Chapter 8: Im a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world. I'm fantastic, made of plastic!

RIVYN'S P.O.V. ((staring with a recap))

A pair of hands landed onto my waist, guiding my movement. I went along with it, the beat matching our flow. I could feel my partner pressing against my back, his minty breathe breathing into my ear.

Woah. Say what? I spun around came face to face with Noah who had a golden grin, like he just scored the lottery.

"You got good move's," he complimented.

Well, then. This was awkward.

"WHAT?!" I shouted, pretending I didn't hear him. The music was very overpowering compared to my voice. He immediately shut it off, making Klaire and Chris stop dancing.

"I said you got some moves going on," he complimented, winking at me.

Okay, I know. Noah is hot. Like, HAWT. However, he's just not it, you know?

I glanced at Klaire for help, hopefully wishing she knew what to do. She quickly got the message and stepped in front of me.

"Pee break!" she blurted, hands holding her pants.

BRIAN P.O.V

I closed the back gate and made a short cut through the forest into the downtown area. Taxi's beeped, business' shouted for advertisement and the odour of cigarettes made me cough. I headed over to the closest Starbucks and ordered a quick coffee.

Sitting down on one of the two-person booths, I stared out into the city, watching people pass by. I nuzzled my head into my arms, this position somehow making me think. Drifting to sleep I landed myself in a dream.

In my Boat House tank, I was slouching on the park bench, smoking and texting at the same time. It was hot out. My shoulders were slicked with sweat, muscles exposed.

"Get away from me you freak!"

I looked up and found a girl struggling to get away from an old man. He reached for her wrists only to get a kick in the face.

Damn, she could fight.

She huffed and stormed away, happening to be heading in my direction.

"Want one?" I said, offering my cigar as she passed by.

She stopped and looked me over. The air felt sticky and my clothes clung to my skin. For a second I thought I lost my voice. It was weird, I couldn't speak at the sight of her. Her long hair was tied up in a messy yet beautiful way. Her heart-shaped face was soft and her lips were pink, kissable at any time. I stared at her, her body at an average structure. Nice chest, smooth curves, tanned legs. My hand griped my phone, suddenly having the urge just to touch her. Hold her tight.

I've never felt like this with anyone. Ever.

"I don't talk to strangers," she simply replied, starting to walk away.

I grinned. "You want to sit?" I patted the seat next to me. The hot sun shined down on my face, making me slightly squint.

The girl raised her eyebrow, looking sexy. My hand became sweaty. Thank god it was a hot day.

She thought for a moment and gave in, laying next to me.

I was about to ask for her name until she interrupted me. "What do you want?" she growled, crossing her arms.

At first I was about to play it cool but the over-protection in her voice changed it to soft. Like approaching a dangerous animal, not wanting to harm it anymore.

Brian, man! Get a hold of yourself.

I shrugged and grinned, wanting to desperately inch closer. "Nothing."

The girl titled her head with a puzzled look. Suddenly her face darkened and she got up. "Then I guess I'll go then."

My body wanted to scream 'No!' but my mind suggested to let her go. Having the theory that my body is much larger than my mind (logically), I crushed the cigar and stood up beside her. Our arms brushed together for a second, and then quickly broke apart.

"Me too."

She rolled her eyes and spun around, going the opposite direction as where I was suppose to go. Her tanned shoulders were bare to the sun and her hair moved from left to right as she walked.

"My names Brian!" I called out, hopefully getting her to stop.

Instead, the girl kept walking. "What's yours?" I shouted, attempting twice.

She halted, freezing in the middle of the sidewalk. With a smug smirk she glanced back at me. "I don't talk to strangers."

Suddenly a slimy sensation tingled my foot. I kicked it away, hearing a soft whimper. It felt so real. Too real.

I slowly brought my head out of my arms, waking up to see a dog anxiously panting below me. It's golden fur was neatly brushed back, eyes curious as it tilted his head towards my direction.

"What do you want?" I asked, glaring at him. The dream was so confusing yet familiar. So authentic.

The dog nuzzled up to my leg, its leash being dragged on the ground. My eyes went soft, staring into its beady curious eyes. "Where's your owner, boy?" I said softly, scratching behind his ear.

"Toby!"

I glanced up to find a cute girl, about a year younger than me probably. Her blonde hair was in two French braids and her lips were layered in cherry lip gloss. Her riding boots laced up her long legs with a 5'4 structure. She looked like a horseback rider.

"He's yours?" I asked, handing her the leash.

She immediately blushed and nodded her head. "Um....er....yeah......."

I was used to this reaction. Usually I would do my move about now, ending up with my hands tangled within their hair, making-out. Then we would exchange numbers, her dreaming deeply and me deleting it off of my contacts.

I know, it sounds rude, but hey, when it's a daily routine, it doesn't seem that bad.

The girl took the leash, her eyes searching the ground. The dog ran up to the horseback girl and barked at her, glad to see her.

"So what's your name?" I asked, putting back on my familiar charming smile. I took a step towards her, a head taller than her.

The horseback girl bit her lip, daring to take a peek at me. "Barbie Brands," she murmured, shuffling her feet.

Barbie? As in the Barbie doll. I stared at her, noticing the similar features. Sure, she was kinda cute....

I touched her chin, lifting her face so she could look at me. "Want to sit with me?"

"Okay!" she chirped, a bright side popping out. Definitely no hesitation there.

I sat back at the booth as she drifted behind me, admiring the back of my head. Barbie's elbows propped up on the table, her cheeks squished against her hands.

I was about to lean closer until the dream flooded back into my mind, blurring my flirtation skills. I could feel the girl from my dream, her beautiful eyes staring deep into mine as she thought about sitting beside me. Her face was so beautiful, wanting to kiss every inch of it.

"Hey? You okay?" Barbie said, waving her hand in my face.

"What?" I said, shaking my head. "Sorry, what did you say?"

She frowned but quickly flashed her perfect teeth. Too perfect.

"I said, what's your name?" she winked. Well, attempted to anyways. It looked more like a deformed blink.

"Oh, it's Brian," I said, still trying to get over that thought. I couldn't think clearly. Nothing felt right. I can't flirt! What's wrong with me?

"Hey Barbie," I said, taking her hand. It's like I was holding plastic. Although I didn't care. I needed to talk to someone. Even a plastic looking doll.

"When you have a dream. And it could be any dream. And it's about you. And someone else. And you feel different. Something you've never felt before. It's weird and exciting and new. You see things differently than before. You want things that you've never seen or wanted from someone before. You feel like the dream is familiar. It feels like it's real. Touchable. In reach. In your grasp." I look out the window, staring into nothing. I turn my head back to Barbie, gripping her hand. "What do you think it means?"

Barbie stared at me blankly, her small cherry lips shaped as an O. She blinked twice, fake lashes flapping up and down. I was beginning to think she had the same intelligence level as her matching doll but then a big grin started to form on her face.

"What?"

She leaned closer to me, our cheeks barely touching as her lips hovered over my ear. Her breathe was hot, and the smell of coffee went up my nose. "It's a flashback of you falling in love."

I immediately stood still, star-struck. The first thing I did was exit the booth, having Toby bark at me.

"Hey!" Barbie hopped out. "Where are you going?"

Without looking back I reached for the door handle. "Come to my place at 7."

"I don't even know where you live," said Barbie, her expression puzzled.

I told her my address, ten seconds later I was out the door, leaving the plastic-looking girl alone with Toby.

I flipped my hood on, shoving my hands in my pockets as I skipped down the train station stairs. The loud sound of the train coming close shook the ground, the noise rumbling the newspapers nearby. Many people ran past, trying to catch their ride.

Finding an empty bench, I sat down, witnessing everyone cramming into the small carts. A minute later, everyone was gone except the homeless man sleeping in the far corner.

"It's a flashback of you falling in love." I gulped, having the urge to just jump in front of a train.

Okay, I take that back. Not that bad but damn.

Love?

Falling in love?

Brian Daniels in love?

A flashback? I've encountered that moment before? Since when? Wouldn't I have remembered?

Unless... I frowned, leaning back on the seat.

When I was seventeen , I got into a lot of trouble. Seeing things no seventeen year old boy should see. Doing things that I shouldn't have done. My mother eventually found out about everything. She broke out into mom protection over-drive. She sent me to this expensive and very high-tech facility where my dad worked. Persuading the workers, she got us legally in.

The facility was where certain memories could be erased, several specific life times could be deleted from the brain. Although the test wasn't entirely safe, my mother still believed it would be worth it. I had the surgery done, feeling the same. My mom asked me numerous questions to see if I remembered this and that and I replied with a no. My mom didn't tell me about the surgery until later that night. She said it was for my own good, not wanting her son to have a corrupting mind like the neighbours downtown.

She told me that everything was going to be alright and not to question anything about it. I trusted her with that message and went back to school a few days after. I had eight black-outs that week. I couldn't remember several things. The time when I was hitting on a blonde girl, I forgot her name. I forgot about her. I took a few week off again, getting over a serious relationship I once had. Later, I forgot about the pain of our break-up. Like my ex never existed. I was relieved the weight was off of my chest, enjoying this emotion of release.

I was my old play-boy, bad ass self again.

I didn't bother to tell my mom this, not wanting to worry her.

Weeks later, I began to get flashbacks. Dreams or recalls of me with different people. Those dreams and flashbacks felt so real. Like I've been there before. It was usually strange conversations, party images or me doing random things.

This dream in Starbucks though, it was something different. Nothing like I've ever dreamt about.

It was about love.

Not making-out-with-slutty-girl love but actual true love.

I closed my eyes, the sound of people coming closer to the station. I could feel the ground shake again, the sound of loose newspapers flipping and rolling fast.

Was it true? Did I once fall in love with a girl?

If that's true, why would my mom erase that memory from me?

My phone rang, my hand vibrating against the metal. If it wasn't for the sound of the train and the people talking I would have jumped.

I ran out of the station, covering one ear as I clicked the iPhone. "Hello?"

Someone heaved a big sigh on the other end of the line. "Thank god, Brian. You had me worried."

I rolled my eyes and leaned on the railing. "Mooom, really? I'm eighteen for god sake's."

"Yeah, yeah. If you weren't so irresponsible then you 'd be home by now."

I check the time, my eyes widened. 6:50pm? Already?

"Dinner is almost ready to be served and no one's here to set the table!"

"Where's Noah?"

"He's entertaining our guests."

I groaned, remembering Rivyn.

"You better come home, quick."

"Okay, okay. I'm coming."

"Wait! A girl called for you. Her name's Barbie. She said she couldn't come for dinner because she had to take Toby for his check-up. Since when did you invite someone without my permission, young man?"

I smiled sheepishly. "Love you mom! See you soon!" Before she could add anything else I hung up, cursing to Barbie under my breathe.

Guess I'm not going to have an entertainment for the night. Or an excuse to get away from Rivyn.

I headed home, the sun gone when I reached the doorway. I found the key in the pot plant and opened the door. The scent of rosemary and steak filled the room, making my mouth water.

"Brian, what took you so long?" asked Chris, wearing a blue Hollister hoodie and faded jeans.

I shrugged and kicked my shoes off, hitting the wall. "Nothing," I grumbled, my hood still on.

"Noah, dear! Can you help me?" my mom yelled from the kitchen.

If her and Noah were in the kitchen, then who was in the dining room....?

"You won't believe who's living with us!" he exclaimed with a mischievous grin.

"Rivyn?" I hinted, already knowing the answer.

He shook his head. "I mean," Noah pulled me into the dining room, where our guests were seated. "You won't believe who she is!" he hissed.

I looked up, finding a pair of eyes on me. Flipping off my hood, I shook my hair, glancing at the first occupied seat.

Holy mother Teresa.

My face burned with shocked expression. "You're...... Rivyn?"

I thought Rivyn was a slutty bitch with a snuck-up nose and tight face.

Aw hell no. Rivyn DeLor was a hawt!

And it seems we've already met.

RIVYN'S P.O.V.

Woah! Talk about entrance. The way Brain pulled his hood back and shook his hair. I gripped the edge of the table, having the urge to run my fingers through his hair.

Eeerrrrkkkkkssss! Pull the brakes back, Rivyn. This is Brian Daniels you are talking about.

"You're.....Rivyn?" he blurted, eyes wide.

I smirked and rolled my eyes. "No shit Sherlock. And you finally figured my name in," she glanced at her wrist, pretending to check the time, "about three days."

Darby came out of the bathroom, her hair curly as ever. She stopped and glanced from me to Brian, ignoring Chris beside him, then back to me and then back to Brian.

"You two are talking? How sweet!"

I snorted. "More like bitter sweet."

Chris laughed and went over to the kitchen, helping Noah carry the plates.

Brian smirked and sat beside me, his mesmerising eyes staring into mine.

"You know, doll," he murmured, curling his finger around my hair. I swatted his hand away. "I have a craving for sweet and spicy things." Brian flipped on top of me, trapping me to the chair. His movement to fast, he grabbed my wrists, not letting me move.

About to talk, I realized how close he was. How close I was to his hard six-pack chest, with him straddled to my waist. Brian bended over to my ear, his lips brushing my ear lobe. "And you, sweet thing, look damn hot."

I tried to get out but his weight was sitting on my lap, pinning me onto the chair. His lips were slowly slinking closer to mine. For a second, I hesitated, almost giving in until I finally coped for one wrist to slip out.

Ready to fight back, I heard a small gasp behind me.

"Oh my!"

I managed to turn my head, only to find Mrs. Daniels with a mortified look, holding a platter of steak as her eyes were on us. Noah walked in, stunned with Aunt Darby behind with the utensils. She raised an eyebrow and mouthed, 'nice one!' and winked. Chris came in last and whistled seductively, and gave a cat rawr.

I cleared my throat, face flushing red. I glanced at Brian who just smirked and slid of, sitting back at his seat next to me.

"Kids, would you give us a warning next time?" joked Darby, her usual self giggling.

I sighed, cheeks still burning. "I would if I could," I whispered under my breathe.

This was going to be an interesting night.
