Levi woke up to the sound of beeping trucks and moving cars and he grumpily sat up straight as he groaned aloud. He rubbed at his tired, sore eyes and ran his pale and thin fingers through his charcoal coloured hair. He grit his teeth together with irritation and got up from bed, walking over to the window where the bothersome noise was coming from. He pulled away the curtains to the side and squinted down at the scene below him.

There was a medium sized moving truck with small cars crowded around it. There were a bunch of middle aged men lifting heavy boxes and objects into the apartment building. They were shouting orders to one another and Levi had to hold in the urge to yell at them to shut the hell up. Why now? Why were they yelling and honking so early in the morning when he should have been sleeping?

It was too late now because his mind and body was fully awake and he couldn't possibly go back to sleep even if he tried. He dragged his overworked feet out his room and headed to the kitchen to prepare some tea. It was probably a bad idea since he was sweating in his sleep, and drinking a hot beverage would probably make the whole situation worse. Due to no air conditioning in his apartment (yet) , he had to sleep half naked which made him a little cooler but it made him feel a little exposed.

The moving truck was of course for some new neighbour and Levi hoped they didn't end up with a run down apartment like him. The short man listened to more noise as he finished making his tea and took a long and thoughtful sip as he held the mug by the rim with his finger tips. There was a lot of things he was hoping for and one of them was that his new neighbour wouldn't be so loud.

He nearly dropped his cup of tea when he heard a loud smashing sound coming from outside his door.

"Oh my God don't drop the piano please," a teen boy shouted. "That's a Boston piano so it's really expensive and you do not want to break it."

(an: boston is a piano brand of the steinway and sons piano company but daYuM son they have some fine pianos)

The shout was followed by a jumble of apologies and soon the voices died out. Levi finished his tea in silence as he eyed the music sheets on the counters, tables and chairs and soon realized that he had grown bored to his new life already. He wasn't going to have any concerts until the next school year rolled along and he didn't know what to do until then. He already practiced until his fingers felt like they were going to fall off and he read the same scores until it was embedded into his brain.

The short man didn't really understand why but maybe it was because all of his acquaintances lived far away from him now that he moved and he couldn't help but feel a small sting of regret inside his heart. Life was boring now and all that was exciting was having to wait for competitions. Waiting, waiting and waiting really wasn't amusing.

Eren was grumpy because he had to wake up super early and to make it worse, he almost lost his temper because one of the moving men probably dented his new piano. He didn't like piano much but it didn't mean he wasn't going to take care of it.

It was six in the morning and the teen could barely keep his eyes open for more than five seconds. He had about two large cups of coffee already but he didn't feel awake at all, he felt jittery and cold. His sister and mother traveled a few hours away to his new home with him and decided to head there early because they had work to do later on. He had no problem with that, but he was an absolute nightmare when he wakes up early in the morning but he couldn't help it, mornings sucked after all.

Eren was told he didn't have to do anything since there was so many moving men who were there to move his stuff anyway. He was inside his new apartment and sitting on cardboard box filled with what was probably books and text books. He felt useless but even he had to carry some boxes, his arms would not work due to fatigue. The first objects that were loaded into the small apartment were instruments and the new piano because Eren hated it when instruments became cold after being locked up in a space for more then an hour.

The apartment was in good condition for a reasonable price and Eren was glad that it came with good appliances as well. The walls were white with light green accents and the place had a pretty spacious living room. It was going to be a little lonely but he was okay with that because he would have the company of music. Eren flinched as he realized he would no longer be able to go to café performances and sighed with regret.

It was a very warm and bright day because Summer was nearing and Eren cringed just thinking of playing in the heat. The school year went by so fast and he couldn't believe he was going to graduate high school in just a week. It was like his life was put on fast forward and soon he was going to have to do adult things like paying for taxes and living on his own.

The teen who was once a boy did not notice he was growing up too quickly and it made him a little sad.

The fact that he didn't appreciate his past liveliness was big enough to move him to tears.

He couldn't do anything about it because he was ( of course ) not a magician so there was nothing he could do to change anything.

The men soon loaded the rest of the boxes into his new tiny home and left, leaving Eren with his mother and sister but was soon alone when they also had to leave. The atmosphere felt a lot different in his new home than his old one, but maybe that was because no one else was with him. He wasn't going to unpack quickly, mainly because he was tired and just wanted to play his guitar.

Eren stumbled to retrieve an acoustic guitar out of a semi-unpacked box and walked over to the wall and leaned against it as he slid down. He started strumming and his fingers picked and plucked at the strings as he played some kind of acoustic version of a song belonging to one of his favourite rock bands. His vision was a little dark, kind of like going through a cave and he felt light headed as he mumbled lyrics to himself. His head lolled to his shoulder and he loosely gripped the neck of his guitar.

He played loudly because it was one way to wake himself up and make him feel way more energied than before, but he wasn't feeling it. It seemed that all his life has been sucked out of him ever since the competition ended and there was no strength left in him. The teenager stayed like that for a while and was actually about to sleep when he heard a loud banging sound coming from the wall behind him. He jumped with surprise and his eyes were wide with alert.

For a second, he forgot he wasn't the only one in this building; playing music was going to be much harder for him and it made it even worse that he played instruments that were meant to be loud.

"Knock it off," a muffled and tired yelled from behind the wall.

Eren, not wanting to be on the bad side of new neighbour, stood up and walked to the entrance of his apartment. He had nothing else to do and he was going to apologize. He brought his guitar with him since there was no stand to put it on and held it with care as he exited. He softly knocked at the door and waited for a few seconds until it opened and he was greeted by someone awfully familiar.

A short man with ruffled black hair and sharp looking eyes answered the door. Eren was taken aback and almost screamed.

"M-Mr. Ackerman? What could you possibly be doing here?" Eren stammered with shock.

"I should be asking you the same thing..." the man trailed off and yawned.

"I'm going to kill you," Eren snapped and jabbed a thumb into the man's bare chest. "Why the fuck did you leave me to perform alone?"

Levi did not flinch, nor did he react to be touched. "Why does it matter where I've been? You got first place so I don't see why there should be a reason for you to complain."

"You really have no fucking idea how worried I was," Eren shouted. "If you were going to leave you could have told me first."

"I have my reasons and they're not something you shouldn't be so concerned about. You don't know me much anyways" Levi told him sternly. "I don't understand why you're getting so worked up about it."

"You could have answered my calls," Eren told him in a hushed tone of voice.

The shorter man sucked in his breath and nervously bit his lower lip and for a second, Eren saw a spark of vulnerability in his dark eyes, but it disappeared as soon as it appeared.

"I had no idea those calls were yours" he lied quietly.

"So you're saying that if someone spams a shit load of calls, you're not going to try to answer even one of them?" Eren demanded with disbelief.

Levi shrugged. "Whatever. That doesn't matter anymore. What do you want?"

"I originally came here to apologize for playing too loudly but I changed my mind. You should be the one saying it."

"What are you even saying? Why the hell should I be the one to say sorry? It wasn't me who was madly strumming a stupid guitar," Levi protested.

"You left me!" Eren yelled."You left me and it caused quite a lot of stress and worry."

"Why would you be worried? It's not like special to you," Levi replied tiredly.

"Take a clue. Unlike you, I care about people and that includes you. Sometimes I thought you died and other times I thought maybe you just disappeared from the world's existence," Eren huffed.

Levi remained quiet and sighed with frustration. "You're just being silly. It's you own fault that you keep over thinking."

"So it was my fault I kept over thinking about you?" Eren questioned. "I couldn't even read a piano score without having your face show up inside my mind."

Levi's eye twitched and he crossed his arms. "Please rephrase that differently. You're making it sound like you have a ridiculous crush."

"Why would I rephrase it if it's exactly what I mean?" Eren demanded.

Levi's mouth opened to say something but he immediately snapped it closed as his eyes widened with confusion. Eren's voice hitched and his turned away briskly as his face slowly started to heat up.

"N-Not that way," he stammered to correct himself.

"Yes, yes I know," Levi sighed with a roll of his eyes. Unrequited love, he thought, how pitiful and harmful it must be in this situation. "Is that all you got to say? There's nothing I can do right now to change my actions in the past."

Eren's bright green eyes narrowed at Levi and the man understood what the stubborn teen wanted.

"Fine. I sincerely apologize for running off and making you worry about me. Are you happy now?"

"I'm oddly satisfied."

"Okay. You can leave now," Levi said and nodded.

"Alright. See you later," Eren said and left.

Levi could have swore he felt something in his chest as the younger male say those words. Something about those words just did something to him. He was his neighbour now and he could probably have chance to see him everyday, but deep inside he knew that their relationship could never change but the older man was going to be grateful; though embarrassed to admit it, he was glad to see Eren again and it relieved him in some way.
