Chapter 34
(Arabella's POV)
Allison continued her story."Another picture, the woman was staring at a sunset on the beach. She looked so happy in the pictures with dad, like she was on top of the world. The last picture I can across looked like a family portrait. I recognized the two boys, as dad, and Toby. The woman was holding two baby girls, twins. On the back there was a love letter of sorts, written to John. After the pictures I found another letter, addressed to John, from Genevieve, and she was saying goodbye in the letter. There was a necklace in the corner of the box, that matched the one the woman was wearing in the pictures. Lastly, I found a journal that was addressed to me. On the inside of the cover was a letter written to me, from Genevieve. It told who she was, her abilities, my twin sister Nadia, and about my possible future abilities, as well as her time with John. I found out the woman in the picture was my mother, and confronted my dad about it...." She trails off, thinking for a moment before continuing.
"Anyway. He broke down, but admitted everything. He explained everything, admitting what he lied about before. I eventually decided to take a trip, not knowing where I was going exactly, but needing a change of pace. Dad tried to convince me not to go, but I had already made up my mind to go. So I packed some essentials, clothes, and toiletries, and my moms journal, and left. I became apart of Captain Cecil's crew, and kept in touch with Toby for a few weeks, but eventually stopped writing to him. I continued to practice my powers in secret, not letting any of Cecil's crew catch on. When I met you all, I still kept it a secret. It's something I don't trust many with, but after time, and learning that everyone was okay about Arabella's gift, I felt I could finally share." She finishes, looking to all of us.
"I'm sorry your mom left, and what you had to go through. I'm glad you found us though, and feel comfortable enough to share your secret." Luna says, looking towards Allison, offering the girl a gentle smile, which she returned.
"Glad you feel comfortable enough. Damn Captain Cecil. What a bastard. I'm still pissed about that asshole.. I'd like a crack at him if we ever see that prick again." Kris exclaims, fire in her eyes, prompting laughter from everyone.
Allison turns her gaze to me next. "I guess that just leaves you then, Arabella." She says, drawing everyone's attention my way, and I shrug, running a hand back through my hair.
I take a deep breath. Some of the stuff I was going to share was nothing new, stuff most knew about me.. But some of it.. Not even Nathan knew about. I looked around at them, the girls, hell, they were the sisters I never had. "Well, first off, I'm glad to have met all of you, you have all become family to me, the sisters I never had. Thank you for sharing your stories, I know that's not an easy thing, and I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to do so....." I trailed off, running a hand back through my hair once more, nervous.
"Well, some of this you know, and is nothing new... Some of this though, is stuff I haven't even shared with Nathan" I start meeting their gazes. "Well, everyone knows my parents ran the thieves guild, and raised me there. They died when I was younger, but they had taught me a lot before they died. Both of my parents were gifted, though I inherited my fathers gift. Gifted weren't that common where they started raising me, but was more common where they were from. That gradually started to change though, not long after my parents died. I eventually left the guild, most of you know, and was on my own for a long time...." I trail off, taking a swig of vodka out of the near empty bottle before continuing.
"The part I didn't share, was the part about why I left, and what happened my last year there. After my parents died, someone else took over the guild. They felt I wasn't old enough at the time, the other members, that I wasn't old enough to take over, so Johnny took over. He went by many names, but I knew him as Johnny. He was a gifted as well. Anyway, Johnny could be a cruel bastard, some say he had no soul. Anyway, he started running the guild into the ground. I know thieves are considered shady, but Johnny was truly fucking shady. Anyway, he started making deals, and dabbling in trades that I don't even know the full details. I do know, he killed people, people that disobeyed him. He also gathered more gifted to the guild, to the point where almost the entire guild was almost all gifted people, before I left. He was big on gifted marrying gifted, for it was more likely that the children would be gifted as well. So he encouraged arranged marriages among the guild, which is something I'm very much against. My parents were a good example for me, two people madly in love. They had issues for sure, but had been through a lot together, before joining the guild. Anyway, besides Johnny running everything to shit, and the shady business, and the killing, the last straw was him trying to force me into an arranged marriage." I pause a moment, gathering my thoughts before continuing.
"I was already pissed about him killing people, and had confronted him before. I was on my way out, when he tried to force me to stay there, and marry someone, some other gifted that I didn't know from another guild. So I was engaged to a complete stranger, an arranged marriage, that as the former heads of the thieves guild's daughter, it was supposedly my duty." I add, the disgust clear in my voice at the thought.
"When I refused, they put me in a jail of sorts. Normally, I would just blow everything up and get the fuck out of there, but they had discovered a very unique gifted young man, whose gift was to cancel other gifts. It neutralized other people's gifts, if he was in the same room as you. His gift only reached so far, and he had to stay in the room with me for his gift to work. So, I had to break out the old fashioned way, without the use of my gift. Most of the guild had gotten weak by this point, solely relying on the use of their gift, though I'll admit, they have some powerful gifted, but they weren't very good at fighting without it. I had learned not to rely on mine, so I broke out of there. I shudder to think what they developed after I left though. They also experimented with amplifying gifts, and trying to channel gifts into objects.. So they easily could have made stuff to cancel gifts by now. Anyway, I left, never looking back. I'll be dammed if I was gonna marry some stranger, especially someone Johnny picked? Yea screw that. I wanted to marry for love, like my parents had. And the rest, well, I became a pirate, and met Nathan and the boys, and now you." I finish, looking at all of them.
"You were engaged before Nate? Holy shit. Nate doesn't know does he?" Kris asks, her hazel eyes wide in surprise.
I shake my head, laughing. "No, he doesn't. That's something I honestly don't want to tell him, but I will eventually." I say, still laughing. "I honestly never thought I would get married, after I left the guild. I would rather spend life alone, then marry someone I didn't love though. The guild was starting to get weird though. For real. Experiments on people, experiments on their powers, and the arranged marriage shit." I shiver slightly remembering.
"That's fucked up. Good thing you bailed." Penelope chimes in, looking at me, and I nod.
"Almost sounds like a cult. That's so messed up." Luna adds, narrowing her eyes.
"Yea it was getting there. Anyway, now what?" I asked, looking at the girls.
"I don't know. Wonder what the boys are up to. Fuzzy never showed up either.." Allison says, looking towards the doorway.
"I'm sure they are goofing off, being boys with the Rika crew." Cecilia says, swimming around.
"Well, these are empty." I add, taking the empty bottles of booze. I stop a minute, thinking, "Hey what do you say to a little target practice Alli?" I ask, looking over to the newest addition to the crew.
"What did you have in mind?" She asks, looking interested.
"Well, I'm a decent shot, if you can make a frozen target?" I ask, tossing her the empty wine bottle.
She nods in understanding, pulling up water, swirling it around he bottle, before freezing it. "Okay. Can I toss it up?" She asks, getting ready to toss the bottle.
"Yea. Toss it as high as you can, and slightly away from us." I instruct, as I charge the empty vodka bottle.
Allison does as I ask, tossing her bottle high and away from us. I chuck my charged bottle as hard as I could, aiming at hers. The bottles collide, exploding, causing an almost mini firework show of purple light, with the blue shards of ice.
"Think anyone noticed that? I'm not sure that was loud or obnoxious enough?" Penelope asks sarcastically, smirking at us.
Before anyone could answer, we hear the sound of pounding feet, and yelling, not that far from the doorway to the porch that lead into the springs. Next thing we know, captain Alan falls through the door. Though he gets up, eyeing and staring at everyone. "The lovely ladies of the Sirius." He says, gawking at everyone.
"And this is why I'm glad we wore swimsuits." Luna announces, glaring at captain Alan.
More pounding feet get closer, and Eduardo runs through the door next, tackling Alan to the floor of the porch, yelling. "That's where you went. Sick bastard." Eduardo growls, wrestling captain Alan. The rest of the Sirius boys come in through the door looking pissed.
"What you all got bored, so you all decided to be perverts and come look at us?" Kris yells, as she grabs a nearby towel, wrapping it around herself.
"Don't lump us in with that pervert. We were trying to prevent this." Russell says, his face pink, as he looks at us, slightly embarrassed.
"Right. You all run to stop captain Alan, and hey, if you all get a peek as well..." I add, shaking my head at them.
"Seriously woman? You're gonna sit there an accuse us of being perverts, when we were trying to stop the biggest pervert from peeking." Nathan says, sounding exasperated as he meets my gaze.
"Nathan's right. Besides, the biggest pervert next to Captain Alan, would be Captain Morgan, not us." Thomas chimes in, and the boys all groan.
"Thomas, Alan is the only pervert here." Morgan says, rolling his eyes.
"Whatever. Just get that bish out of here already!" Cecilia yells, gesturing to captain Alan.
The boys all nod, picking up Alan and dragging him out of there. We quickly get out, wrapping towels around ourselves and gathering our things, before heading to our respective rooms to change.
We all gather together for dinner later, in the dinning room at the place we were staying. Everyone talking and laughing as usual, until captain gets up, before bending down on one knee in front of Cecilia, who's eyes widen. We all go silent at the sight, watching and listening.
"Cecilia, in the short time I've known you, you've captured my heart, when I never thought I would fully open it up to someone. You make me want to be a better person, and you're the kindest, bravest, most beautiful woman I have ever met, and I've fallen deeply in love with you, and continue to fall more each day that I know you. Though you deserve more than the life that a pirate can offer you, I can't imagine spending my life without you in it. Would you marry me Cecilia? Do me the honor of becoming my pirate queen, and spend your life with me, sailing the seas, as my wife?" Morgan finishes his long speech, and pulls out a small jewelry box, opening it, to reveal a beautiful ring.
It had a red ruby, in a silver band, with a slight swirl design on it, that had diamonds embedded in the swirls of the band.
"Yes!" Cecilia exclaimed, and Morgan slipped the ring on her finger, before pulling her to him, and kissing her. The kiss was getting heated, Cecilia kissing him back. The boys started whistling, and cheering.
We were all clapping, happy for Captain and Cecilia."She finally tamed Captain." Nathan muses out loud next to me.
Before I can answer, Eduardo interrupts everyone, including the still kissing happy couple. "Alright get a room already!" Eduardo yells, and they pull apart, Cecilia blushing profusely, her face redder than a tomato.
Morgan merely chuckles at this, placing a soft kiss on her cheek, before taking her hand and leading her back to their room. We all soon followed suit after, returning to our own rooms for the night. It was an interesting trip to say the least, though I felt closer to all the girls. We were all family, our crew, and I couldn't wait to see what happened next.
A/n: okay!! Part three!! Lol. Sorry about that!! Lol.. Okay, so, it's getting closer to the end. Basically we have the epilogue, plus probably an extra tidbit after, more like my long and sappy authors note, that will probably be so long it's going to be its own chapter... Lol. But, I'm already planning the sequel, and definitely have the beginning planned out, so I'll start as soon as this book is finished, I won't drag out the wait on the sequel. Lol. So yea. sorry about having to split his three times. Lol. Thanks for reading!
