Jungkook: She's still looking *mumbles*

Taehyung: What did you say?

Jungkook: *continues mumbling* look away you, bi-

Taehyung: Ah ah ah, language kookie

Jungkook: Bish

Taehyung: You're SO jealous

Jungkook: Even if I am?

Taehyung: No you can't

Jungkook: Whatever

Taehyung: But you can feel jealous if...

Jungkook: If?

Taehyung: You're mine

Jungkook: ...

Taehyung: Will you be mine again?

Jungkook couldn't utter a word. He only returned his question with an astounded expression. Yes he is playing hard to get but he's doing so because he is protecting his heart. Taehyung cheated on him and kept that affair a secret. He left Jungkook at his lowest point. He mistreated him. He took him for granted. He was a total douchebag.

As of now, Jungkook preferred their relationship to stay this way. Taehyung coming to his workplace everyday with hella cheesy puns or pickup lines, them talking nonsense and 'hating' on each other. Making animal noises, speaking alien language only they understand. Jungkook liked it. What they share now is carefree and light as a feather. No boundaries. No restrictions. No commitments.

On top of it all, no pain involved.

He couldn't afford to give his heart a go in being a relationship without being 100% certain that his heart is not going to be broken again if he were to accept Taehyung back. He's playing hard to get not because he wants to. He needs to be in order to not fall in the same trap twice.

Yes, Taehyung has been lovely. Or more accurately, cheesy. But no, Jungkook needed to see more. He's too afraid of being broken especially by the same man.

Jungkook: If I say no, will you give up?

Taehyung: If I give up, I'll change my nickname to Mr Defeated

Jungkook: I'm sorry.. I need more time

Taehyung: I understand. I shouldn't have ask

Jungkook: No it's okay

Taehyung: It's not. I kept forgetting how much of a douche I was. I can't expect to get you back only 3 weeks later after my breakup with-

Jungkook: Please don't mention her name

Taehyung: I won't. Can I ask you something?

Jungkook: Ask away

Jungkook: Yes it meant something

Taehyung: ...

Jungkook: When I place my lips to yours, I could feel it

Taehyung: ...

Jungkook: It was the same feeling

Taehyung: Of when we first kiss?

Jungkook: ... Yes

Taehyung: Why are you still afraid?

Jungkook: I'm not afraid. I'm being cautious

Taehyung: ... I understand. I won't give up

Jungkook: I hope you won't

Taehyung: Donut worry

Jungkook: Looks like Mr Pun is back

Taehyung: Yas. And hey look..

He pointed to the girl who was checking him out.

Jungkook: Yahhh she's still looking?

Taehyung: Is somebody jealous... Again?

Jungkook: Bish. I hate you

Taehyung: Bish. I wuv you too
