Self doubt and Cute date
As they sat in a cozy corner of a bustling restaurant, her eyes wandering over the other patrons.
"So what do you want to eat" he lifted his head from the menu card and raised his eyebrows.
Kainaat was lost somewhere else, her gaze flickering between all the other women in the restaurant.
She noticed the other women in their mini dresses and high heels, looking elegant and stylish.
She glanced down at herself, clad in a comfortable sweatshirt, shorts, and sneakers.
A wave of self-doubt washed over her. She adored Shubman and wanted him to find her attractive, even more so than he already did.
"Where are you lost, love?" He asked as he followed her gaze and she snapped out of her thoughts
"Umm, nothing. Let's check the menu" she said, her voice trembling slightly.
*Next day *
Kainaat went for shopping. Determined to make a change, kainaat began experimenting with new outfits.
She swapped her usual comfortable attire for more fashionable, albeit uncomfortable, clothes.
She bought mini dresses and high heels, trying to emulate the women she had seen.
As Shubman returned home after Gym. He walked into the living room and was taken aback by the sight before him.
Kainaat, completely unaware of his presence, was dressed in a sleek mini black dress and a pair of pencil high heels. She wobbled precariously as she tried to walk, her nose scrunched up in concentration.
Just as she was about to take another step, her ankle twisted, and she teetered dangerously. Shubman reacted instantly, rushing forward and catching her from behind before she could hit the ground.
"Whoa, easy there," he said, his voice a mix of concern and amusement. He held her firmly, steadying her as she regained her balance.
Kainaat blushed, looking down at her feet in embarrassment. "I was just trying something new," she mumbled.
"What the hell are you even doing" he chuckled turning her around so she can face him, his hands resting on her arms.
Shubman smiled. "Love, you don't have to change anything about yourself for me," he said softly, his eyes searching hers. "I love you exactly the way you are."
"But I wanted to look... I don't know, more like those girls we see out,"kainaat admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Shubman shook his head, a tender smile playing on his lips. "Those girls might look good in those outfits, but they don't hold a candle to you. Your sweatshirt and sneakers, your shorts and casual style – that's you. That's the girl I fell in love with."
Kainaat's eyes filled with tears, her insecurities melting away in the warmth of his words. "Really?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotions.
"Really," Shubman affirmed, pulling her into a tight hug. "You're beautiful just the way you are. You don't need high heels or fancy dresses to impress me. Just be yourself, love."
She hugged him back, burying her face in his chest. "Thank you," she whispered.
Shubman kissed the top of her head, his heart swelling with love for the girl in his arms. "Now, let's get you out of those heels before you hurt yourself," he said, chuckling.
Kainaat laughed, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She kicked off the uncomfortable shoes and wiggled her toes. "Much better," she said, smiling up at him.
"That's my girl," Shubman said, guiding her to the couch. "How about we go out and enjoy new york?"
"Sounds perfect," kainaat agreed, snuggling up beside him.
*****************
As the sun began to set, Kainaat and Shubman found themselves in the heart of New York City – Times Square. The vibrant lights and bustling energy of the place were infectious, and Kainaat's excitement was palpable.
"Oh my god, Shubman, look at that!" Kainaat exclaimed, pointing at a giant digital billboard displaying the latest movie trailers. She tugged at his hand like a child, her eyes wide with wonder.
Shubman chuckled, his heart warming at her adorable enthusiasm. He wrapped his arm around her waist. "You act like you've never been here before," he teased.
"I know, but it's different this time," she said, looking up at him with sparkling eyes. "I'm seeing it with you."
They wandered through the crowd, taking in the sights and sounds.
Kainaat spotted a street performer dressed as a silver statue and dragged Shubman over to watch.
She giggled uncontrollably as the performer struck poses and interacted with passersby.
"Take a picture with him!" Kainaat urged, pulling out her phone.
Shubman obliged, posing awkwardly next to the statue while Kainaat snapped a photo.
"Now it's your turn," he said, grabbing the phone and pointing it at her.
She struck a dramatic pose next to the statue, her laughter ringing out as Shubman captured the moment.
They continued their stroll, stopping at a hot dog stand to grab a quick bite. Kainaat insisted on getting a pretzel as well, and they playfully argued over who got the bigger half.
"You're such a child," Shubman said fondly, watching her devour her half of the pretzel.
"Hey, food is serious business," Kainaat replied with a mock-serious expression, making him laugh.
As they walked, they came across a street vendor selling light-up toys. Kainaat's eyes lit up at the sight of a pair of glowing bunny ears. She immediately put them on and did a little twirl.
"How do I look?" she asked, grinning from ear to ear.
"Adorable," Shubman said, shaking his head with a smile. He bought the bunny ears for her.
"Shubman, no i am way too old for it" she said laughing and he kissed her forehead as he made her wear the bunny ears
"You can never too old, you know that right" he said, kissing the tip of her nose and she scrunched it making her giggle.
They reached the famous red stairs, and Kainaat insisted they climb to the top. As they sat down, looking out over the sea of people and flashing lights, she leaned her head on his shoulder.
"This is perfect," she said softly. "Thank you for bringing me here."
"Thank you for dragging me out of my comfort zone," Shubman replied, wrapping an arm around her. "I needed this more than I realized."
Kainaat sat up suddenly, her eyes alight with mischief. "Let's take a selfie," she declared, pulling out her phone. They took several goofy pictures, pulling funny faces and making each other laugh.
As they finished, a street artist approached them, offering to draw their caricature. Kainaat was thrilled at the idea, and Shubman couldn't say no to her excited pleading.
They sat for the artist, who quickly sketched out an exaggerated but charming portrait of the two of them. When it was finished, Kainaat squealed with delight.
"Look at this!" she said, showing the drawing to Shubman. It portrayed them with exaggerated features, Kainaat's bunny ears prominently featured and Shubman looking a bit more serious than he usually did. But the artist had captured their essence perfectly.
"It's amazing," Shubman said, smiling at her happiness and kissing her temple.
As they made their way back to her new york apartment, Kainaat skipped along beside him, clutching the drawing and the bunny ears.
Shubman watched her, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him. She had a way of making everything seem brighter, more fun.
When they finally reached her home, they both sunk in the bed, their tiredness taking over. Kainaat buried her face in the pillow while shubman held her close. Seeking comfort in each other's presence.
"Thank you for tonight, Shubman. It was the best date ever." Kainaat mumbled , her voice barely above her whisper. Her voice muffled against the pillow
"It really was," he agreed, pulling her even closer. "You make everything better, love."
"And you make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world," she replied kissing his cheek
