Turns out Klaus needing Ryder was a lot sooner than he thought, and it wasn't to tie him up. Luther had gone missing, now Ryder could care less about what happened to Luther but Klaus did and that was enough for Ryder to go along with looking for Luther no matter how much he hated him. "We've been to seven bars, three-strip joints, and a laundromat. I'm sorry Klaus but what makes you think we can find him?" Ryder looks at Klaus, his breath catches when he notices how Klaus looks in the moonlight.

"I know you don't like him, but we have to keep looking." Klaus looks at Ryder wide-eyed, even in the moonlike Ryder could see how clammy Klaus was from detoxing. "Are you sure we shouldn't be home, you need fluids. You are detoxing." Klaus waves Ryder off with the wave of his hand.

As they're walking down the alleyway their attention gets caught by some people laughing at each other, Klaus stops and looks at Ryder before turning his head towards the laughing group. "That's the biggest hairy guy I have ever seen." Ryder sighs, they found Luther.

"Found Luther." Klaus made his way towards the door but Ryder held him back by grabbing his arm loosely. "Are you sure you should go in there?" Klaus looked down at the hand holding his bicep and nodded. "Yes, why shouldn't I?"

Ryder dropped his hand from Klaus's bicep before lowering his voice. "Temptations Klaus, a bar is the number one place you shouldn't go right now, especially while detoxing." Klaus rolled his eyes and walked towards the door of the bar, giving Ryder no choice but to follow him so Ryder can keep Klaus out of trouble.

Ryder's given up on not drinking but Klaus has been doing really well detoxing from drugs so Ryder doesn't want Klaus to mess that up just because he's around his temptations. Ryder had to plug his ears because the music was so loud, but he stayed close to Klaus.

Ryder looks over and sees Klaus doing the same thing as him, Ryder nudges their elbows together and gives him a thumbs-up as his way of asking how Klaus is doing. Klaus made a so-so gesture in reply.

"God, this is torture." Ryder could make out that Klaus by reading his lips. "We'll just find him and get out, okay?" Ryder yelled over the music but he wasn't sure Klaus even heard him. They stopped in the middle of the entrance because they found him, in the middle of the dance floor shirt off.

They both dropped their hands from their ears and said the same thing at the same time. "Holy shit." Klaus looks at Ryder. "Do you think he knows?" Ryder shrugs and puts his hand out because he knows Klaus is going to walk over there. "I don't think he cares."

"Come on." Klaus grabs the outstretched hand and walks through the crowd with Ryder behind him. "Luther!" Klaus shouts once they're close enough that Luther should hear them.

Luther looks at them both confused before smiling wide. "Brother!" Luther rushed towards Klaus and gave him a hug that had Ryder wincing in fear that he broke some of Klaus's bones.

"Isn't this amazing?" Luther asks looking at Ryder who faux nods. "Yea, we need to get you home." Ryder looks at Klaus who nods seriously, they grab Luther's arm to try to get him moving when he yanks his arm back like it was nothing. "Home? This is my home now." Ryder his eyes.

Ryder scoffed when a woman came over and started running her hands over Luther's chest hair. "He's inebriated, Klaus." Ryder leaned over so Klaus could hear him, Klaus looked at Ryder and nodded in agreement. "Have you ever tried one of these?" Luther asks showing the two of the tiny white pill he took. "No!" Ryder shouted when Klaus grabbed the pill, Ryder thought he was going to take it but he threw it across the room.

"Why'd you do that?" Luther asks Klaus in protest of no longer having the white pill. Ryder cut in before Klaus could speak. "It's bad for you, we need to go." What Ryder didn't notice was the anguish on Klaus's face while he was speaking to Luther.

"No!" Ryder heard from beside him, he turned to no longer see Klaus where he was standing, he furrowed his brows as he was trying to find Klaus. Then he did, he saw Klaus crawling on the ground trying to get the pill.

Ryder's eye widened and he tried to push through the people to get to Klaus so he could stop him from taking the pill. "Excuse me." Ryder thought about using his powers but decided against it for now. "Klaus!" Ryder knew yelling was no use over the loud music but he hoped somehow Klaus would be able to hear him, but he made no notice that he heard Ryder.

That's when he noticed, Klaus was curled up in a ball near the pill. "Oh god, Klaus." Ryder tapped his face slightly and Klaus was brought back to the real world, but his eyes were still clouded.

Klaus paid no mind to Ryder as he picked up the pill. "Klaus, don't!" Ryder was about to grab the pill when his glance was caught by something else, or should we say someone else. Ryder followed his glance to see the man from before who was staring at Luther for stealing his "girl" winking at Klaus before walking towards Luther. "We have to save him." Klaus looked at Ryder, Ryder could tell Klaus wasn't completely with him because he had no recollection of ever seeing Ryder beforehand.

Ryder was about to ask Klaus the plan when he suddenly jumped on the man's back. "Luther!" Ryder heard Klaus shout trying to get the man's attention but he was too wrapped up in dancing with the woman that he didn't hear over the music.

He saw red when the man threw Klaus down onto the concrete, Ryder ran towards Klaus closing his eyes tightly fearing the worst as he pushed past the people. "Klaus, hey. Can you hear me?" Ryder tapped Klaus's face a few times before he leaned down and listened to Klaus's heart, it was still beating.

Sighing in relief he looked at the man who threw Klaus, with a wave of Ryder's hand the handle of the bat he was holding got hotter and only simmered when the man dropped it.

A gasp was all the warning Ryder got before Klaus jumped up gasping. "Thank god, you really scared me." Ryder put his hands on both sides of Klaus's face, he could kiss him but he knew it wasn't the right time.

Klaus didn't say anything, he just sagged against Ryder, heart beating quickly. It felt like forever but it was the scariest few seconds of Ryder's life, which told him that he was in love with Klaus.
