Two
Seokjin looked down at his watch and let out a huff as he checked to see what time it was and wondering why in the hell, his bonehead of a little brother has still not made it home yet. He knew that the younger had gone over to Jimin's house and that he probably wouldn't make it back until later than usual, but still, it's aggravating.
He should probably communicate his plans a little better.
The older brother contemplated whether he should just go ahead and pack up dinner from earlier this evening. The chicken and mashed potatoes were already cold, but he had been leaving it out in case Jungkook had neglected to eat an evening meal. The younger was bad about that at times.
Ever since their mother was deemed unfit as a parent, Seokjin has been raising Jungkook alongside his husband, Namjoon, but man, the teenager could be quite the handful.
The biggest fear the older had was Jungkook finding himself in some sort of trouble and for him to not have any way of helping his little brother.
"Mommy, when is Kookie coming?" Seokjin smiled as he heard his whole world ask for her favorite uncle. "I want to show him my butterfly!"
The little girl held up a coloring page with scribbled with an outline of a simple butterfly on it. The toddler had managed to use at least six different crayon colors to scribble all over the sheet of paper.
"Jangmi!" Seokjin could hear his husband call enthusiastically from behind him as he started packing away the leftovers from their dinner. "Let Daddy see it first! I want to see your colors!"
The little girl beamed with pride as she held up her scribbly masterpiece from her booster seat at the dining room table.
"Our Jangmi is a little artist Jinnie!" Namjoon talked up the artwork, making the little girl giggle. "Come and see it!"
"Alright, give Mommy just one second. Let me finish up in here real quick" The older husband said while sticking the last tupperware container in the fridge before marching over to the dining area. "Okay, let me get a good look at it" The brunette-haired male leaned forward to gaze at his daughters craft.
"Hmm.. I like the purple, I like the green, you know I love pink!" he spoke with energy to his three-year-old. "Well, Jangmi, I think it's a beautiful butterfly!" He leaned down and left a peck on the top of her head.
"I want Kookie to see it" Jangmi mumbled with a big pout on her face once again, disappointed that she might not see the male before she goes to bed for the night.
Seokjin started to pout back at his daughter, but as he looked in her direction, he saw the headlights of Jungkook's junky van pulling into their driveway. He watched as his younger sibling got out of the car and blew warm air into his hands as he was punched in the face by the blistering chill of the night air.
The teenager seemed to be having an internal struggle. He paced on the walkway that led up to the small home several times, running his fingers through his hair, making dark locks a little messy.
Jin watched as Jungkook pretended to pull a long sword out of a sheath on his hip, extending the fake weapon into the air, and then, plunging it into his own chest. The older rolled his eyes at the scene, while his brother proceeded with his act, sticking his tongue out like he had died.
The younger brother has no idea that he's being watched through the blinds in the kitchen, but honestly, he probably wouldn't care too much right now. Jin can't help but be curious as to what his sibling is going on about.
They must need to have a talk.
Jungkook lets himself in the front door loudly, making everyone in the home aware of his presence.
Jangmi was the first to squeal at the sound of her dear uncle arriving. "Kookie!" She sang as Jungkook strutted inside of the kitchen.
"My Jangmi!" he cooed back, rushing over to where she still sat at the table.
Namjoon reached over to undo the straps of her booster seat, so Jungkook could easily lift his niece into his arms. The little girl already had her arms outstretched for him. Jungkook took a moment to toss Jangmi slightly in the air and catching, causing the room to be filled with the joyous laughter of the child.
But Seokjin's fist was clung to his chest. He was scared of his precious girl being dropped. Jungkook always found this amusing. Though, the older had to admit that Jungkook and Jangmi's relationship was absolutely precious.
Eventually the girl grew tired from laughing so hard and it was partially because it was almost ten o'clock. To help the toddler calm down and catch her breath, Jungkook handed her over to her father.
Namjoon gladly took his daughter and let her cuddle into his chest.
"Have you eaten?" Seokjin asked, directing the question to his brother.
"No, Jimin didn't have anything to eat at his house. I'm pretty starving."
"There's leftovers in the fridge. I just packed them up. Wasn't sure what time you were getting home. A quick text would have been nice" The older crossed his hands over his chest and leaned against the kitchen counter.
The room grew silent at Seokjin's remark.
"I'm going to put her down for bed" Namjoon whispered as he lifted his now sleeping child in his arms, carrying her out of the room to give the brothers a moment alone in case the conversation gets loud.
Jungkook opened the fridge, ducking his head inside, and pulling out the leftover chicken and mashed potatoes. He could feel the older's glare on him.
"Are you going to ignore me, Jeon Jungkook?" Seokjin asked as he tapped his foot in irritation.
Jungkook pulled himself out a plate. "Look, I'm sorry okay. I just didn't think about it. I should've messaged you, but I had a lot on my mind today." He put his plate in the microwave, heating up his dinner.
"It's a school night, Jungkook. You don't need to be staying out this late."
"It's ten o'clock, Jin. It's not that late. You need to stop suffocating me so much!" Jungkook argued, but the young male didn't say much more, knowing that what he was going to have to tell his older brother wasn't going to help his case very much.
Seokjin didn't say anything else as he bit on the inside of his bottom lip.
Jungkook took a seat at the dining table, starting to scarf down his late dinner. Between a mouthful of food, he mumbled, "I need to talk to you guys about something." He tried to say it as nonchalantly as possible. "You may want to take a seat though."
Seokjin raised an eyebrow at that, slowly making his way to his on the opposite side of the table. Namjoon walked into the room and instantly felt that weird atmosphere as he took a seat next to husband.
"What's going on?" Namjoon asked, looking back and forth between the two brothers.
Jin shrugged. "I don't know. Jungkook said that he needs to talk to us about something."
"Should we be nervous?" Namjoon joked.
Jungkook flashed a bit of a mischievous smile. "Uhh... maybe? But I can tell you I'm more nervous." he admitted with a nervous giggle before stuffing his face with another bit of mashed potatoes.
Seokjin folded his hands on the tabletop in front of him, trying to ease his mind. He has no idea what his brother is about to let out, but by his little show outside earlier, he knows it's not going to be good. "What do you need to tell us Kook?"
"Hang on, I'm honestly freaking out and I don't know how to say it." The younger suddenly didn't feel hungry anymore, so he pushed away his plate.
"Did you fail your algebra test?" Seokjin asked.
Jungkook just shook his head.
"Did you get in a fight at school?" Namjoon queried.
"Nope." Jungkook responded.
"Were you expelled?" Jin shot out, starting to freak out.
"That's not it." Jungkook was now rocking back and forth in his seat, his nerves were really getting to him.
"Were you arrested or-" Namjoon had blurted out, completely shooting in the dark, but Jungkook stopped him in the middle of his sentence.
"No! God no! That's not it!" Jungkook started to ring his hands in front of him, contemplating how to say this. "Alright," he sighed, "I'm just going to come right out and say it." The teenager took a deep inhale of breath and blurted, "I'm pregnant."
Neither Namjoon or Seoking reacted at first. They just stared at the younger male, blinking occasionally.
"Um, what?" Seokjin finally asked. There was no way he heard that correctly.
"I'm pregnant" Jungkook repeated, looking downwards at the table.
Seokjin's heart started to pound in his chest. This was a joke. His little brother has pulled pranks on him before, but this one really isn't funny. "Prove it."
Jungkook reached into his pocket and pulled out the last pregnancy test he took today and set it down on the table, pushing it towards his older brother and brother-in-law.
The older two stared down at the test, processing how the pee stick clearly showed a tiny pink plus sign in the window.
"Jungkook?" Seokjin whispered while his husband stayed silent.
"Hm?" he didn't want to make eye contact with the older.
"Please tell me that this is not your pee stick" he breathed. "Please, enlighten me and tell me that this is not your pee on this pee stick that shows that it's positive. You better tell me that this is not your used pee stick that YOU JUST SET DOWN ON MY DINING TABLE!"
And there it is. Seokjin finally let himself snap as the realization of the situation sunk in.
"I can't t-tell you that." Jungkook stuttered out.
Namjoon took his lover's hand into his own, trying to soothe him before he reaches across the table and kills his younger sibling.
"Jungkook, really!?" Jin shouted as he let himself stand from the dining table, to pace back and forth. "Did you not learn anything from watching me and Namjoon go through this while we were in college? Even though I wouldn't trade her for anything, you know how hard my pregnancy was for us! You're still in high school Jungkook!"
Jungkook let his head fall into his hands. "I know. I know. I fucked up!" he cursed. "I'm telling you now because I don't know what to fucking do about it! I'm panicking!"
"Well, who's the dad?" Namjoon asked, seeming to be the only person remaining calm in this scenario. "Do we know the dude?"
"Yeah, you do, but I really don't want to talk about that right now," Jungkook groaned as he continued to speak into his hands.
"Alright, alright," Seokjin breathed as he sat back down in front of his precious little brother, his little brother who he's helped raise. He grabbed the younger's hand, pulling it away from his face and gave it a tight squeeze.
"Though I am not happy about this situation one bit, we will take one step at a time and go through all of our options. Namjoon and I will help you along the way. We will figure all of this out. It'll be okay. I promise."
Jungkook looked up to meet his brother's eyes, seeing there were tears in them just like his, and squeezed his hand back in gratitude.
