Vihan's POV

In about 15 minutes, I was ready to go; I picked up my keys and was going out when I saw my mom standing in front of me.

Oh, God!!

She would ask me about the stunt I pulled yesterday in front of her friend.

"Where are you going, son?"

"To the hospital, Mom. Where else would I go?"

"Before Seven in the morning? You go to the hospital around 9:30. What is so special today? " Mom asked keeping her hand on her waist.

" Mom!! I have some important errands to run. "

" Such as? " She asked. Just then I saw Dad coming there with a smile.

" Mom, please, can we play these twenty questions later on? I am getting late." I said.

"You would not even set a foot out till you reply to me. "

" Dad!! Please help me."

"Sandhya..."

"You keep quiet, Vikram. You spoiled him. He is not going anywhere, till I play twenty questions with him." Mom scolded Dad this time.

" Mom! Dad, tell her to let me go." I pleaded as Dad was easier to convince.

" Sorry!! Who will help me with your mom if I try to plead your case? I am out of it, I don't want to sleep in the guest room. " He said raising his hands with a smile. Mom smiled at Dad.

Ughhh!!!

"Mom, I am going to the hospital nowhere else, you can confirm it from there in about 20 minutes. I have to reach there before Seven."

" Do you have surgery scheduled today early in the morning? " Mom asked me and then looked at Dad. He shook his head.

" Mom, this is too much. I can have some work of my own." I retorted.

" Why don't you tell me what it is?" She shrugged and asked.

" I will tell you later, I promise. Please, you are my best mom." I said hugging her.

" WHAT??" She pushed me.

"Think before you speak, idiot. She is your only mother. I swear darling, there are no other women in my life. " Dad punched me and gave an unnecessary explanation.

" Sorry sorry. You are the best mom in the world. " I said and turned to go out, but Mom caught the back of my collar.

Oh, God give me a break!

" Now what?"

" Tell me about the girl." She asked.

Shit!!

" Which girl, Mom?"

" Awww... you forgot? Let me remind you. The girl you are going to propose. I would like to know about the poor girl you are interested in. I am also ready, take me with you." Dad was grinning by now.

" Mom!! There is no one like that. I was not interested in that girl "

" Well, I think someone is there. Come out with it, or your mom would drive both of us crazy." Dad said.

" Fine!! There is someone...  But I am not hundred percent sure about it. Let me be clear about my feelings, and I will tell you." I said and their face lit up.

" Really??? Great! " Dad said with a grin, and Mom looked absolutely happy.

" Do we know her??" Mom asked when I turned to go.

" Ma!! I am getting late."

" Fine tell me that you are going to meet her."

" No, Mom, sorry to burst your bubble, but I am going to the hospital," I said and ran out.

I wanted to find the delivery man and get all the information he provided, including the payment details or name or address of the sender, who was sending anonymous gifts and messages to Roohi.

I couldn’t take it anymore. The flowers, the cards, the little gifts left at Roohi’s department. All of them were unsigned. All of them were anonymous. Each one carried messages that made my blood boil.

Each time she received one, her expression changed — a mix of confusion and discomfort that she tried to hide behind a polite smile. But I  knew it was bothering her and it was bothering me more than that.

The worst part? I had no idea who was behind it.

But I was done waiting. This time, I will find out.

So I went to her department and saw that there was nothing new till now, but I  was sure he would come, and I would catch the mystery admirer.

Leaning against the wall, I kept my eyes on the entrance of the department. The security guards stood by the gate, ready to leave as their shift was about to be over, which meant anyone could walk in and leave a package unnoticed.

I knew the pattern, the gifts came every day. And if my hunch was right, there would be another one today.

I waited. And waited.

An hour passed.

Then I saw a man...
