Several minutes pass and no more is said between the two of then as he was intensely consumed by his game, cussing randomly and huffing with frustration.

Alana's knee bounced as she strummed over her timeline aimlessly, not even comprehending the captions and memes her thumb passed over. She began to taste blood at how fiercely she chewed on her bottom lip as burning questions plagued her.

".....was he playing or...."

"....was he serious?"

She glanced up cautiously through her lashes to see if Yoongi was paying her any mind. And of course, he wasn't, his dark irises glowing the reflection of the TV as they danced back and forth.

"Naw....he's not serious.....He's always talking crazy. He can't be....."

She shook her head quickly to dispel the idea, flipping her braids back over her head.

But the more she sat there, the more she considered the alternative. The more she imagined the feeling of Yoongi's tongue touching her in places that hadn't been touched by anyone other than herself in far too long...

"....what if.....he's serious..."

"So..."

At the sound of her voice, Yoongi's eyes flit in your direction and she immediately looked down to appear far more casual than she felt.

The heat from Yoongi's gaze was on her again and she knew for sure that she had his attention.

Quietly, Alana cleared her throat.

"You were...just talking shit, right? You weren't serious...." she asked timidly. Her tone makes him pause his hands and he quirks his brow.

"About what?" he says with a seriousness in his eyes and tone that makes Alana consider neverminding it.

But she couldn't. She had to know.

"About...you know....." she stammers, struggling to form the question and secretly hoping Yoongi would catch her drift. When he doesn't respond, she lifts her eyes to find him staring at her curiously.

His casual gaze hardens as realization hits and her body language tells him EXACTLY what she was talking about.

"Oh....OH.....uhm..." Yoongi's jaw drops a fraction as his words struggle to break free. She frowned at his hesitance and she instantly regretted asking.

The two were JUST FRIENDS for fucks sake. Of course, he was joking...

"I mean...I wasn't....not...serious.." he finally says, breaking her scolding inner monologue.

"Huh?" she breathed as she lifted her head.

"Did you...want me to be serious?" he looks around awkwardly for a moment, letting his eyes skim back over to catch her blinking slowly and at a complete loss for words.

"I mean.....well.." Alana stammered again and Yoongi watches her fidget beneath the table. The way her knee bounced rhythmically and how her ankles crossed and her body turned to conceal the way she was stealthily squeezing her thighs together.

Alana was always so easy to read. Though her skin tone concealed the redness of her blush, Yoongi could always tell by the way she hid her face or bit her bottom lip how something affected her. He always flirted with her to get those little reactions. They made something in his chest churn in the best way.

That familiar sensation fluttered beneath his cotton tee along with something deeper.

Lower.

Feeling brave, Yoongi eyes skim over her face, lingering beneath the table and then gliding back up to meet her gaze. He runs his tongue over the inside of his cheek as he smirked.

"I mean...I can't say it's something I'd be opposed to...if you wanted...."

Alana didn't think her eyes could go any wider than they were now.

He was......dead ass serious.

Damn him. Yoongi watched silently as her eyes fluttered cutely and she parted her lips to speak but before she could, the front door of his dorm bursts open. In walks a boisterous trio of men as if they lived there.

Yoongi tensed and relaxed once he realized the intruders were his friends and he rolls his eyes as the door shuts loudly behind them.

Hoseok, Taehyung, and Namjoon file in. Hoseok spots Alana first and nods at her in greeting as Namjoon rounded the corner towards Yoongi's living area.

" I need to start locking that door..." he grumbles as Taehyung is already headfirst in his refrigerator. Namjoon plops down in the seat beside Yoongi, making the futon creak under their combined weight. Hoseok lingers nearby to lean against the slice of wall separating the kitchen area from the living room, lifting his arms over his head to stretch his back as he let out an exaggerated groan.

"You really should. Anyone could just walk in here...Damn man, where's the food in this bitch..." Taehyung trails off from within the icebox.

"Thanks for the sentiment Tae. Get out my shit...Why are yall here anyway?"

"Awwww Yoongs...don't act like you don't enjoy our visits. " his voice echoes from deep inside the fridge, making Alana giggle quietly at the muffled sound.

"You weren't responding in the group chat so we figured you were either dead or on the game," Hoseok adds. Namjoon nods in agreement beside Yoongi.

"Definitely not studying or grocery shopping...gahhdamn how do you survive???" Taehyung whines.

"Are you saying I'm that predictable? As if there wasn't anything else worth not responding for?" Yoongi pushes back his headphones again so that they drop to hang around his neck. Alana watched them fall with interest, honestly because the way Yoongi's Adam's apple bobbed as he spoke always did something to her.

As if he can hear her thoughts, Yoongi glances over just as she looked up and Alana quickly looks down at her phone when she notices him smirking. The small exchange goes unnoticed among the others thankfully.

She didn't need them in her business too.

"Nope. Not really...You damn sure wouldn't be studying on a Friday. So it was either gaming....lying in a ditch.." Hoseok counts off on his nimble fingers and Namjoon chimes in.

"Yep, that or sleeping or getting some tail...or.."

"OR.....maybe I was just ignoring you assholes. As a matter of fact..Before you barged in, Lana and I were having a riveting conversation." Yoongi's mention of Alana makes Namjoon and Hoseok pay her a short glance. She felt her ears go hot suddenly and her neck snapped as she lifted her head, shooting daggers in Yoongi's direction.

"Oh, yea? About what?" Namjoon asks. Without hesitation, Yoongi opens his mouth to respond.

"Not that it's any of your business but we were discussing me eating...."

"FOOD!!" Alana blurts out.

Her sudden outburst takes them all by surprise, Taehyung lifting his head to pause his raid and the other two going silent. She chuckles haphazardly at being the center of attention suddenly.

"I mean...eating food...I said I was hungry..and how he was hungry.....for food.."  She flashes a dorkish smile before looking back down at her phone.

Namjoon and Hoseok look at her questioningly while Yoongi kept his eyes ahead, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. Taehyung emerges from the fridge finally with a red can of Coke and nudges the door shut with his elbow.

"Well, you're both for sure in the wrong place for that....a roach would starve in this place.."

Yoongi side-eyed him and she stifles the giggle bubbling up just as the eyes formally on Alana redirect their attention in Tae's direction. She shrinks back into the chair in relief as he passes the table, glancing over at her brightly as he went.

"Hey, Lana...I didn't even see you there." he winks. Alana gives Taehyung a stiff close-lipped smile as he made his way toward the couch. He crosses Yoongi's view of the TV briefly to take up the spot on the other side of him, making the older huff and crane his neck to see.

Hoseok eventually makes his way over to the living area and perches himself on the single bean bag in the corner and a bid of silence settles over Alana again as the guys go on about their normal banter. Their voices taper out and fade and she paid less and less attention to memes and selfies stretching on forever beneath her nude pink painted thumb nail.

Her imagination and hormones ran wild as scenarios played out in her mind. One of them being what may have transpired if the gang hadn't graciously interrupted their conversation.

He couldn't be serious. There was no way that after a year and a half of friendship where nothing has gone on between the two beyond a hug would Yoongi be serious about offering up his oral skills for the greater good.

Hell, up until now Alana wasn't even sure Yoongi looked at her that way. Sure, she knew she was attractive and men showed her interest all of the time. Yoongi seemed to have a specific type though ( taller, thinner, on the fair side) and you figured that was all he'd go for. Maybe that was the reason she felt most comfortable with him because beyond his snide comments that were sometimes borderline inappropriate, he never actually tried anything. So being alone with him for hours on end never felt awkward because of unnamed tension. She chalked it up to him just not being interested in her that way.

She'd be lying to herself if she deemed her feelings mutual though.

"Hey, Lana!"

Pulling herself from the daze was Hoseok this time and Alana blinked cartoonishly when she finds all eyes on her again.

"Huh?" she exhaled with wide eyes. Hoseok tilts his head curiously at her expression as he repeats himself.

"We were just talking about heading down to the caf before it gets too late. Since Yoongi would mostly likely starve otherwise according to Taehyung. Then maybe we can hit the town. Wanna come?" he lifts his brows, almost hopefully.

His verbiage makes a bit of spittle catch in your throat and she let out an involuntary cough as another annoying blush runs over her body. Yoongi did seem to be interested in her response as he abandoned his game, the controller tossed aside and replaced by his phone. He stared at his screen with a soft scowl as his thumb tapped quickly over it.

Not that she wasn't hungry and not that a night out with this crew didn't seem like a good time. Any other time she would tag along gladly, Yoongi usually being her wingman when she did.

"Uh..no it's ok. I think I'll just head back to my room."

The chair she was seated in scuffs over the floor as she stood and Yoongi looks up from his phone to see her gathering her things. The other guys watched with mild interest.

"You sure? Hoseok asks and Alana nods immediately.

"Yea I'm sure. I have some studying to do anyway. I'm sure my suitemates are all gonna be out tonight so it'll be quiet.."

She fumbles with her books and pen case, stuffing everything in her backpack clumsily. She then swipe her phone and keys from the table before heading towards the door.

Yoongi chuckles softly. Whether it was at her or something on his phone, Alana didn't know. But she wasn't taking a chance in looking over to find out. She had to get out of his dorm ASAP.

"Oh..alright then.." Hoseok pouts slightly but doesn't press the issue. Alana shrugged the strap of her bag over her shoulder.

"Thanks anyway Hobi......I'll see you guys later" She turned to wave before opening the door. The moment she does, the crisp fall air hits her with a welcomed chill against her flushed skin as she steps over the threshold with a sigh.

"Lana! Wait...."

Alana freezes at the sound of his voice and his footsteps crossing over the small space to meet her at the door. Yoongi sticks his foot out to stop his door from closing and she turns slowly to look up at him.

He pokes his head outside of his doorway to scan the bare sidewalks lit by the lamps that were just turning on. The sun was just about to set and the sky was that darkening ombre of navy, cyan, and pink. That side of the campus housing units was fairly quiet, despite it being a Friday night.

"It's getting dark. You want me to walk you back to your side?" he asks, squinting into the distance as she found the strength to look away. A task considering how handsome Yoongi was in this light and this close. Her gaze lingered on the collar of his v-neck, exposing his milky white skin and the shadow above where his chest muscles were hidden underneath.

"You know I'm not far from here Yoongi...You don't have to," you say. Yoongi looks down at you through his bangs, his expression hardening into a slight frown.

Then a smirk.

"Look....what I said...I hope I didn't cross a line or make you uncomfortable. I just thought.."

Alana shook her head at him and he pauses midsentence.

"You didn't make me uncomfortable...Just caught off guard maybe?.. Anyway, it's fine." She says, Yoongi's hooded eyes toggling between her eyes and mouth as she spoke.

"Yeah?" he readjust his stance in the doorway, letting the door close a bit against his shoulder as he leaned against the doorframe. Then he looked at her in that way again. Like he was looking straight through her and exposing all of her thoughts with his eyes. When his gaze lingered on her lips again, she parted them unknowingly and he looks back up to lock eyes again.

Something in her sparkling brown irises and widening pupils betrayed her and she knew it. So as a slight breeze rolled between their bodies, her eyes fluttered in response, and the trance is effectively broken.

"Yeah...." she sighs with a shy smile and looks down at the sidewalk as she began to back away. The movement causes a single braid to fall over her shoulder. Yoongi steps out of his dorm completely, the door shutting behind him as he reached out. Alana stalled when the braid caught between his careful fingers and she furrowed her brow slightly at the way his thumb traced over the intertwining strands fondly all the way down before moving it back over her shoulder.

His fingertips brush over her when he pulls his hand back but he remained planted less than an inch from her.

"Sure you wanna go back to your room then?.." he asks softly, tilting his head. His hair moves enough for the vulnerable twinkle in his eyes to shine through. The sweet and playful Yoongi she knew well enough could still be seen there. But the other part of him, the part she wondered about rearing its beautiful head.

Why now?

Why when she was content in not being attached or involved seriously. When her school and work like found a perfect balance and she was at an emotional plateau would Yoongi suddenly flip the script on her?

He was a friend.

A smart, funny, talented, endearing, trustworthy, athletic but chill, extremely attractive in that subtly and effortless way....kind of friend that she enjoyed being her true self around. Sexual tension peaked around the corner many times but never entered the room completely until now.

What started out as a joke was now exhuming a buried desire she never thought would see the light.

Butterflies swarmed in her tummy and she couldn't stop the smile from forming over her lips at the idea of sticking around. Not that she wasn't hungry or had anything important to study for anyway. Tonight just didn't feel like the time to explore that though. Horny and sex-deprived or not, indulging her male best friends' offer was something she'd have to think over.

Rolling her eyes, Alana nudged Yoongi back towards his stoop before widening the gap between the two of them.

"I'm sure....." she continued back, maintaining a playful skip as Yoongi looked on in amusement.

"Bye Yoongi......" Alana says as she turned away, braids swinging and hips swaying. She heads up the lightened path, minding every crack and imperfection on the sidewalks in case Yoongi was watching her.

Which he was.

He waited until she was rounding the corner, disappearing in the direction of her block of dorms, smiling as he opened his door to re-enter his space.

"See you, Lana....."
