the one where it's tense
The car was filled with music as George drove the group to a near by cafe.
The rain had stopped, quickly clearing up and leaving light sun rays in its wake.
Haru had not a care in the world as she pressed her hands against the window in the backseat of the car.
It was a sweet sight, Emi thought, looking to her left at the excited girl.
She looked at her, a slight smile on her face.
It slowly fell when she looked just in front of Haru, at the man sitting in the drivers seat.
His lengthy, black hair.
It looked just as it had when they were kids.
The image of a young, thirteen year old George flashed in her mind.
She huffed out a sigh that only she could hear, letting a microscopic, sad, nostalgic smile grace itself upon her lips.
His head turned slightly, and Emi looked into the rear-view mirror, meeting his eyes.
Something in them was so serious.
Sota glanced in the rear-view mirror, noting how intensely 'George' was staring into it.
He shifted his gaze to his right, fixating on the solid expression on Emi's face through the side mirror.
He had looked just in time to see her inhale, and look away quickly.
A single tear slipped its way down her cheek.
She wiped it away veraciously with the over sized sleeve of her sweater.
Sota stared straight ahead, his jaw clenching.
"Green light."
There was an aggressiveness in Sota's tone. It was almost undetectable, but George heard it.
Oh, did he hear it.
And it annoyed him.
George ripped his stare away from Emi, and slowly laid his foot on the gas.
Sota took one more gaze at Emi through the side view mirror.
He remembered the way she look the first time they had met.
He let a small smile graze his lips, that only disappeared when George had spoken up, telling them that they were almost at their destination.
