Roohi's POV
“So, what are you doing out here all by yourself?” he asked, his tone suddenly more serious.
“Just needed a break from all the excitement, I am not as a party person as you are. It's so calm here.” I replied, keeping my gaze fixed on the twinkling lights above us.
Vihan was silent for a moment, and when I finally looked at him, his expression was softer than I’d expected. Almost... thoughtful.
“I missed my friends; I know Mihir is busy; Gauravi is not here, so I came looking for you,” he said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper.
My heart skipped a beat, and for a brief, crazy moment, I wondered if this was it—the moment I’d been waiting for. But before I could say anything, Vihan’s phone buzzed, breaking the spell.
He glanced at it and shook his head. “I should probably take this.”
And just like that, the moment was gone.
I watched as he stood up, flashing me an apologetic smile. “I’ll catch up with you later, okay?”
I nodded, biting back the disappointment that threatened to overwhelm me. “Sure. Go ahead.”
As he walked away, my heart sank.
But enough was enough now... It was getting high time since Mihir and Gaurvi were in the marital knot now, my family was after my life to get married.
Everyone had someone or another eligible bachelor in mind who was perfect for me, according to them.
How could I tell them that I was in love with a heart specialist whose specialty was to break hearts, and he had been breaking my heart unknowingly?
Maybe it was time to do something about it. If I can't let him go out of my life then I must do something to get him in my life.
Yes, I need to do it now. But what??
I was going in when I bumped into someone.
It really was time to do something about it. If I can't let him go out of my life then I must do something to get him in my life.
I was going inside when I bumped into someone.
I looked up and saw Mihir, "Watch out, Roohi!! I am yet to get married." Mihir said with a smile.
" Mihir, you were right, I need to do something. " I said.
" Yes! "
" But what? How?" I asked.
" You need help... " He replied.
" And who is going to help me with this?" I asked.
"You have someone who solves all problems, though I don't like him, but he is supposed to be very good. If anyone can help you with this it is..." He replied.
" Are you talking about...? " I asked with my eyes as big as tennis balls as I was shocked at what he said; I could not even think of it.
" Yes! You need help and it involves the only person in your life with a success rate that even the great Vihan Rathore couldn’t match... your elder brother, Ranveer Kapoor, a.k.a. Ron."
" No!"
" You don't have any other option, I hate to say it, but I have seen how he solved issues with Dad and Mahi. He even helped Manik bhai and Raj. " Mihir argued.
" He would kill me or Vihan before I even complete my sentence. He always doubted that you were my boyfriend, do you remember how he used to glare at you? He knew you were not flirting with every girl in the city, if he comes to know it's Vihan, he will shoot him between the eyes."
" I have not, but one of the reasons for that was because he loved my sister and never allowed him anywhere near her if I knew he was around. But since he got married to Mahi and I got engaged to Gaurvi, he is sweet with me, though he is still very irritating. "
" Mihir! Mind your tongue, you are talking about my brother." I glared at him and he smiled.
" Find a way, use your sisterly charm. He loves you, I guess only he can get things sorted for you." He said, and I shook my head, and I went away, thinking about what to do.
Mihir was not wrong...
Ron, my first cousin (son of my paternal uncle, elder brother of my dad), was a successful businessman, but more importantly, he was a
master in the art of solving issues regarding love and relationships. Known as the unofficial “Love Guru,” his well-intentioned meddling had already brought half a dozen couples together.
Shall I ask him to help me??
No, he was like the rest of my brothers/ cousins.
What if he kills me right after that?
I needed to take a risk because I didn't want any other man as my life partner, so I needed help, and Bhai had to do it. Even I thought he could do it; in fact, only he would be able to do it.
But what do I say to him?? And how?
Just then I recalled something and smiled.
Yes!!! He would have to help me. He promised me...
After years of keeping my feelings locked away, finally, I was going to make a move and tell Ron Bhai.
I slipped away from the lively crowd and found Ron Bhai standing near the veranda, away from the noise. He was deep in conversation with someone over the phone.
I stood there biting my lip, trying to muster the courage to speak. He was oblivious to the emotional storm brewing inside me. How was I supposed to tell my brother—my overprotective, controlling, "I’ll punch anyone who looks at you wrong" brother—that I needed his help to get the attention of the biggest flirt I’d ever met?
The moment his eyes met mine, he excused himself and ended the call.
"Hey, Roohi! What are you doing here? Everyone is ready to go home, they were looking for you. Raj, Myra, and Chachu Chachi have already left; Mom, Dad, and Ruhan are still here; you can go with them. Wait let me call Ruhan." He said and started dialing my younger brother's number, but I stopped him.
" Bhai... Er...umm... I... need to talk to you." I said hesitantly. He looked at me as if he was trying to read my mind.
" Right now?" He asked and I nodded.
" Here?" He asked again, I nodded hesitantly.
