriously, don't come unprepared to an argument with a law student.

Peggay: Fine, but Peggy is still better.

Turtle Boi: mhm sure.

I laughed at my girlfriend as she pouted and made a face that clearly stated 'he has a point'.

"What? Are you giving up?" Maria looked at, shock painted on her features.

"Maria, you're going to school for an art master, he's finishing up his law masters." I informed her. "He's going to win a debate."

"Fine but I—"

"Don't wanna year it, give me the phone." She huffed and put the device in my hand.

Peggay: Hey this is actually Peggy can we you hand the phone to John?

Turtle Boi: Yep the phone has been given back to its rightful owner

Turtle Boi: Hey Pegs

Peggay: Hey John

Turtle Boi: I told him to drop it but when he gets into an argument there's no stopping him

Peggay: Well how did u get the phone back?

Turtle Boi: Mary asked who Miranda was

Peggay: Oh poor Mary she doesn't know what she's getting into

Turtle Boi: She'll be fine

Turtle Boi: Martha is trying to get into a college with history as 1 of courses

Peggay: U won't see her very often if she does

Turtle Boi: I don't see her very often anyways and she'll be happy so that's good

Peggay: Yeah I guess...

Peggay: Anyways

Peggay: U're dating Alex now

Turtle Boi: Yes I am!!!

Peggay: Good for u

Turtle Boi: I'm no longer the only single friend!

Peggay: But he lives up in NYC u sure that's gonna work?

Turtle Boi: Don't remind me

Turtle Boi: I'm not worried that he's gonna cheat if that's what u mean

Turtle Boi: I'll just be lonely

Peggay: aww u're so cute!

Turtle Boi: shut up Peggy.

"That was cute though." I told Mari, who nodded

Peggay: can I tell the others? Do u think Alex is ok now? Are u coming back soon?

Turtle Boi: 1, sure have a blast

Turtle Boi: 2, he seems better but definitely not fully ok

Turtle Boi: 3, after we eat dinner here, Martha made it it would be rude to not eat it

Peggay: Mk sure

Peggay: Use protection

Turtle Boi: HOLY SHIT PEGGY NO!!!!

Peggay: It was just a thought chill out

"Let's go tell them." Maria said after a pause.

"Yesss!" I squealed, getting up. "I'm telling them, you can be here to back me up."

"Fine." She pouted and I pulled her up beside me.

I ran into the kitchen.

"Ok, Alex and John are coming back after dinner, Martha made food and John is a very polite bean." I informed the kitchen brimming with people, who appeared to have been playing uno.

Jame looked at me hopefully.

"According to John, he doesn't seem completely over whatever happened." His shoulders slumped slightly. "But he's your brother, so I'd expect you to know better."

He perked up a bit. James reminded me a bit of a puppy. Maria nudged me.

"Ok, so y'all know how Christmas is coming to an end?" I started.

"Yeah." Eliza nodded. "But hey, Christmas itself is only three days away!"

"Ok, that's great I still need to get gifts for some of you." I hurried on. "So guess what?"

"Peggy, just tell us." Herc stared at me.

"Alex and John confessed their undying love to each other and they're dating now!"

"Took them a while." Angie laughed.

"Yeah, seriously did." Theo agreed, chuckling too.

"Now the only other couple we need is Theo and Angie." I muttered to Maria, who laughed.

I heard a knock at the door and went to get discretely. I failed, everyone noticed and watched me open the door hesitantly.

I looked out to see John standing with Alex, the shorter boy looked pretty rattled, but otherwise seemed ok. I'd be rattled too if I though Angie or Liza had died only to find out they didn't and they were just chilling across the states. I led them inside and winked at John. This time I was discrete, but John certainly noticed and flushed red. Alex walked into the kitchen and turned to James, taking a breath.

"I'm sorry." Both brothers said at the same time.
