Chapter 2

(Kris's POV)

The navy come pouring over onto our ship, from both sides. These were the biggest navy ships I had ever seen in my life, and we had one on either side of us. Shit. We all rushed forward, weapons ready, to fight them.

I pulled my sword, jumping right into the fray, with Russ right beside me, his swords drawn. All I can hear is the clanging of swords, the occasional shot ringing out, and cussing and yelling. My sword meets a navy officers, and I disarm them as quickly as I can, before taking on another one. I take out as many as I can with Russ working next to me, but it seems never ending.

I take down three more, glancing around occasionally. It seems like no matter how many we take down, more seem to replace them. We're severely outnumbered, and it's not looking good.

"This shit is never ending.." I exclaim, knocking down another navy officer as I glance at Russell.

"Shit. Who knows how many of these bastards are on each of those huge ass ships.." He yells, as he continues fighting.

I quickly draw my pistol, and shoot the officer behind Russell, who was coming up from behind. Russ shoots me a grateful smile, and I smile back, as we continue fighting.

I glance around, looking for the rest of the crew among the horde of navy officers. I spot Captain fighting with not with one, but two swords, much to my surprise. Cecilia fought fiercely beside her husband, the crack of her whip loud as she takes down multiple officers.

Eduardo was shooting officers down from his spot on the top deck, with Penelope fighting beside him, her katana moving with deadly precision, as she continues to take down officers swiftly and efficiently.

Chris was fighting with a sword, a rare sight, for the doctor usually fought with his hands. Luna spun around him, the eerily graceful dance we had become accustomed to, as she wielded her fighting fans, taking down officers as she spun around them.

Thomas was fighting with a real sword, instead of the wooden one he usually used. Allison stood behind him, working in sync with Thomas, as she shot arrows at the oncoming navy, while Thomas took out the ones right in front of them. Allison occasionally shot water at a few officers, knocking them overboard and into the ocean.

Nathan was trying to shoot the other ships, manning the cannons, while Arabella guarded him, taking on any that got too close, so that Nate could focus on the cannons. When the group surrounding her got too large, she occasionally threw a few cards, the explosion pushing the officers back.

There were still too many though, no matter how hard we are fighting. My blood runs cold, as my sword clangs against another officers sword, and I recognize the woman on the other end of that sword.

Slightly tanned, with short blonde hair, and cold, cruel blue eyes, and the same condescending smirk that I remembered. "Still playing pirate huh Kris? I'm sure your dad would be so proud." She sneers, as our swords clash against each other.

"Don't you dare talk about my father you bitch." I snarl, glaring at the woman in front of me, as I lunge forward with my sword, only for her to block it with her own.

"I'm sure he's thrilled, his only daughter throwing away the life she had, to become pirate scum." She scoffs, as she continues.

"The life you both tried to force on me you mean? Yea no thanks." I reply curtly, blocking her sword as she goes for my shoulder.

"You ungrateful little shit. You had everything, a promising career in the navy, and a house over your head." She continues on, pissing me off even further.

"You were in the navy?" I hear Russ pipe up next to me, the surprise evident in his voice.

"Yea. Until I found out what fucking bastards they really are." I answer Russ, glancing over at him, before returning my attention to the woman in front of me. Fucking bitch, telling people my shit before I even had a chance to.

"What's the matter, didn't tell your little friends about your past yet?" She grins, smugly.

"Well, shes a pirate now. She's one of us. When she feels ready to share she will, and no one here will judge her for it. I don't know who the hell you are, but I suggest you back off before I make you." Russell threatens, fire in his normally playful green eyes, as he takes down another officer, before glaring at her.

I smile at Russ, touched by his words. "I let you off easy last time Claire, don't push it. It'd be a shame for me to cut that smirk off your face, but I will." I threaten, looking at her. In all honesty, I didn't have it in me to actually kill Claire, even after all the shit she's done to me, all the hell she put me through, and all the times she fooled my father. I didn't have it in me to actually kill her, but she doesn't know that.

She merely grins at me, shaking her head, like she's got a trick up her sleeve. "You aren't doing shit you brat, unless you want your crew to die." She adds, pointing behind me.

I keep my sword pointed on her, not wanting to look, hesitant to take my eyes off of her. Russell points both his swords at her, giving me an opening to look.

I gasp in surprise, at the sight of most of the crew already being cuffed by the navy. Thomas and Allison were on their knees, hands behind their back, with swords held across their throats. Officers were in the process of  tying up Chris and Luna.

Eduardo and Penelope were rushing over, trying to help them, and Captain and Cecilia were heading our way as well, fire in all their eyes, the anger clear on their faces. Arabella had taken a shot to the leg, and though Nathan was trying to keep them away from her, there were just too many.

They dragged Arabella over, tying her up and holding a sword to her throat as well. She was clearly pissed at being caught, and I could see her trying to reach anything she could possibly use as a weapon.

"Watch those two. Don't even think about it, or one of your friends dies." Claire calls out, gesturing to Arabella and Allison. Both girls stop moving, not daring  to use their gifts, as one of the officers holds Thomas in front of Allison, dragging the sword lightly across Thomas's throat, drawing blood, that slowly trickles down his neck.

Allison looks horrified, frozen in place, as she sees the blood on Thomas's neck. "I'm okay Alli. Don't worry okay?" Thomas says soothingly, trying to calm the lavender haired girl down. She nods slowly, letting him know she heard him, but her silvery grey eyes fill with water anyway.

They drag Nathan over next, cruelly putting him right in front of Arabella, as they do the same, lightly cutting him on the throat, right in front of her eyes. Her brown eyes harden, and she lunges forward, only to be pulled back.

"Move again and he cuts deeper." Claire warns Arabella. Arabella freezes at her words, a desperate look in her eyes as she looks at Nate. Her eyes start to water, and she blinks a few times, blinking back tears as she looks at Nate.

"Aw hell.. Don't cry tomboy. It'll be okay. Don't cry..." Nathan says, smiling slightly at his wife.

My blood boils at the sight, at what these bastards are doing, and I want to fucking beat the shit out of Claire. I whirl around, glaring at Claire.

"What the fuck do you want? You sick bitch!" I scream at her, bringing my sword up, pointing it at her.

"All of your crew to surrender, and no one will get hurt." She sneers, meeting my gaze. I want to knock that smug look right off her face.

"How do I know you won't just kill everyone as soon as you tie up everyone." I spit, glaring at Claire. I thought I was done with Claire a long time ago, but I guess not.

"We won't. Plus, you really don't have a choice now do you?" She asks, tilting her head to the side as she meets my gaze.

She was attractive, I'd give her that. I still don't know what the fuck my father saw in her. Or maybe it was because she had him snowed, that he never saw what I did. At least, it took forever for him to wake up, and leave her.

"Alright. We don't have a choice right now crew. For now, we do as she says." Morgan speaks up, and him and Cecilia, along with Eduardo, followed by Penelope make their way over. Me and Russ quietly comply as well, but I sure as fuck wasn't happy about it.

The navy takes all visible weapons from us, stashing them somewhere inside the Sirius. Claire takes the wheel of the Sirius, and follows the two navy ships back to a navy prison.

Two hours later, everyone is thrown into one large cell, though on the plus side, they untied us, but, we are still in a navy prison, with no easy way out. "Well at least we're all still together..." Allison speaks up first, trying to find something positive in this mess.

"Who was she Kris?" Russell asks, his green eyes meeting my hazel ones, and I sigh.

"My ex step bitch." I growl, glaring at the door to our cell. "She married my dad awhile after my mom died. Both of them work in the Navy. They basically forced me to join as well. I quit later though." I start to explain, but I'm interrupted by the sound of footsteps, heading our way.

Four men stop in front of our cell, two clearly navy officers, by the uniform they were wearing. The other two, I had never seen in my life. One was tall, light skinned, like they didn't go outside much, with messy blonde hair that stuck up in random places. He was built, not overtly so, but enough, with cold brown eyes. He was looking straight at Arabella, with a smirk on his face.

The other man, on the other hand, was tall and built as well, but his skin was tan, with blue eyes, and dark brown, messy hair. He had a necklace similar to Luna's. He on the other hand, was looking intently at Luna.

"Long time no see Arabella." The blonde smirked, as he twirled a pair of handcuffs around his finger, casually leaning against the wall.

"Piss off Johnny." She snarled, scooting closer to Nate.

Johnny chuckles, amused at her response. "Still feisty as ever." He adds, looking her up and down.

Arabella turns her back to him, leaning closer to Nate. I see her quickly slip a hand in her boot, though I couldn't see what she had. Whatever it was, she stuffed it in Nathan's boot, before returning her attention to Johnny.

"And your still an arrogant prick." Arabella scowls, looking at the blonde outside the cell.

The navy officer opens the door, dragging Arabella over to the door. She kicks and elbows wildly, putting up as much a fight as she can. You could tell she was tired, and her leg was still bleeding from the shot she had taken earlier. The other officer aimed a gun at the rest of us, daring us to interfere. Johnny shot a line of fire at us, stopping anyone from getting to Arabella. "The thieves guild." She shouts, looking over at Nathan, who nods silently, as he watches.

There was nothing any of us could do, unless we wanted to get shot or burned. We watched as Johnny snapped the handcuffs on her. She had a determined look in her eyes, as she glares at Johnny.

She touches the chain on the cuff, concentrating on it. She looks up, the surprise clear on her features. "So you finally succeeded at that huh? Fucking coward. Scared I'll blow your ass up huh Johnny?" She taunts, and he slaps her right across the face.

Nathan jumps up, a dangerous look in his eye, as he runs forward, only to be blocked by the bars of the cell. "You always did rely on your abilities. I bet I can still kick your ass." Arabella snarls, as she spits in Johnny's face. Johnny drags Arabella away, down the hall. Nathan watches, and sits back down after he can't see her anymore.

"Luna, brother of Talon. The mer Prince requires your presence." The tan guy states, looking at Luna. Her brown eyes widen in shock, clearly confused.

"What the hell?" She asks raising an eyebrow at what I assume is a merman. "Talon is on land.."

The stranger shakes his head. "Your brother is, but your parents are not. They offered a deal with the Prince of mer people. Your presence is required." He says calmly, not explaining further.

The navy officer opens the door once again, this time dragging Luna out, handing her to the mysterious merman. Luna struggles, looking to Chris. "Mermaids bay then." She shouts, not taking her eyes off of Chris.

"I'll be there soon as I can Luna." Chris says, a determined look in the doctors normally gentle eyes.

They dragged Luna off, leaving the rest of us here.

"We'll figure this out. We will get them back." Cecilia says quietly, glancing at everyone.

"We've gotta get outta here first." Penelope adds, rubbing her temples, as she leans slightly on Eduardo.

We hear footsteps approaching once again, this time it's Claire who stops in front of our cell, three navy officers in tow. Russell steps in front of me, a determined look on his face, as he glares at Claire.

They unlock the cell, two of the officers pointing guns at the crew, the third grabs Russell, pulling him away from me, as Claire grabs me by my wrists, dragging me through the door. The officer ties my hands, and Claire leads me to what appears to be an office, having me sit down across from her, a desk between us.

"What the fuck is the point of this Claire?" I growl, glaring at the woman who had been the reason I lost touch with my father.

"Well, the Sirius are wanted, one less pirate crew off the ocean. I get the satisfaction of seeing you hanged at the gallows, before your father even finds you. We also made a little money handing two of your friends over to other people that wanted them as well." Claire replies, ticking off each reason on her fingers, as she props one foot on her desk.

"Why the fuck do you care about me and my father anymore Claire? I left awhile ago, and he left you." I ask, not really seeing the logic here. Though I guess there really didn't need to be, she was probably just being a sadistic bitch, just like she always was.

Claire snorts. "It's your fault your father left me you brat. You know he's still trying to find you? To make amends?" She sneers, looking at me like I disgust her.

"You brought that on yourself you dumb bitch. Your own fault for treating me like shit. Not my fault he finally saw how much of a bitch you really are. I thought I told you not to talk about him." I add coolly, trying not to show how pissed I actually was. Though I wanted to jump the desk and beat the shit out of her.

"We tried to get you a decent job. What did you do though? You quit, run off, and become a damn pirate." She says, rolling her blue eyes at me.

"Yea and? The navy actually treat people worse than most pirates do. I mean, look at you, you're one of the biggest bitches I know." I say sarcastically, as I smirk at her.

Her eyes narrow, and she frowns slightly at my words. "Regardless, you'll be hung at the gallows in a few days anyway." She adds, shrugging.

"You underestimate us Claire. Watch your ass Claire, I might kick your ass before I leave." I smile at her, as I get up and walk around the desk. My hands are still tied but my feet aren't. Big mistake.

I raise one foot, kicking her square in the face, knocking her off her chair, knocking her sideways. The navy officers rush into the room, pulling me away from her, and though they yank me by my hair at first, I smirk at Claire. It was totally worth kicking her in the face.
