Three

Tom sits alone

On the second day of school

Watching the clouds in the sky

Roll by

Ma packed him peanut butter

So he had to sit alone

Because of Brandon's allergy

On by, the clouds flutter

Fluffy, white homes

For an angelic company

The clouds are nice enough

But it's waves that he wishes for

Salt that he longs for

Sand that he yearns for

All he could ask for

Christmas, Birthday, Easter

Everything in between

Instead of allowance and sugar-spun dreams

He wants his home back

Back on the island

He wants his white beach back

The sand of fine diamonds

He wants back his quiet, sweet, insightful friends

In the glowing of sea stones

In the waves soft, blue cleanse

But instead he is alone in this landlocked country

And the sea has escaped again.
