.

"You know, I was supposed to introduce her to my cousin who is based in Abuja" Dare teased him.

Osaze's face dropped. "Isn't she with Gbenga?"

"Who the fuck is Gbenga?" Dare asked looking confused.

"The guy she left me for!" Osaze whined.

"I thought you said you were just friends" Dare said his eyes fixed on him again.

Osaze smiled, looking guilty AF. This Dare is a case.

"Look I don't know the child's play you people were doing but it is clear you're not over her and you still want her even after all these months, I don't know why you're dragging your feet around, are you afraid of commitment or something?" Dare said.

"No I am not, it's just.. The timing wasn't right?" Osaze felt really attacked.

"That didn't stop you two from messing around" Dare raised a brow.

Okay he knows everything.

"you're lucky me and Sofi are on a break, I swear I would have linked her up with my cousin by now" Dare said casually as he topped up their drinks.

"Hey, stop now! what is wrong with you" Osaze opened eyes for him. This Dare is not well.

Dare was drunk already but he still laughed wickedly. "I am just giving you a heads up. Sofi will soon come around and she'll take me back"

"I am just giving her small space for now to understand and wrap her head around what happened, this is a temporary break, were just having some issues" He couldn't hide the sadness in his voice. He sounded like he was trying to convince himself more that he would get back with Sofi very soon.

"What did you do, did you cheat?" Osaze blurted turning the attention on him.

"Cheat? No! Bro I love Sofi, its just...... see its complicated.....Look, I love that woman; she is going to be my wife for sure. I love her more than anything in the world. She knows that more than anyone does. She knows." 

The more he drank the more he rambled about Sofi, about how he felt so helpless, he said she want taking his calls anymore.

Lol. So even him sef is struggling with his relationship and he had the mind to drag him for being slow with Toyin. Anyway he collected Sofi's number from him before leaving.

But he was glad he mentioned her to Dare because speaking to Dare made him realize something. The one thing he picked from Dare's rambling is the 'She knows'. 

The way he kept on reiterating that he loves Sofi and the way he said it with absolute certainty made him realize how unserious he was Toyin. From their small gist he could see that Dare was afraid of losing Sofi but he was holding on to the hope that she knows that he loves her and she would come back because of that. That was a serious relationship.

Does Toyin know how he feels? He never let her know for real. Truly, he was just messing around. He never gave her that security or made her feel like he could commit completely to her. Therefore, she was justified to seek that security elsewhere.

If Dare is trying to connect her to someone else it means she is not with Gbenga. He smiled as he thought about it but he wanted to talk to Sofi first. Maybe Dare is just drunk and doesn't know shit.

He tried calling Sofi that night but she did not answer. He tried again in the morning and she rejected the call, the next time he tried again, she blocked the number. 

He wanted to get it right this time but he wanted more info, Sofi is her best friend and honestly, he wanted to gauge her squad's sentiment on him before shooting his shot again.

 After his meeting with the private equity people that morning, he took the next flight from London to Lagos.

Sofi finally answered when he called her with a Nigerian line. He said asked why she kept on rejecting his call and even blocked him since last and she apologized profusely, said he was collateral damage because she is rejecting every call from the UK (+44)  because she is avoiding one 'annoying human being' in London.

Lol wahala for Dare, his case is worse, he has a long way to go.

He met Sofi at her office that night because they were working late. And she told him everything. About how the Gbenga relationship  didn't last, How her friend kind of wasn't over him, how she struggled a little after the pregnancy scare, how the two of them are dumb for not talking about these things and pretending like they don't really like each other and how it is all his fault that her friend is leaving town.

"What?" He said

"Yeah she is moving to Abu Dhabi next week for work" Sofi said. 

You know initially he wanted to talk to Sofi small about Dare, but seeing how she is still mad at Dare, he did not even mention that he got her number from Dare. Dare must have messed up big time.

When he finishes with his own mission he will come back and speak up on behalf of his friend.

He didn't like that Toyin was relocating to the middle east, he knew that Gbenga guy was based there. What if she is going to patch things up with him.

He called the car dealership guy as he left Sofi's office.

The car dealer called her to inform her of the good news that he had found a buyer. Said he would transfer the money that night she was so happy, she didn't expect him to find a buyer so fast. Yay, because more cash to play with.

She sipped wine as she packed her remaining clothes and jewelry carefully into her boxes in the walk in closet. She was expecting one more truck guy to come and move out some kitchen appliances, the man was supposed to be there by 6pm and it was 7pm already. The living room was already empty, her room had been cleared out too the only furniture item left was the mattress on the floor.

She was so excited about this move. So, this is how she has been dulling and missing out on all these adventurous embarkment because she wanted to stay in her comfort zone and play life safe.

Honestly, she was thankful she met Osaze who inspired her to chop life. She was even thankful she met Gbenga because he on the other hand made her realize there was no need to rush into marriage.

Her doorbell rang and she dropped everything and ran to the get it. She opened the door and standing right there was Osaze, looking as fine as ever, he was wearing a T-shirt and jeans with his signature pam sandals.

"Hey" He smiled and her heart melted like butter on a hot pan. But her face had no reaction she was in shock, a very delightful shock. 

She has waited for him to come back all these months since that last time he came here. She told herself she was over him but every time her doorbell rang deep down she wished it was him.

He peered behind into the empty apartment, then shook his head and gave her the keys to  her car. Car she just sold o!

"Where do you think you running to?" He said in that his deep velvety voice and she almost jumped on him but it was in that moment that the yeye truck driver decided to arrive.

"Madam Toyin no vex, the traffic too much today" He said as she moved aside for all of them to come in.

There were no chairs in the living room so they both stood on opposite side of the walls in the corner that leads to the kitchen. He raised his eyebrows questioningly. He is so fine, she had forgotten how hot he could be sometimes.

"I am not running away" She finally answered his question with a chuckle.

"yes you are" He said "You want to Japa but you stopped me from japa'ing eh"

She laughed. "It's not like that"

"So why are moving away?"

"I want to be like you" She smiled and shrugged.

"Me? You should not model your life after mine. I am a clueless and confused adult" He said seriously.

"Well maybe this informed and aware adult needs some confusion in her life"

"But I love this informed and aware adult like that" He said. Looking her in the eyes

"Okay Ma! I'm done" The truck driver interrupted them again. 

Urgh!

"Call me when you deliver them" she said as she walked him to the door then locked the door. She turned and leaned on the door facing Osaze.

He opened up his arms wide and she ran into them, he pulled her in and hugged her tight, squeezed her hard like he was afraid she'd get away again. He was so warm and he smelled so so good. She has missed everything about this man.

"I've missed you, I'm sorry I didn't call earlier" He whispered in her ears.

He pulled away, lifted her face, then planted his lips on hers; he kissed her slowly but fiercely as if his life depended on it. Like she was the only source of oxygen in the world and he was trying to collect all the air he has not received in these past months he has been away. His warm embrace so familiar yet so intoxicating. In that moment she forgot everything she learned about moving on and discovering herself. He is the one she wants to discover.

That is the thing with Osaze; he has the power to conquer her completely with just a kiss.

He made love to her right there in the living room; luckily, there was still one soft center rug in there, he lay her down on it and took off her clothes gently and she let him. She didn't squirm away, she didn't stop him, she was not afraid of getting intimate WITH HIM.
