---Hussain's POV ---
"Aitki November ton goriye
Roti jatt di pakaya karengi," I sang while making my lunch.
I managed to burn my finger in the process. See, this is why I like to eat out. I'm not the one getting burned.
My phone went off and it was my calendar saying the project is due tomorrow.
Oh f*ck! I thought it was finished but I guess not.
I quickly texted got my partner to see if she was available to work on it.
Guess who replied? Well, definitely not her.
---Text---
H-- hey. Are u free?
A-- it's Aakash & u have spent enough time with her. Leave her alone. I know your past.
H-- We have a project tomorrow 😑
A-- Should've worked on it during the weekend.
H-- Why don't you grow up and we can deal with this face to face?
A--Time and place?
---End text ---
I put my phone away after that and didn't even care to eat.
I've never been this jealous of a guy and the girl, she's technically not even my girl.
I got a phone call a few minutes later and it had her name on it but considering who was texting me I ignored it. However, it just kept going off so I answered.
"Hello," I said.
"I'm so sorry about Aakash. He's really protective of me," she said.
"Ya, I've noticed," I said.
"So you want to work on the project?" She asked.
"Oh ya. If your highness allows it," I replied.
"Text me your address. I'll be over soon," she said.
"He'll murder me if you come over here," I said.
"Just trust me," she said.
"I do," I said.
We hung up and I messaged my address to her.
She better delete that before he sees it.
I felt better after talking to her, so I was able to have my food. Right when I was done with the dishes the doorbell rang.
"Come on in," I said.
"Thanks," she said. "I brought my laptop and the textbook, but I think we are just about done."
"I think so," I said. "Have a seat, I'll get my stuff."
With that I left.
---Arya's POV ---
I put my stuff down and looked around.
I picked up a picture that I was lying there. I wonder who these people are.
It's probably his family, he says he moved away to attend college. Kind of like how I did.
I heard him clear his throat and quickly put the picture away.
"Sorry," I said.
"It's okay," he said.
"Don't you miss them?" I asked.
"Sometimes," he said.
"You should visit them," I said.
"We should do are our work," he said switching the topic.
I avoided asking any further questions to him.
It took about half an hour to get done.
"I told Aakash it's going to be two hours. I knew we would have some time left over," I said.
He seemed surprised by what I said.
---Hussain's POV ---
She lied to spend time with me? That I never saw coming.
"Tell me about yourself," she said.
I figured she wanted to know about my past.
"Well, I had an amazing childhood. Spent a lot of time with my siblings. We were each other's best friends," I said.
"And now?" She asked.
"I lost my entire my family in a car crash. A drunk driver hit their car," I said.
"Oh my God. I'm so sorry," she said.
"It's okay. Not like it was your fault," I said.
I hadn't talked about them in a while so it was a bit hard for for me.
"I used to have nightmares and dreams they were in," I said. "I'd wake up and remember they weren't."
I fought back my tears and she was already crying.
"About 5 months after I started to have a dream about this girl. I still have it to this day. In it, I was apologizing for something that I did. I hurt her, but I don't know how or why," I said.
I avoided telling her that the girl was her. I don't know why, but I didn't feel right. I was scared as well that she wouldn't believe me.
"Have you ever seen her in real life?" She asked.
"I have," I said.
"Did you tell her she's the girl of your dreams?" She asked.
"Not yet," I replied.
Normally, I would say girl in your dreams and not of to a person, but correcting her felt weird. It almost felt as if she was right.
"Do you love her?" She asked.
Do I? I don't think so.
''I don't know," I said.
"Hussain, why did you become a player if you knew about this girl?" She asked.
"I was mad at life. Shortly after everything happen and she started taking place of my family in my dreams, I got mad. I never wanted to see her. So I thought that if I dated other girls then she'd go away from my dreams but she didn't and I began to hate her more," I said.
"Who's the girl?" She asked.
I froze that question.
"Hussain, who is the girl that you hate?!" She questioned again.
Hate? I don't hate her now.
"Hussain, tell me please," she said.
"It was you," I said in a low voice.
"I'm the girl you hate?" She questioned.
"No. You didn't let me finish," i said cupping her face.
"I used to hate her because I thought she wasn't real. When I met you and got to know you, I realized that you are different," I said.
"So that's why you want to go out me," she said. "Because of a dream.''
"At first, it was because of the dream. Remember though, I was apologizing for something," I said.
"I can't believe you could hate me without even knowing me. I mean, I understand about your family," she was saying but I kissed her.
I have no idea what came over me but I kissed her. I wanted to shut up and realize that I don't hate her.
I slowly pulled away and expected to slap me or threaten to call Aakash but she didn't.
"I don't hate you Arya. I want to be with you and not because of the dream. I like you! I get so jealous when I see Aakash around you 24/7. You just asked me if I love the girl. I don't know, but if she can give someone like me a chance I know I'm going to fall so hard for her, because I feel it happening already," I said.
"Are you asking me for a chance after you just kissed me?" She questioned.
I couldn't tell if she was mad or not but I still nodded.
I waited for her to say something but she didn't.
"I understand if you are mad at what I did and I'm sorry," I said.
"How do I know your dream won't come true and you won't hurt me?" She asked.
"Because I'm hoping and praying since the evening of the dance that we can avoid making that come true," I said.
"Hussain, in that case I'd love for you to be my boyfriend and I don't give a
f*ck what anyone says, and yes that means anyone," she said.
And before I could say anything I felt her lips on mine.
This wasn't my first kiss obviously, but it felt like it should have been. Everything people say about a first kiss, I felt it in this one.
The love, the butterflies, the promises, everything.
We both pulled away for air, not letting go of the other.
"I'm going to have to go," she said.
"So soon?" I asked.
"Well, I have to go back because I told him I'd be back," she said.
"I understand. But I'd appreciate if you spent some more time with your now boyfriend," I joked.
"I'm not completely insane about you yet," she said.
"And yet you just kissed me," I teased.
"Shut up," she laughed.
I helped her get her stuff and dropped her to her car.
"So can I call you babe now?" I teased.
"Of course," she said putting her stuff in the car.
"Hussain," she said seriously.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I never thought I'd have to say this, but I hope your dream doesn't come true," she said.
"Me too," I said.
