Instead of watching, as the siblings did, Ryder was content enough to sit outside and wait. He scrubbed his hand over his face harshly, only then he realized his hands were covered with Alison's blood.
Closing his eyes, his knees ache at the change of pressure when he stood up, he couldn't get Alison's terrified face out of his head. The pleading look that she gave Ryder would haunt him for the rest of his life, shaking his head he brought himself out of his thoughts and went to the bathroom.
He opened the door with his shoulder, that's when he saw his face. He saw smudged blood from where he touched his face. He wanted to turn the light off so he wouldn't have to see his face, but he needed to get clean.
Luckily the towels are a nice maroon color so it would hide the blood and it wouldn't be a total loss if the blood would stain. Sighing, he turned the handle and let it run, he dipped his hands under the water before taking some soap and rubbing around.
He didn't think it was going to do anything because the blood wasn't budging but it started to slowly wash away. He was going to get started on his face when Klaus walked by quickly, he furrowed his brows and stuck his head outside the bathroom door but he didn't say anything he just watched as Klaus went up towards his room with his head down.
He'll have to check on him after he's finished washing his face Ryder thinks to himself, he dips the towel in the slightly warm water before starting to gently wipe his face. He didn't want to have to use soap for this part considering the blood spreads over his eyes and mouth.
Since it was fresher it was easier to get off, but it was still a pain. Once the blood was off his face felt itching and stiff, he pushed down the urge to punch someone instead he needed to check on Klaus. Ryder heard talking in the living room but he ignored them, instead, he walked up the stairs. Klaus's door was open, he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
"What are you doing?" Ryder asks, watching as Klaus is walking around the room rummaging through stuff. "I'm looking for drugs." Klaus bluntly says, he knows he should stop him but he has no energy too.
Ryder hums and sits down on Klaus's bed. "Why don't we drink instead?" Ryder suggests pointing to the bottle of vodka in the corner. "No, I want drugs. I'm done listening to you." Ryder huffs, he sits the pillow he was holding off to the side, and grabs Klaus by the arm dragging him towards the bed.
"Ry, you're hurting me." Klaus whines, only then do Ryder realize how tight he was gripping him. Ryder makes a wounded noise in his throat and Ryder kisses the spot, when he looked up he can see Klaus sporting a light blush on his cheeks.
"We should talk about it," Ryder says intruding on the silence between the two men. Klaus who was laying against his shoulder nodded slightly. "We should, but now isn't the right time. We should go downstairs, check Alison and the rest of the family." Ryder didn't want to but he knew Klaus was right. Now wasn't the time to talking about their dating life, they had the end of the world to think about.
They both looked at each other regretfully as they got up, they didn't know what was waiting for them downstairs but they knew it was going to be heartbreaking. "Perfect, we need to talk," Diego said when he saw the two of them come down the stairs.
"What about?" Ryder asks sitting on the couch across from where Five and Diego were standing in the middle of the room.
"The bastard that nearly killed Alison is still out there, with Vanya. We need to go after him." Diego says as he paces the living room rug. "Vanya is not important."
Diego cut him off before he can say anything else. "Hey, that's your sister, that was a little heartless even for you." Ryder nods in agreement, stopping only when Five looks at him angrily.
"I'm not saying I don't care about her, but if the apocalypse happens today, she dies along with the other 7 billion, Harold Jenkins is our first priority."
Ryder coughs to get the attention on to him. "I hate to say it, but I agree with, tiny suit." Klaus chuckles at Ryder's joke meanwhile Five didn't find it very funny, he didn't even crack a smile. "Let's go," Diego says resigned.
"Can you guys count me out?" Klaus speaks for the first time since they walked into the room. "I mean no offense or whatever it's just I just kinda feel like this is a whole lot of pressure for a newly sober me." Ryder knew an excuse when he heard one, and this was it.
"You're coming." Diego stares at Klaus. "No no, I think we can all agree that my powers are pretty much useless, I'd just be holding you guys back." They weren't buying it, but Ryder was getting ready to jump up to defend him. "Klaus, get up." Five's tone told Klaus to cut the bullshit.
"You can't make me."
The knife came fast, sticking itself on the couch, Ryder jumped up and tossed a fireball just perfectly so it wouldn't hit Diego in the head, just enough so he could feel the warmth. "You missed," Diego smirked.
Ryder shook his head. "I never miss, just didn't want to ruin your pretty face." Ryder walked up and patted Diego on the face who shrugged him off.
"Fine, I'll go. Only if Ryder comes though." Klaus looked at Ryder smirking.
