Chapter 21

Merry Christmas 🎉🎉🎉

Since it is quite close to the target and it is Christmas, I am posting this. Ease vote, comment, share and follow to read everyday.

My book Hired Fiance on Gn will be completed tomorrow, and then I will give regular updates on this book on GN.

You all know that I have already posted up to chapter 27 there, so I can easily give more chapters in one day here, but the target should be achieved.

Roohi's POV

I got ready, and just then, there was a knock on the door; I opened the door to see my mom standing there.

"Good morning, Mom," I said and she smiled.

"It's good that you are ready, come out and have breakfast with us. Mahi has also come as Mahi forgot to pack something that she needed for the wedding." By the way, what do you think about the guy Sujoy bhai introduced to you?" Mom asked.

" Mom, please not right now!! I am too busy to discuss this at this moment. We will see later on. " I said.

" Fine, but you can't get away with it; you're not a child now and not getting younger. You need to settle down. "

" Mom, please!! " I said and went out to join others.

We were sitting together having breakfast when Myra Bhabhi’s voice broke through my thoughts.

"Roohi, it's your best friend's wedding! You should look a little different today. It's high time you pay some attention to yourself, maybe give yourself a little makeover. This is the perfect opportunity since you're attending Gauravi and Mihir's wedding."

Her words tempted me. A makeover sounded like just what I needed. But I was determined to be by Gauravi’s side. She was going through so much and was having all the wedding rituals in one day.

"Bhabhi, I need to be there with Gauravi..." I said, a hint of reluctance in my voice.

"Go for the rituals first," Myra Bhabhi suggested. "Afterward, I’ll take you to the salon."

"But Bhabhi..." I hesitated, unsure.

"Roohi, Myra is right," Mahi Bhabhi chimed in, her voice full of warmth. She and bhai had come back as they had forgotten something she needed.   "You’re so pretty, but like an unpolished diamond. You just need a little polishing, and you'll shine. Let Myra take care of you, and everyone will be stunned by your glow."

"See, Mahi is truly a daughter of the diamond king of our country, look, she even compared you to a diamond that needs polishing." Ruhan teased her as they were classmates all their lives.

Everyone burst out laughing, but there was something about their words that struck me.

" Yes, Myra is right, beta please do the needful. Some marriage alliances are coming for her, Sujoy bhai wants to invite a very nice boy and his family, so it is better if she looks even better. " Mom said to Myra Bhabhi, and she nodded with a smile.

" Mom, I don't want to look good for any random guy..." I got annoyed.

"You don’t have to look good for anyone else, but for yourself. Today, your friends are getting married, and you’ll be in all the pictures. You want to look your best." Taiji, my dad’s elder brother’s wife, added in her sweet tone, "Your friends would love to have good pictures with you, especially Mihir and Gauravi. They would want you to look your best too."

I knew she was saying it kindly, but I wasn’t a child. I understood the underlying meaning.

"Yeah, think of Mihir and Gauravi," Mahi Bhabhi added with a wink. "Give them and everyone a surprise with your makeover. Shock them with how amazing you’ll look."

"Fine, I’ll be ready by 1 PM," I sighed, giving in. "Then we can go."

Myra Bhabhi raised an eyebrow. "Have you chosen your dress yet?"

I shrugged. "No, I’ll just wear something. I have plenty of dresses."

"What nonsense! Your best friends are getting married, Roohi. Why didn’t you get something new?" Myra Bhabhi scolded me lightly.

I groaned. "Both my brothers just got married last year. I have so many dresses that I’ve never worn."

"No way!" Myra Bhabhi said, shaking her head. "I’ll have Mohit Mamu send over a few options to my salon in your size. Trust me, you need something fresh."

"But why trouble Mohit Uncle? I have enough dresses." I shook my head and argued.

"It’s no trouble at all," she insisted, her tone final. "No more arguments. You’re getting a makeover, and that’s that."

I could feel the weight of her determination, but honestly, even I was a little excited. I wanted to look good, to feel confident. I wanted Vihan, that idiot, to see me as a girl—not just a girl who’s always in the background.

After breakfast, I headed to Jindal Mansion to join Gauravi for the rituals. She looked calm on the outside, but I could see the anxiety in her eyes as she tried to smile.

Once the rituals were completed, Maurvi Aunty, Gauravi's mother, urged her to rest. I excused myself and headed back to Mihir’s house, where most of the family had already gathered.

Myra Bhabhi was waiting for me. As soon as I stepped inside, she told me to hurry because Raj Bhai was heading to the same area for work.

Just as I was about to leave, I saw Vihan coming towards me, his face serious as he wanted to talk. But Bhai and Bhabhi were waiting, and I didn’t feel like talking to him at that moment.

I excused myself without a second glance, walking away with Bhai and Bhabhi.

Vihan probably thought I was still carrying that outfit for him, after the way he’d abandoned me for some random girls every single time.

No, that girl is gone!! He will see Roohi 2.0 now.
