Roohi's POV
Once my hair was done, I could see the subtle transformation taking place. I looked like a different version of myself—refined, polished, elegant. The idea of wearing something completely new was starting to make sense. Bhabhi was right—this wasn’t just about the physical appearance, it was about how it made me feel.
After the hair and skin care treatment, bhabhi led me to a luxurious velvet couch where a team of assistants had laid out several dresses sent by Mohit Mamu. The dresses were exquisite, each one more beautiful than the last. My heart fluttered with excitement. Mohit Paul’s creations have always been legendary, and I have always been a big fan of his designs. My wardrobe was full of his designs.
Myra Bhabhi pointed to one dress and said, "I think this is the one, Roohi. It's elegant, but it has that sensuous appeal that will make you stand out."
I looked at the dress she had chosen—a breathtaking lehenga with intricate gold embroidery. The fabric was soft and almost weightless, and the design was a perfect blend of traditional and modern. The lehenga skirt flared out elegantly, while the blouse was intricately designed, with delicate beadwork and a plunging neckline that added just the right amount of allure. The dupatta was sheer, with a soft, golden shimmer that would catch the light perfectly.
As I tried it on, I was in awe. The dress fit like it had been made for me. It hugged my curves just enough to give me shape, but it wasn’t too tight. The wine color complemented my complexion perfectly, and the gold embroidery added a touch of royalty to the overall look.
I spun around in front of the mirror, feeling like a queen. My heart skipped a beat when I realized how stunning I looked. It wasn’t just the dress—it was everything. The makeover, the way the fabric moved with me, the way my hair framed my face. I was a different person, someone who looked and felt confident.
"This is perfect," I whispered, my voice filled with awe.
Myra Bhabhi grinned. "I knew you’d love it. Now, for the finishing touches." She said.
After the dress was on, I was led to a chair where the final touches were applied. A makeup artist worked her magic, using subtle tones to accentuate my natural features. My eyes were framed with soft, smoky eyeshadow that made my dark brown eyes look even more intense. A sweep of highlighter along my cheekbones added a subtle glow, while my lips were painted a soft nude pink, giving them a natural but fuller appearance.
As I watched myself in the mirror, I hardly recognized the girl looking back at me. I had always been plain, always kept to the sidelines. But now, I was radiant. I was beautiful in a way I had never allowed myself to be before. The new version of myself wasn’t just about external beauty; it was about the confidence that came with it.
I walked over to the full-length mirror, feeling the fabric of the lehenga swish around my feet. I couldn’t help but smile. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was seeing the real me. The confident, bold version of myself that had been hiding in the shadows for far too long.
"How do you feel?" Myra asked, her voice soft and encouraging.
I turned to face her, my eyes filled with excitement. "I feel... amazing. I can’t believe this is me."
Myra smiled, satisfied. "You should feel amazing. Now, you’re ready to turn heads."
I wish to turn just one head, Bhabhi. I hope I can do it.
As I left the spa, I could feel all eyes on me. The way the fabric of the dress flowed with every step, the way my hair cascaded around my face—everything felt different. I was no longer the girl who faded into the background. Today, I was the center of attention, and it felt incredible.
I couldn’t wait for the wedding. I couldn’t wait to see Vihan’s reaction. Would he finally see me as something more than just his childhood friend? Would he finally notice me?
Vihan if even now you don't notice me, then you are gone!
For the first time, I didn’t care. Because today, I had done this for myself as well. I had made the change for myself, to feel confident, to feel beautiful. And that, I realized, was the most important thing of all.
Bhabhi and I reached Jindal's mansion as we had to reach there before Baarat. We saw the Baarat; I went in to meet Gauravi while bhai and Bhabhi joined Baraat.
