Vihan's POV

The baraat reached the main entrance by now, the music and celebrations reaching a crescendo. But even amidst the chaos, my eyes kept drifting back to her. She was laughing with Mahi now, her smile lighting up the evening like fireworks. She hadn’t looked at me once till now.

And yet, I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

She went to greet Mihir's parents with her family and they all said that she was looking very beautiful, very different today.

"Yes, Aunty, I took her to my salon and told my team to give her a new look since it's her friend's wedding," Myra said. Roohi just smiled.

"She is looking so pretty, I am sure many eyes will follow her today." Megha Aunty said.

Shit, many sets of eyes were already following her.

" Sia, I am sure your family will get many calls from the parents of some very eligible bachelors." Megha Aunty said and applied some Kajal behind Roohi's ear. She blushed at that.

What the hell!! No! It was too soon to get married. She is only 26.

But why the hell was she blushing?

"Sujoy bhai suggested a very nice guy. He has invited them to the wedding as well so that they get a chance to meet a few times." Sia Aunty said.

What is the hurry? She is not getting old.

" Great!" They kept talking while I could not take it anymore and went to talk to her. I greeted her family, and her family smiled, except for her irritating brothers.

"Hey! Where have you been? Mihir has been waiting for you. Let's go. " I said holding her hand. Raj and Ron glared at me for holding her hand like that. I left her hand as I didn't want to create any issues.

"Yeah sure, let's go!  I was coming, why did you leave him alone?" She asked me.

What? No greetings, no compliments, nothing??

"He is a grown-up man who can easily take good care of himself. We need to talk. " I said getting uneasy by her ignorance.

"No! It's Mihir and Gauravi's day, they should be our top priority. " She said and rushed to meet Mihir, I had to follow.

" Wow! Someone is looking very handsome. " She said to Mihir as soon as she saw him.

Was I not looking handsome?

"Thanks, but who are you?" Mihir said.

"Mihir??" She rolled her eyes.

"Do I know you? " Mihir asked.

"Yes, I am your best friend, Roohi." She replied.

" And where was this best friend of mine since last night? " He demanded.

" Trying to get my life on the track. " She said looking into his eyes. He smiled and nodded with a broad smile.

What was that?? They always talked like this... As if they were talking in some coded language or they had some common private topics they were talking about.

"Great! All the best." Mihir said. She hugged him.

"And you are looking extremely pretty today, what have you done? Some kind of magic or makeover?" Mihir asked. She just smiled.

"Well, we will talk about me some other day; it is the most important day of your life. Are you happy?" She asked.

" Yes! I am getting what I wanted; I wish she was also as happy as I am; my happiness would have multiplied. " He said.

" Everything will be fine! " She said and hugged him again.

Just then Ron came in and asked Mihir to come as it was time to go in.

We all went in after all the rituals were performed. The hotel was decorated very beautifully and we all went to the stage that was meant for the varmala. ( Exchanging garlands)

Half of the city was invited, everyone in our family group was there, and there were so many beautiful girls there, but somehow, today, I was stuck on Roohi.

She was still avoiding looking at me. She even gave a compliment to Mihir earlier, but not to me...

Was I not looking handsome?

He gave a compliment to her first... When was the last time, you gave a compliment to her? A familiar voice echoed in my mind.

" Er.. Roohi,  you are looking very pretty today. "I said.

"How many girls have you given the same compliment today?" She asked looking away.

Shit!!!

"Just you," I said softly.

" Oh, c'mon! I am Roohi; I have known you since we were in kindergarten. You don't need to be polite with me, I must go and see Gauravi." She was about to go when I held her hand. She turned to look at me.

" What??"

" Roohi, are you angry with me because of something? Did I do or say something wrong?" I asked.

" Of course, not! Why are you asking that?"

" You are not behaving normally with me. "

" I am absolutely fine. What's wrong with you? Gauravi must be waiting for me, she really needs me. " She replied.

" I need you too," I said.

" Oh, c'mon, Vihan, stop it! See, there are so many good-looking girls. Why..." She was saying but I could not take it anymore.

" Why did you not tell me, your family is looking for..." I wanted to ask but she didn't let me finish.

" How does that matter?" She asked,  looking away.

"How does that matter?? Of course, it matters. I share everything with you, why didn't you tell me?" I asked.

"It was not important. Well, I need to go and be with Gauravi..." She turned to go but I tugged her hand.

"It was not important? Then why did you tell Mihir about it?" I asked.

" I didn't tell him either. He saw Mamu introducing me to a guy, so he asked me, and I told him."

" But you could have told me as well," I said.

" You were busy." She said looking at me without any expression on her face.

" Roohi, that's not right..." I was saying when the music changed and we all looked towards the entrance.

" Shit!! Let it be... Concentrate on the wedding. Our friends are getting married." She said.

Just then we saw Gauravi coming with her family.
