Baby StormChapter™️
(James P.O.V)
Theodosia called me, crying. I could hear her frightened sobs through the phone, which she was clearly trying to muffle.
"Theo? All good?" I asked.
I... I...
"Shh, it's ok, what's up?"
Oh g-god I'm so dumb!
"You are not. What makes you think that?"
James, I-I-I'm p-pregnant!
"Ok..." Then it hit me why that was problematic. "With who?"
......he.... uhhhh
"Theo it's ok, just calm down and tell me."
I d-didn't want to. H-he, he...
"I don't doubt your loyalty to Angelica, but tell me who I need to murder."
N-no I just... how to tell her?
"No clue, ask my brother."
Wh-what? Why?
"He knows how to share news, bad and good."
How?
"Just trust me."
O-ok... I guess.
"So, get his opinion, and then call me."
Uhh... ok, bye.
"See ya Theo." I hung up.
I put my phone down and my roommate looked at me. I stared back at him, holding his gaze. Honestly, I'd messed up, I'd caught feelings for my straight roommate. Yeah, I'd really gone and screwed up. (Wait for it...) Honestly, Justin was really amazing and I hated myself for thinking that. (Yup, I did that and I'll regret it later)
"Who was that?" He asked, leaning against the counter.
"Oh, that's Theo, she's my friend and self-appointed therapist."
"Hmm, ok." He nodded. "You have a brother?"
"I- yeah I do. I thought he was dead but no, he was in New York." I laughed awkwardly.
"Cool, who is he?"
"Alex, Alexander."
He paused. "Wait, you're James Hamilton?"
I knew what was coming. "Yeah, I'm technically James Hamilton Jr."
"So your brother is... Alexander Hamilton?"
"Yup, that's him."
"Huh, who would have thought." He mumbled.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I thought your family was dead."
"So did I. But apparently not." I shrugged.
"Good for you! Don't you also have a cousin?"
"Yeah I'm not sure about that." I frowned.
"What? How?"
"Alex knows something he's not telling me."
"Oh..." He trailed off. "I need to I go I have a date with Naomi."
"Ah ok, h-have fun..." I watched him leave and walked into the living room, sinking into the couch.
I had homework, I needed to do it, but... I didn't really want to. I wanted to talk to one of my new friends, but who? I chuckled softly, it was the first time I'd ever have to think which friend I should talk to. It was a new feeling. I decided to talk to Alex, because I want to know how he took Theo's news, what he'd do in my position, and I needed to make sure he was actually alive and not a figment of my ludicrous imagination. I tucked a red curl behind my ear and picked up my phone. I clicked on Alex's contact and called him, the phone buzzing before he picked up.
Hey James!
"Alex! Hi!"
Why're you calling?
"That is no way to greet your brother!"
Yeah yeah, nor is coming back from the dead, but I let that go didn't I?
"I thought you were dead too."
I heard a silence on the other side.
"Anyways I have a problem."
Oooo spill the tea!
Shut up! Another voice yelled, more faint.
Just turn up the volume on your computer.
I have.
"Who's that?" I asked curiously.
That, is Aaron Burr my annoying roommate.
I have so many reasons to say the same thing about you!
Oh yeah? I'm the best in debate class, you sure you want to challenge me?
Honestly Alex, you're pride's gonna be the death of us all.
"I agree with 'Aaron Burr' on that." I offered.
You're supposed to side with your kin.
"Ok, but I can imagine how having you as a roommate would be annoying. Especially 'cause I lived with you for 17 years."
Oh shut up. What's your problem?
"Oh yeah, so umm... I really like my roommate, but he's straight and he's dating a girl."
Well, Christ James! How do you expect me to fix that?
"I don't, I just wanted to tell you."
Well, I'm glad you got that off your chest, now we must discuss the matter at hand. He lowered his voice. Did Theo tell you too?
"Yeah, I told her to inform you."
Well I'm glad you did, I'd hate to not be informed. Now what?
"She should tell Angie."
She should, but we both know she wont. She'll wait for her to notice, which'll take a decent amount of months.
"Well it's not right if we tell Angie."
Do you know who did it?
"She didn't tell me."
Aww, I was hoping I could murder him.
"So did I."
Oh well, I have school to work on, how about I call you later?
"You have school to catch up on?"
Not catch up on. I'm a weeks ahead.
"Well stop. Watch a movie or something."
It's movie time Burr! I heard him yell.
But--
No, even James said it was a good idea. So you can choose; rent, Heathers or Legally Blonde.
Seriously? .....Legally Blonde I guess.
Good choice.
"I'll leave you to it." I laughed and said bye, hanging up.
I put my phone aside and pulled out my laptop, deciding that doing my homework was probably a wise choice. I was majoring in meteorology, and for this week we just had to track and study a few storm patterns in different places. Each student had been assigned a different state or country, depending on the size of whatever it was. For example, someone couldn't get the entire U.S. while someone else got Luxembourg.
I'd gotten New York which I was glad for, I could tell Alex about storms without it seeming like I was insane. I checked the storm tracker program thing, and there was thunderstorm heading over to Manhattan, but I knew I couldn't just watch one tiny part of the state, so I moved over to Albany and watched it rain for a bit, before glancing back to where Alex was studying. The storm heading over was getting pretty big, but it was just a serious thunderstorm, nothing more. I took a few notes and shoved my stuff aside, wanting to sleep. I couldn't sleep though, I had more homework to do and it was 9. I got myself some tea and worked on an essay for a bit, before getting bored. I pulled a blanket over my shoulders and decided I should watch some of Alex's favorite movies, just so he'd make ore sense when he rambled.
I started with Legally Blonde, it was really good, and I got why he liked it. Alex might also like it because he was a law student. I then moved on to Rent, which I really liked and got all emotional over. I sipped my tea as I rewatched 'cover you' for the seventh time.
(Alex P.O.V)
I heard rain start to beat on the windowsills. Oh. Problematic. I checked the weather on my phone, it was supposed to rain all night. I checked the weather up in Seattle and was relieved to learn it was just cloudy; I'm not sure why, but I needed to make sure that there was no storms up by James. The rain got a little harder and I tried my best to ignore the little drops that kept ramming themselves against my windows. Then the wind started whistling against the shutters and I cursed, fear rising. Burr had gone to his bed once the movie was over before I could start another one. What's he got against my movie choices? Musicals are great! Sadly, few of them've been made into movies. I wanted to go to a live musical, that would be great.
A crack of thunder broke me from my thoughts.
"Screw you too!" I yelled at the clouds.
There was lightning and the wind started to blow harder, and I guessed the storm hadn't liked me yelling at it. More thunder. Uh oh. I pulled my blanket closer around my shoulders, trying to ignore the wind and rain that were in a frenzy outside. That plan didn't work, the only thing I could focus on was the storm. I got up, clutching my blanket around me and a half-filled mug of coffee (because I do not consume any other liquids) and shuffling over to the bathroom where I kept my medicine, you know, just in case. And then the thunder got ten times louder and I noticed the flashes and loud bursts were almost synced. The thunder was now so loud i could practically feel it shake the ground, and the lightning was almost blinding. The worst part was the wind, it was running around like a herd of wild buffalo or something. I noticed my vision get darker and my hands became clammy. Interesting. I passed out on the floor.

a / n: Little baby storm chapter. Here you go.
I was listening to musicals all the time while I wrote this so just go with it, ok? You don't have a choice. Rent is amazing if you disagree, well...
Then stand whoever you are. Weehawken, dawn. Guns drawn.
Ok, see you next time! I'm going to go (not) sleep.
