For my first reader. You made me feel incredibly special.
September 6th, 2017
Dear Mother,

I went back to Ethan Wanke today - it was nice to see Alia so excited. Me, I'm not thrilled about returning to school. Summer is the best. I... I get to see Torque during the summer. I miss getting to see my older sister during the day - but now she's back at college doing what she loves. Besides, we went to ENGLAND this summer. It'd been so much fun. We visited Stonehenge and Buckingham Palace and ALL OF IT! Aliyanne only went to Buffalo and Ithaca - and by the sounds of it, it sucked.
Als and I had lockers across from each other. Which was good - I always feel better when she's around. You would love her.
I had Mrs. Behr for homeroom. She's nice and really pretty. I was so nervous though - I always get so anxious about people liking me. It's only Alia I'm truly myself around. We were in a lot of classes together this year - which was AWESOME! We went home together on the subway too, talking like we always do.
But Als wouldn't look at me. So weird.
Anyway, I gave her my Summer Exchange charm for her bracelet. Her picture for my binder was really funny - she was looking up from a drawing, sighing. She managed to capture the pure boredom on her face perfectly - it was kind of adorable.
Ooh, she made one of those chocolate fudge cupcakes of hers she knows I love. Those are always good. Apparently she'd lasted three days this time. I keep telling her cupcakes are irresistible, but she'll never give up. She's so determined and bold and feisty.
I also met this new boy today. He has the locker next to me and URGH he was so annoying. He kept on bugging me through Language with his stupid puns and pick-up lines. "Hey, girl, you look meow-velous today." "Princess, you look absolutely a-door-able." "If the world was a sundae, you'd be the  cherry on top."
I mean, sure, he's funny, and sweet, and - I'll admit it - kind of hot but Arden isn't the kind of boy for me. I like Nate.
Speaking of Nate, I finally managed to speak to him somewhat coherently! It was too bad Als wasn't in my class that period to see me! I managed to overcome it.
Anyway, Mother, I wish you were really here.... it's been so long since I've seen your face. I want to tell you all this in person!
I gotta go - homework and all. I don't want to disappoint you and Daddy.
I had a bit of block with this chapter - I didn't feel right making it as short as it was originally. But I did push through it and give you guys about 400 words, so that's good (I think). Updates will probably get more regular as I go along. I wasn't originally intending to make this into a story and I'll be honest - I have no idea where I'm going with this. I have some vague ideas, but not much in the way of plot or even characters. In addition, I have some ongoing stories that aren't on Wattpad, and I have to be sure to update those as well.
But I did try my best with this, so what did you think?
